Evan looked at the Governor, then snorted in disgust.

"Too far?" He pointed at Duan, whose face was still swollen and bruised. "When my brother was getting beaten into that state, you just stood there, Governor. So why is it that now, when they're the ones taking the hits, you suddenly decide to step in?"

The Governor let out a long sigh. He looked torn.

Evan didn't wait for an answer.

"I don't care who you are, sir. Governor or not, if you've got the guts to stick your nose in my business, I won't hesitate to go through you."

The hall went dead silent. Threatening a governor in front of hundreds of guests? Some people forgot to breathe.

Strangely enough, the Governor didn't get angry. He lowered his voice instead.

"Young man, I'm asking you. Just this once, let it end here." He glanced at the Feris guards sprawled across the floor. "If someone dies tonight, I'll have a hard time explaining it."

Evan tilted his head, then gave a thin smile.

"What's so hard about it? As far as I know, this country allows fights between martial artists. If you die at the hands of someone stronger, that's on you."

He said it casually, like he was talking about the weather.

A chill ran down everyone's spine. This man wasn't bluffing. He really did intend to kill.

The Governor was quiet for a few moments, then decided to be frank.

"Alright, I'll be honest with you. I owe the Feris family a debt of gratitude. That's why I can't just stand by and watch them get wiped out in front of me." He looked Evan straight in the eye. "How about this. I'll be the one to compensate you for what happened tonight. Just name it."

"Governor, don't do that!" Ferdi Feris cut in at once, his face flushed dark red. "I'm not afraid of this brat at all! The Feris family doesn't need..."

"Shut up!"

The Governor's roar thundered through the hall. Ferdi Feris flinched.

"You think I didn't see what happened just now? One kick, and you went flying!" The Governor stared at him coldly. "Listen carefully, Ferdi. This is the last time I help you. My debt is paid in full tonight. From now on, whatever happens to your family, I won't step in again."

Ferdi Feris's face went pale. His mouth opened, but no words came out.

Evan still hadn't moved. He clearly wasn't satisfied yet.

"Brother." Duan struggled to his feet and took hold of Evan's arm. "Let it go. The truth is, the Governor didn't just stand there. He stood up for me again and again and kept telling me to leave. I'm the one who was stubborn and stayed here to get beaten."

Evan glanced at him.

"You really do go looking for trouble."

"I just wanted to see how far she'd let it go," Duan muttered.

Evan clicked his tongue, then sighed. The killing intent that had been pressing down on the whole hall slowly faded, and the guests could finally breathe again.

"Fine. Since my brother's the one asking." He gave the Governor a short nod. "Forget the compensation, Governor. I'm not short on anything."

Then his eyes shifted to Ferdi Feris, and his smile turned cold again.

"Old man, this is where it ends for now. But later..." He patted the collar of his jacket. "Just you wait."

Ferdi Feris clenched his fists inside the sleeves of his robe, but didn't dare say a single word back.

Evan had already stopped caring. He walked over to the old man and the young man who had been standing by Duan's side from the start. He took out two cards with a string of numbers on them and held them out.

"This is my number. You two stood up for my brother when almost nobody else had the guts to. If you ever need anything from me, just call. I'll help, no question."

Before they could answer, Evan reached into his pocket and tossed a car key to the young man.

"The Ferrari out front. I was gonna make it one of Duan's wedding gifts. Since the wedding's off, it's yours."

The young man caught it on reflex, then froze.

Evan then took the watch off his wrist and placed it in the old man's hand.

"And this one's for you, sir. Think of it as a gift for our first meeting."

"This... this is far too valuable, Young Master." The old man hurriedly held it back out to him. "I can't accept it."

"He's right, I can't either," the young man added nervously. "I only did what anyone should have done."

"Just take it." Evan waved a hand, already turning away. "I never take back something I've given. If you don't want it, throw it out."

The two of them looked at each other, then could only smile helplessly.

The guests could no longer keep their jaws shut.

"That limited-edition Ferrari... he just gave it away?"

"The watch is a limited edition too. I've seen it in a magazine. There are only a handful in the whole world!"

"Those two things are worth anywhere from over ten million to tens of millions of dollars. And he handed them out like candy..."

On the floor, Serli stared at Duan's back, her face deathly pale. Her lips were trembling.

The man she'd called trash with nothing to his name turned out to have a brother like this. Then who exactly was Duan himself?

Regret hit her so hard that her chest tightened. She opened her mouth, wanting to call out Duan's name.

But Duan didn't look back even once.

===

In the hotel courtyard, the night breeze was cool.

Duan stopped beside the car and bowed his head low in front of Evan.

"Brother, I'm sorry for embarrassing you. I... I want to rejoin the organization. I want to go back to headquarters."

Evan looked at him for a few seconds, then chuckled and patted him on the head.

"Who told you to quit over a woman like that in the first place? Go on back. And train properly."

Duan's eyes reddened. "Thank you, Brother."

Mosa and the others threw their arms around Duan's shoulders, laughing. Somehow, that failed wedding no longer felt like a defeat.

Evan, meanwhile, was already busy with his phone.

"Right, now I need a place to live." His finger scrolled quickly across the screen. "This one's not bad. Star Villa."

Duan was confused about why Evan needed a place to live. Once Mosa explained, he understood.

Evan didn't bother going to a real estate company. A few taps on the screen, one short call, and the deal was done.

Eleven million dollars, paid in full that very night.

His five men weren't surprised anymore. They were long used to how Evan handled buying and selling.

No second thoughts! And haggling? Forget it.

===

Star Villa stood in the most elite district of Moon City. The building was grand and the grounds were spacious, complete with a swimming pool and a garage big enough for a dozen cars.

Once the four sports cars were parked neatly in the garage, Mosa walked up to Evan.

"Brother, we're heading straight back to Erose tonight. We can't leave headquarters unattended for long."

"Go on, get out of here." Evan waved without looking back. "Take good care of the house. And keep an eye on that brat. Don't let him fall for some random woman again."

Duan could only scratch his head while the others laughed.

Not long after, the five of them left, and the huge villa fell silent.

===

Evan took a quick look around, from the living room to the master bedroom upstairs, then nodded in satisfaction.

"Not bad. It's not as fancy as my place in Erose, but it'll do."

He stretched out on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and stared up at the high ceiling.

Quiet.

Way too quiet.

No noisy subordinates, no blonde clinging sweetly to his arm. Just him and a villa this big.

Slowly, his thoughts started drifting somewhere naughty. The faces of the two beautiful women he'd saved that evening flashed through his mind. One with tears streaming down her face, the other as cold as ice.

The corner of Evan's mouth lifted.

"If I filled this villa with beautiful women," he murmured, blowing out smoke, "life here would be just as good as it was in Erose."

Evan stopped. His hand went still on Madam Sandra’s shoulder.“Madam,” he whispered hoarsely. “I wanna see these big beauties of yours for real.”“I already told you, only over the clothes!” Madam Sandra clutched her dress even tighter.“Come on, Madam...”Evan didn’t pull at her. Instead his hand went back over the fabric and squeezed her breast harder than before, slow but deep, as if reminding her body of what it had just been feeling.Madam Sandra bit her lip. Her breath hitched, and her body, starved for so long, grew even hotter. Her defenses crumbled bit by bit, not because of Evan, but because of herself.“Fine, do whatever you want...” she finally murmured, turning her face away. Her hands slowly let go of the dress.Evan drew the fabric down along with the black bra strap. As the sight beneath was laid bare under the dim glow of the bedside lamp, full, smooth, and pale, with reddish-brown peaks, Evan swallowed hard.“So beautiful...” he murmured in awe. “This big and not sag

Madam Sandra froze.Evan’s whisper had hit her like a bolt out of the blue. Her face burned, from her cheeks all the way to her ears.“H-help?” Her voice trembled. “Young Master, do you... do you even realize what you just said?”“Totally.” Evan smiled without a hint of shame. “You’re the one who asked, right? So I gave you an honest answer.”“I’m Vanessa’s mother!”“Yeah, I know.”“I’m way older than you!”“I know that too.” Evan leaned back and looked her over from head to toe. “So what? You’re the one who got me like this. Sitting next to me in a dress like that, smelling this good. I’m a normal guy, Madam. Not a statue.”Madam Sandra glanced toward the hallway. The lights in Vanessa’s and Bianca’s rooms were still on, and from Disa’s room came the faint sound of laptop keys clicking.“Keep your voice down!” she hissed. “If they hear...”“That’s why I’ve been whispering this whole time.”Madam Sandra was at a loss for words. She bit her lip and turned her face away.“He’s crazy...

  • Chapter 19 Flirting with Her Mother

This widowed mother of Vanessa’s still had a truly stunning allure. Her face was beautiful, her skin clear and firm, showing no sign of her age at all. The tight dress she wore clung to her body, revealing every curve. Her chest was enormous, even bigger than Bianca’s. Her hips were full, her backside round and plump. And on top of all that, she carried a calm, mature aura. An aura no young woman could ever imitate.“Madam,” Evan said casually, “you’re still really beautiful, and you look young, too. Why haven’t you married again?”Madam Sandra’s hand stopped over a glass. She froze for a moment. Then she let out a soft sigh, set the glass down, and smiled as she looked at Evan.“Finding a man you can rely on is very hard, Young Master.” Her voice was gentle. “You must know what the circles of elite families are like. Most of it is just about gain. What they look at is the family name, the wealth, the connections. Not the person.”Evan nodded. He understood perfectly. No matter the co

Vanessa was the first to nod.“Alright, Grandpa. I’ll go along with your decision.”Bianca and Disa looked at each other, then agreed as well.“I’ll go too,” Madam Sandra said calmly. “If I’m there, I can keep an eye on the three of them.”Evan looked at Madam Sandra. The mature woman sat gracefully in a dress that hugged her ripe curves.“A beautiful older woman with a hot body at the villa. Not bad at all. Hehe,” Evan said to himself.“How nice it would be if I could stay at Young Master’s villa too.”That gentle voice came from where the Citra family was seated. Nadia was resting her chin on her hand, a small smile on her lips. Maybe she was envious, maybe there was some other reason.“If you want to, Miss Nadia, you’re welcome to!” Evan answered in a hurry.Vanessa and Bianca glared at him on reflex.“That bastard!” Bianca cursed in her heart.Nadia giggled. Her eyes flicked briefly to Vanessa’s cold face, then to Bianca’s annoyed one.“I’m only joking, Young Master. But if I ever

"Oh." Evan blew out his cigarette smoke, his tone dismissive. "And here I thought it was some big family..."Everyone was taken aback. The Yudi family of Cloud City, stronger than two first-class families combined, and this young man talked about them like he was discussing a food stall at the end of the street?"Young Master, what do you mean?" Old Master Jaya asked."Come on, relax." Evan waved a hand. "This family's going to be just fine."It didn't sound serious at all. But Old Master Jaya's face lit up at once, like a man who had just had a weight lifted off him."That's good... thank you, Young Master. Thank you.""Grandpa." Vanessa's voice trembled. Tears ran down her cheeks. "Can't you just not go and fight?""Yes, that's right, Father!" Madam Sandra added. "We still want you alive!"Old Master Jaya smiled peacefully."I still want to live too. • Chapter 16 Life-and-Death Pact

Evan looked over the women in the hall one by one.The one who caught his attention most was a young woman sitting beside Old Master Pandu. Her beauty was on par with Vanessa’s. The difference was that she wasn’t cold at all. Her gaze was gentle, and there was a faint, friendly smile on her lips.“That’s my granddaughter, Nadia,” said Old Master Pandu, who had caught where Evan was looking.Nadia nodded politely. Evan answered with his best smile. Then his eyes moved to a mature woman sitting near Vanessa. Her face looked a little like Vanessa’s, only more refined, with a charm that only a woman her age could have.“And this is my daughter, Sandra. Vanessa’s mother,” Old Master Jaya introduced her. His voice dropped a little. “Vanessa’s father passed away in an accident a long time ago.”Madam Sandra smiled and bowed her head to Evan.“Thank you for saving my daughter, Young Master.”“You’re welcome, Madam.”Evan had just learned one thing. That cold woman had been without a father fo
