Aleric

Brienne carried her only son back home with tears streaming down her cheek. She knew what she did to be able to conceive and gave birth to Alaric. She took Alaric to the family doctor the moment she entered the family castle.

"Lady Brienne, what is wrong?" The doctor asked as he saw the beautiful lady carrying her five years old son.

"It's Aleric, he ate a poison mushroom." She handed Aleric over to the doctor. The doctor knew this was a piece of bad news since Aleric was already a weak boy with no mana in his system. Taking a poison mushroom is certain death.

"Stay outside." The doctor led Lady Brienne outside and asked his nurse to bring him a healing potion. He just prays they still have time for the potion to work. The healing potion would work if it hasn't been more than 30 minutes since Aleric ate the mushroom.

"Here is it." The nurse handed it over to the doctor and he pour it inside Alaric and pray they are not too late. He came outside to speak with Lady Brienne and ask her how long it was since Aleric ate the mushroom.

"I don't know for sure but he was still breathing when I found him and it didn't take me more than ten minutes to get back to the castle." 

"Alright." 

"What is wrong?" Enzo Xalvador asked his wife the moment he entered. Enzo Xalvador is the current Lord of Warkinles and one of the strongest warriors in the human kingdom. 

"It's Aleric, he ate a poison mushroom." Lady Brienne cried and her husband tried his best to console his beautiful wife.

"Doctor, how is his condition?" Enzo asked. He already has a lot of burdens weighing down on his shoulders, so he doesn't want losing a son to be one of them.

"I have given him a healing potion, as long as it hasn't been up to 30 minutes since he ate the mushroom he would survive." 

"When was the last time you saw him?" Enzo asked his wife.

"About 5 hours ago, he left to play with his friends." With this variable, it's now difficult to say when Aleric took the poison.

"Doctor, he is awake." The nurse came and announce, and relief washed over Enzo. Lady Brienne ran towards the room to check on her son.

"I guess the lady found him the moment he ate the poison." The doctor declared and Enzo nodded. 

"How are you?" Lady Brienne asked her son. 

After Jinwoo passed out he entered what appeared to look like his sea of consciousness. There, the life of Aleric passes over his eyes as if it was a movie. From watching it all he was able to figure out something about Aleric. The first thing was that he is now living in this body and as such, he is now Aleric. The second was that he is the only child of Lord Enzo Xalvador and the beautiful lady beside him is his mother. Another thing he discovered was that he is no longer on earth. This is a magical world called Jusavia and humans are not the only ones in it.

"I am fine." He muttered and Enzo entered the room at that moment.

Jinwoo looks at the fearsome warrior that is now his father. He looked strong and big enough to be able to crush a man's skull with his hand. He wasn't looking all pleasing to the eyes and Aleric wish to see his own reflection to know who he took after. He would be sad if he took after his father that has black hair and has a look that is below average. 

"Why did you eat the mushroom?" Enzo asked and his wife kicked his shin.

"The boy just barely woke up and you are already asking him that?" Lady Brienne glared at his husband and the latter raised his arms in surrender. Enzo Xalvador might be feared by many but his wife doesn't have a single atom of fear for him.

"What would you like to eat?" Lady Brienne asked and her gesture warmed Jinwoo's heart. He wished with everything he has to look like his mother. With the few things he saw in his sea of consciousness, his reflection was not part of them.

"I am not hungry for now?"

"Don't bother to feed him, just take him home and have him rest for the poison to leave his system." The doctor instructed and the family nodded and took their child.

        Because Aleric woke up, they believed it hasn't been long since he ate the poison but they were wrong. It has been more than two hours since Aleric ate the poison, actually, their son is dead, and in his body is Jinwoo.

Lady Brienne took it upon herself to bathe her son and take care of him. Jinwoo surprisingly wasn't embarrassed, he discovered that some of Aleric's feelings were missed by his own. So since Aleric's love for Lady Brienne is that of a son to a mother, Jinwoo didn't feel embarrassed about Lady Brienne bathing him. 

"Where were your friends when you ate the mushroom?" Lady Brienne muttered as she tucked her son to sleep. Jinwoo found out that just like he was being bullied on Earth, Aleric was also being bullied because he has no talent. The children her mother referred to as Aleric's friends bullied him and were the ones that forced him to eat the mushroom. They ran away when they discovered that Aleric has died.

Lady Brienne left the room after she thought that her son has slept off. She wanted to go and prepare dinner before he would woke up. The moment she left the room, Jinwoo stood up and went over to the mirror to see his reflection. He saw a glimpse of it when his mother was bathing him but he needed to see it. He was blessed with his mother's features and golden hair. The reflection looking back at him was the most handsome boy he has ever seen and his piercing blue eyes were too heavenly.

"I promise you Aleric, I will no longer bring disgrace to your name and I will love your family likey own. I will make sure all the people that made you suffer pay. Wherever you are, you should rest and be happy because I am about to shake the entire world of Jusavia. From today onwards, I am Jinwoo no more." He made a promise to himself and swore never to be bullied again. 

A week passed since he came to this world and he didn't bother to step outside the castle. He spent his time studying in the library. He is the young lord of the castle so nobody stopped him from spending time in the library even when they all believed he wasn't learning anything since he was too young to learn anything. Lady Brienne was glad her son spends time inside the castle, at least the danger of eating another poison is averted.

Aleric never told them that it was his so-called friends that made him eat the poison. He just told his father he never knew it was poisoned and the friends didn't know about it. After the news that Aleric survived, they came to visit him but Aleric refused to see them and told his mother he wanted to study and needs no distractions. Lady Brienne that always spoils her child didn't question him and did as he said.

Every noble child would be tutored on the kingdom's oral and written text from the age of three. So it was easy for Aleric to study on his own and understand the language of the new world he found himself in. Through study, he discovered that there are many races in the world of Jusavia. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Demons, beastkins, and even Orcs. He also read about the use of mana and aura. Mana is all over the world of Jusavia and everyone is allowed to feel it and use it. Warriors use it to guard their bodies and move faster than ordinarily. With mana, a warrior can deliver attacks impossible to perform. Then Mama can also be used for spells and magic. Witches, wizards, mages, and archmages use it for magic and spell.

Then Aura is different from Mana, while Mana flows around the world and everywhere, Aura is from within a host. Not everyone has access to Aura since it comes from years of experience and training. Warriors are known to have more access to Aura than magicians. 

Aleric kept studying and because of his high level of understanding from his past life, it was easy for him to understand the things he was reading. He discovered he has a weak body and was unable to feel the mana, but that was before he reincarnated. After he woke up, he started feeling mana but he didn't tell anyone.

"The secret lies in breathing." Aleric muttered and crossed his legs in yoga form and closed his eyes and started practicing his breathing. From studies, he discovered that one has to store mana in his body. Mana that is stored in the body is what one uses for magic or fighting, so the more manner you can store the more powerful you become. The two places to store mana are either your stomach or head, after storing them in either of them, you can now distribute it all over your body to strengthen your body. Aleric figured that Mana could be stored in any part of your body, that people only store in the stomach or head because it's the easiest and safest. Aleric decided to go outside the norm and store his mana in his heart. Since the heart is constantly pumping blood that is being distributed over to the body and coming back, he figured if he store his mana in his heart, he would not waste time distributing the mana himself, the distribution would be done automatically. 

Aleric kept trying to store mana in his heart but it was harder than he thought. He kept trying since he was never the type to give up, weeks passed and he made no progress. He was already able to feel mana but he still can't store it. If he was aiming to store it in his stomach he would have succeeded days ago.

"Are you going back to the library?" Lady Brienne asked as she was getting worried that her son is spending too much time in the library.

"Yes, I will be out by dinner." Aleric left without another word. Lady Brienne sighed and allowed her son to go. Aleric knew more than anyone the importance of being strong so he didn't want his peers to be above him anymore. 

He resumed his breathing practice and after a few hours, he opened his eyes and smiled as he has successfully achieved making his heart his mana core. Without Aleric doing anything, the mana automatic started circulating all over his body. He felt it cleaning his blood and body removing all impurity. He closed his eyes once more and started storing more mana in his heart. He stopped the moment the impurity from his body corrupted the mana and polluted the surrounding.

"That's it for today." Aleric stood up and left the library to go and bathe. It was already dark by the time he came out. 

"I need to be fast before dinner is served." He ran towards his room but didn't notice how fast and agile he has become. 

Aleric has succeeded in making his heart his mana core and unknowingly achieved something historical. With his heart serving as his mana core, that means mana is constantly circulating over his body automatically. The best part is the mana is not wasted but will come back to his heart to start the circulating. Unlike everyone in the world of Jusavia that has to concentrate to circulate mana, Aleric does his own automatically. By making his heart his mana core, Aleric has made a new path for himself, a path that will inevitably make him the brightest star in Jusavia but the path is not such an easy one, and only a determined heart can walk it.
