"Come here, sit down." Cho cheong guided Harith to her chair as he held his nose. She brought out a handkerchief from her pocket and offered it to him.

"Thanks" Harith took the handkerchief and pressed it on his nose. There was still much blood on it so the handkerchief was soaked in a few seconds.

Cho cheong offered him another and finally the blood rush was stable.

"You shouldn't be getting into fights now, you know you're still not strong enough. How would you have defended yourself if Dang ju really wanted to attack you?" Cho cheong nagged him with a worried look.

"A fight? He was the one who attacked me when I did nothing to him!" Harith was perplexed at her words. The fuck did she mean he got into a fight, getting into a fight involved two or more parties mutually attacking each other. That was not the case earlier.

"Did you by any chance insult his looks or say anything about his body?" Cho cheong asked.

"...." Harith was speechless. He had a guilty look. He had clearly called that fat bastard a fat bastard earlier...oops.

"Whatever it may be, just make sure to avoid fighting anyone...especially Dang ju. He might be the weakest but there's a reason not many people want to mess with him" She sighed. "I'll go get some ice" She got and walked away.

"Cho cheong" Harith called just before she could leave entirely.

"Hmm?" She turned back.

Harith then ran up to her, took her hand and placed an object in her palm "Here take this" Harith smiled as he talked.

"Oh, What's th-" Cho cheong froze as she saw the object Harith had placed in her palm. "Is this what I think it is?" Cho cheong was shocked. From the energy she felt gathering in her palm...surely this had to be...

"An emerald eye, it's an emerald eye. I saw you badly needed one so I decided to share my other one with you" Harith said with all sincerity.

"N...no I can't accept this" Cho cheong said and tried to return the emerald eye to him.

"I'll be waiting for the ice" Harith said and left leaving her hanging.

Cho cheong's eyes became red as tears threatened to fall off. This guy...this ordinary looking boy that she had meet just a day or two ago just gave her an emerald eye out of sheer kindness. They didn't even know eachother that well for him to take something as valuable as an emerald eye and give it to her. How could she ever repay him?

....

Harith sat back down and sighed. He was tired and feeling sleepy, he couldn't handle waking up early even in his previous life. His tired body was filled with joy though, he had given a friend something they desperately needed. Now he truly knew how great the joy of giving was.

Suddenly blood dripped from the handkerchief and landed on his laps. As Harith looked at the blood he remembered Dang ju and the joy in him was replaced by a desperation for revenge.

"Oi, did you hear?"

"What?"

"They said those people from the Great serpent water sect would be coming again soon. And this time it would be more grandeur"

"Eh....why would they do that?"

"Don't you know the tournament is coming up soon? This frequent challenges are custom before the main tournament I heard"

Harith picked on a conversation that was going on among the students. He sought more knowledge about this place so he tried to listen to every conversation he found meaningful. It seemed those people were from yesterday were from a sect called Water sect. And what was this thing about a tournament?

"Ey do you know the prize for the tournament this year?"

"I'm not too sure but some say the winner will be given the great cultivation cauldron to train with for a month's time!" Harith listened on.

"I'm back" Cho cheong's voice interrupted his concentration. She took the ice pack and placed it gently on his nose. "Do not take this off for an hour ok?!" She was really forceful.

"Ok ok" Harith nodded quickly and held the ice pack himself. "Thank you" Harith suddenly said.

"Hmm?" Cho cheong was confused. Thank you? Who was he thanking? Her? If anyone should be thankful then it was her to him. After all he had just given her something she got beaten up black and blue for and still didn't get it in the end.

But Harith didn't think of it that way. He looked at her in the eyes and smiled. It was a very sincere smile, something that Harith hadn't done in a while. "Thank you for taking care of me" Harith continued.

As an orphan he had the worst possible childhood. He had to learn how to fend for himself from an early age. He took on petty errands from strangers just so they could let him eat a small portion of their food. And he sleep in the dark corners of the streets. He lived like this for a very long time, putting himself through school all alone till the University level.

It was nothing short of a miracle how a child could survive by himself all for so long, put himself through school, and still come out as a decent man. That was the only reason why Harith could leave in that run down apartment before, he considered it an upgrade from his previous living conditions even.

And during this course he had no one else to rely on other than himself. No one to treat him when he got wounded. No one to administer medicine and watch over him when he was having a night fever. Even the girlfriend he had didn't care about him that much. He wasn't used to receiving acts of kindness from people, and Cho cheong's sincere worry about him and her effort to make sure he was ok. Even if it was just the normal thing to do...it still shook his heart.

"Oh, it's nothing. You're my friend aren't you? Friends should look after each other" Cho cheong smiled and took her book.

"Yes.... we're friends" Harith answered quietly as he made a silent vow in his heart.

....

Outside the Sect's medicine House

Elder Jang and the sect master sat with grim faces. The young master was currently being treated inside, they said the injury wasn't life threatening, but since it came close to the place his core resided then it would be a while before he fully recovered.

"So Elder rose came here" The sect master said with a heavy voice.

"yes. I tried to avoid it but the lives of my students were threatened" Elder Jang sighed.

"And so you let my son fight with them? You of all people should know the grievances they have with him. Why would you even let them come close to him!" The sect master was angered. Anyone who had been alive sixteen years ago would know the circumstances around Baxia's birth...especially Elder Jang.

"I know and I tried to stop him but he insisted" Elder Jang was at a loss for what to do. The more he listened to the sect master's words the more his reasoning and suspicions grew. Why would Rose, of all people, barge into the sect unannounced and basically give his students free emerald eyes. But then she immediately left after Baxia's fight even though one match still remained. It was like she came there just for him.

"The signs...the signs...if any harm comes to my son from this incident Elder Jang, the blame would rest on your shoulders" The sect master said with a stinging tongue and left.

Elder Jang sighed. He was in the wrong he clearly knew. There were other ways he could have solved yesterday's incident instead of giving in to Rose's advances. And the way the power of her student sky rocketed immediately Baxia stepped up. It was just too suspicious.

....

The Great water Serpent sect

The Great Water Serpent sect was Located at the north region. That was where the temperatures were coldest. Legends say the ancestor who had stumbled upon that region met a Great Serpent resting in the ice. She killed the serpent and a great energy was given off into the atmosphere. This energy spread throughout the northern region and all who were born there were water elementalists.

The Great water serpent sect was then established by the descendant of the ancestor and their power grew to the point that they controlled the whole northern region. Something rarely seen. Other sects which were located in other regions had yet to fully control them and the Great water serpent sect had made history with it's power. Rumor had it that The current sect master wasn't satisfied with only one region...

...

"Sect master Seo Hwa" A familiar voice resounded through the dark empty space. Elder rose Stood with her head bowed.

A white light appeared in the darkness and the wall's became visible. They were made of Ice!

"Speak" An authoritative voice commanded.

"The mission was a success master, the poison has been planted in The raging flames sect master's son" Rose said.

"Good, you will be commended later for your efforts" The voice spoke with a sign of satisfaction.

"Thank you Master" Rose was visibly joyed as she heard the words.

"And before I forget...how is his battle ability?" The voice asked.

"Nothing too surprising Master. He struggled to defeat an average student of mine. He would be no match for Lady Chae won" Rose said with a smirk.

"Hmm. You may leave now" The voice said.

Rose bowed once again and left the cold space.

"The child of prophecy eh? And struggling with an average student of mine...interesting" The voice wondered.

The first thing he noticed was the smell. The air in the room stank of blood and death, but it wasn't a sweet scent like that of freshly spilled entrails or a butcher's shop. It smelled more like the sour tang of old vomit mixed with urine, which made him think of his mother's chamber pot after she'd been sick for days on end. He wrinkled his nose at the thought and tried to ignore the odor as best he could, though it didn't do much good. His stomach still growled loudly enough to make him wince."You're awake," said a voice from behind him. "That's a start."He turned around slowly, trying not to look too eager. A man sat against one wall, watching him intently. He had dark hair and eyes, and a scar ran across his face just below his left eye. He wore black leather armor and carried a longsword strapped to his back. His name came to mind almost immediately: Captain Rolfe.Rolfe stood up and walked over to the bedside.
