Kagern let out a chuckle and asked, "What's not possible? Oh! Not able to kill us today, you mean?"

"What are you talking about?" Carolina asked, trying to feign ignorance. She wasn't sure how the police had discovered her plan, but she was sure of one thing. She would never plead guilty.
