Rong Tianxuan headed straight toward Cang Wuyin.

“Huh?”

“What is it?”

“Why is he going over there?”

His sudden movement drew murmurs from everyone who was not currently sparring.

Since Rong Tianxuan was heading directly toward Zhaoling, Zhao Wuheng, and the others for no obvious reason, the surrounding disciples could not help but find it strange.

A few, however, seemed to understand what he intended to do, and their eyes immediately brightened.

“Greetings. I am Rong Tianxuan of the Rong Family.”

After crossing the courtyard at a brisk pace, Rong Tianxuan gave Zhaoling and Zhao Wuheng a light bow before turning his attention to Cang Wuyin and Luo Wuhen.

Luo Wuhen’s eyes widened.

He had not expected one of the Four Dragons, much less the young lord of the Rong Family, to approach them and offer a greeting first.

Caught off guard, Luo Wuhen hurriedly pressed his palms together.

“I, it’s an honor to meet you! I am Luo Wuhen, the second head disciple of Shaolin!”

“The pleasure is mine.”

“I am Cang Wuyin, a lay disciple.”

Unlike Luo Wuhen, Cang Wuyin remained completely composed.

The reputation of the Rong Family did not particularly affect him. It was certainly impressive, but there was no reason for him to become nervous simply because Rong Tianxuan had introduced himself.

If anything, when it came to status, Cang Wuyin had no reason to feel inferior.

“Could you perhaps be the Abbot’s youngest disciple?”

“That’s correct.”

Rong Tianxuan asked politely, though there was confidence behind his words. Cang Wuyin answered just as calmly.

The revelation should have surprised him, but he showed almost no reaction.

Instead, Zhaoling and Zhao Wuheng were the ones who looked surprised.

Neither had expected Rong Tianxuan to know about Cang Wuyin.

Swoosh.

Zhaoling instinctively turned toward Zhao Wuheng.

Could the information have come from the Wandering Sages’ Sect?

As soon as their eyes met, Zhao Wuheng hurriedly sent a voice transmission.

–It’s not me!

Zhaoling had clearly suspected him, so Zhao Wuheng shook his head with an expression of complete innocence, making it clear that he had not revealed anything about Cang Wuyin.

Zhaoling’s suspicion did not disappear.

–It really isn’t me! The Rong Family hasn’t even asked me about him!

Under Zhaoling’s unconvinced gaze, Zhao Wuheng quickly defended himself again.

He sounded genuinely offended at being suspected.

“If it would not be discourteous, may I request a sparring match? As a swordsman myself, I have long been curious about Shaolin’s sword.”

While Zhao Wuheng was still trying to clear his name, Rong Tianxuan got straight to the reason he had approached them.

His request left virtually no room for Cang Wuyin to refuse.

Cang Wuyin smiled faintly.

The young man’s words were polite enough, but the confidence beneath them was obvious to him.

“If this place is uncomfortable, we can move elsewhere.”

“No. We cannot treat guests who have come to our temple differently. We will do it here.”

“Thank you for accepting my sudden request.”

Rong Tianxuan clasped his fists in salute.

His movements were as polished as his appearance, and the gesture immediately drew quiet exclamations from the surrounding disciples.

The women who had gathered nearby were particularly excited. Several of them could barely contain their admiration as they looked at Rong Tianxuan.

Luo Wuhen, meanwhile, looked at him with undisguised envy.

“Let’s begin right away.”

“Understood.”

“Please come this way.”

Yun Zhaoming had heard the entire exchange through inner energy. He moved into the front courtyard and cleared a suitable space for the match.

He asked the disciples who had been sparring there to make room, and none of them objected.

Once they learned that Rong Tianxuan, one of the Four Dragons, was about to spar with Cang Wuyin, a disciple who appeared to hold considerable standing within Shaolin, their curiosity quickly replaced any annoyance.

Everyone wanted to see the result.

“Shall we begin then.”

“Yes.”

Cang Wuyin answered leisurely as Rong Tianxuan’s eyes settled on him with clear anticipation.

No matter how closely Rong Tianxuan examined him, he could not find even the slightest trace of nervousness.

That was unusual.

Rong Tianxuan was certain Cang Wuyin knew exactly who he was, yet the young man behaved as though he were sparring with an ordinary disciple.

It was slightly irritating.

At the same time, it was refreshing.

Since earning the title Heavenly Dragon, Rong Tianxuan had never encountered a rising junior who treated him this casually. His interest in Cang Wuyin grew.

“Since I requested the spar, I will go first.”

“Please do.”

It had been a long time since Rong Tianxuan had taken the initiative in a spar.

Against other rising juniors, he was usually the stronger party and would often allow them to make the first move.

This time, however, he had been the one to request the match.

So for the first time in a while, Rong Tianxuan drew his sword first.

He felt a growing sense of anticipation.

He wanted to see whether Cang Wuyin possessed enough ability to justify the reputation surrounding him.

Even so, Rong Tianxuan had no doubt about the outcome.

He would win.

Screeeech!

‘This guy hasn’t changed either.’

The instant Rong Tianxuan drew his sword, the blade shot toward Cang Wuyin’s heart.

The movement was smooth and natural, flowing like water.

Cang Wuyin smiled faintly as he watched the attack approach.

It seemed that Rong Tianxuan’s temperament had not changed much over the past ten years.

There was, however, one difference.

‘But does this fellow know? That in a few years, those he thought were beneath him will overtake him.’

A grin appeared on Cang Wuyin’s face as his hand moved to his sword.

He drew it.

But by then, Rong Tianxuan’s blade had already crossed most of the distance between them and was only an arm’s length away.

And Cang Wuyin’s sword, however, had not even completely left its scabbard.

Rong Tianxuan’s eyes immediately showed disappointment.

But then.

Claaang!

Cang Wuyin continued the tedious training, repeating the same movements over and over again. Then, a familiar Buddhist invocation came from one side of the front courtyard.“You have arrived.”“You knew I was coming?”An old monk stood there with a string of one hundred and eight prayer beads around his neck. The years had left their mark on his face, but there was still a calm dignity about him.His expression showed a hint of surprise. From the looks of it, Cang Wuyin had known he was there even before he made his presence known.“I knew you were watching.”“Hoh.”Zhaoyuan, Cang Wuyin’s master and the Abbot of Shaolin, raised his brows slightly at the calm answer. He had not even tried particularly hard to hide his presence, but sensing him from that distance was not something an ordinary martial artist could do.For that reason, Zhaoyuan looked at his disciple with renewed interest. At the same time, he realized that the rumors circulating around the temple in recent days were not

“Perhaps you already knew. And not just Father, I should also let Oppa know. Just because he is in secluded cultivation doesn’t mean he is completely unreachable.”“Understood.”The masked man in black understood the situation and left the room.It would not be appropriate for him to remain in a room where a woman was alone for longer than necessary.“A Shaolin unregistered disciple who learned the Three Dharma Swords. And on top of that, he easily subdued Rong Tianxuan, the top groom candidate.”Yue Xi lightly touched her lips as she considered what she had just heard.Defeating Rong Tianxuan, who was regarded as the greatest among the rising juniors, was certainly an astonishing accomplishment.Rong Tianxuan had always given people the impression that he was someone who simply did not lose. Because of that, the shock among the rising juniors who had witnessed the spar was enormous. But Yue Xi was not interested in the result alone.“He didn’t move a single step from his spot.”While

Rong Tianxuan had poured everything he had into that final strike, yet once again, it failed to reach Cang Wuyin.Cang Wuyin’s sword had stopped his blade halfway.“……I’ve lost.”“You worked hard.”Rong Tianxuan had expected the possibility of defeat, but he had never imagined that his strongest attack would be stopped so easily. For a moment, his expression went blank.Of course, he had not simply accepted the result without fighting back. The instant their swords collided, Rong Tianxuan gathered every bit of strength in his body and drove his sword forward. He had intended to knock Cang Wuyin’s blade away through sheer force, then use the opening to launch another attack. But it did not work.No matter how much strength he poured into his sword, Cang Wuyin’s blade remained exactly where it was. Rong Tianxuan pushed until his face turned red, yet he could not move it even slightly.“I learned a lot.”“So did I.”Rong Tianxuan accepted the result, but losing had not extinguished his f

‘She was pretty back then too.’Unlike Luo Wuhen, who had practically lost himself at the sight of the Three Phoenixes, Cang Wuyin remained perfectly calm.Even after seeing the three women regarded as the most beautiful in the Central Plains, his expression barely changed.Zhao Wuheng, who had been glancing at him from the side, looked genuinely confused. It was obvious now that Cang Wuyin truly had no special interest in the Three Phoenixes. He was not pretending to be indifferent. He simply was.“How can you be so unfazed, Senior Uncle?”“I am admiring them as well.”“Not at all though? You’re really indifferent. To me, it feels like you’re just looking at a well-drawn painting or a well-written piece of prose.”“Should I be panting like you instead?”“W-when did I ever pant?!”Luo Wuhen’s voice immediately rose.He was not trying to argue. He was genuinely flustered, and his face quickly turned red again.“Put your hand on your chest and reflect on yourself. Think about the look i
