“This can’t be possible,” Benjamin said with a crackling voice.

His colleagues averted their gazes at him, they wondered why he yelled.

Benjamin’s face turned gloomy as he glanced at his phone screen; his hand balled into a fist, and his grip tightened on his phone. A video recording of his girlfriend riding a man passionately was playing before his eyes.

He felt a surge of pain and heartbreak, as he heard her moan in pleasure. Without hesitation. Benjamin threw the hand towel away. His work as a janitor no longer matters at the moment, he ignored his colleagues who tried to talk to him.

Benjamin flagged down a cap, his mind racing through several thoughts, each sending a shock wave within him, his heart shattered into a million pieces.

Nora Murphy was the only lady he had loved; he had worked every single day of his life and with all his salary he made sure to divide them with her to make sure he provide for her.

She was the only person that understood him, she stayed with him and loved him regardless of what people said about him.

He remembered the first day he met her when he helped her fix her car. Her smile almost blinded Benjamin that day, all throughout that night. He kept thinking about her. He wanted to know her but was scared of taking the step to ask her name or number. Benjamin backed away when he realized she was never going to look at him.

The second time they met was when she visited his master’s herbal store to get a healing balm for her grandfather.

They both became friends, and they kept their love story going; they even made plans to get married when she turned twenty-two in a few months.

Benjamin took a glance at his phone screen, his heart sank deeply, causing him to feel more pain.

The cab came to a halt at the entrance of Nora’s apartment, he paid the cab man as he made his way to the entrance. The door to her living room was left open; he shook his head, pushing the door open and entered.

Nora’s clothes were thrown all over the floor, Benjamin’s face hardened and jaw clenched.

He heard her giggling from her room; his heart kept pounding fast; Benjamin stood heartbroken for a minute.

“He will be here soon, I sent him the video.” The man giggled.

“He is a fool to think I love him.” She spat, “Someone who couldn’t afford a decent fragrance,”

Benjamin kicked the door open; his eyelid blinked twice when he saw Nora wrapped in the arms of another man; both stared at each other lovingly. Benjamin couldn’t believe who the man was when their gaze met.

Nora was cheating on him with his boss, Nathan Reed.

“Wh…. What’s going on here.” Benjamin asked with a low but dangerous tone.

Nora wrapped the sheet around herself, as she looked Benjamin in his eyes. Benjamin stood still like his leg was glued to the spot. He felt a sharp pain in his heart like he was stabbed with a knife.

Nora rolled her eyes at him in disgust, she showed no sign of shame or remorse. “What does it feel like, don’t tell me your poverty has affected your sight.” She replied coldly.

Benjamin averted his gaze at his boss, Nathan Reed, who was slowly wearing his pants by the side of the bed.

“What are you doing here, Benjamin? You are supposed to be in the office,” he said as an evil smirk formed on the side of his lips.

It was his plan to send Benjamin the videotape; he knew Benjamin would rush over the moment he had seen the video.

“How dare you touch my girlfriend,” Benjamin’s face turned crimson, his fist clenched, and his eyes were blazing in fury.

Nathan Reed chuckled, “I don’t know if she is your girlfriend; the last time I asked, she told me she was single and ready to mingle. So, as a bachelor, I took the opportunity to take a shot,”

“Nora, why? What has come over you? Why would you betray the trust I have for you.”

Nora Murphy furrowed her brow; her expression was mixed from plain to anger.

“There is nothing to explain, he has been the one footing all my bills lately. If you had done that, we wouldn’t have been in this situation. Nathan is a better man than you; he is rich, smart, romantic and caring unlike you, a Nobody. you should think about fixing your broken life before you fall in love.” Her voice was filled with contempt.

Benjamin’s eyes widened, as he stumbled back. He thought their relationship was built on trust and love, but he just got the biggest shock of his life; her words hit him like a sledgehammer, breaking his heart even more.

“All this is about money?”

“I had no knowledge you are this smart,” she snapped. “You have no class, no money. What can you afford, some cheap groceries, cheap birthday gifts? Nathan got me an invitation for a banquet with the Long family. Can you do that? Hell no.”

The Long family are the second richest family in Morristown. They are know to owned several businesses and investments, a deal with them would put one in the spotlight.

Nathan Reed laughed; he was enjoying the show.

“Let me remind you, my wedding with Nathan is taking place soon.”

“That’s nice of you, Nora. He should be there so he could get the leftovers, I wouldn’t want him to die of hunger.” Nathan added as he smirked.

Benjamin’s eyes burned from the humiliation, but he refused to fall. Not while they were looking at him with a smug smile. He wasn’t going to take action, as he suppressed his anger to avoid doing something he would later regret.

He turned to leave when Nathan called him. “I came with your termination letter; there is no need to come over to the office.”

He threw an envelope at Benjamin, “Take it and leave us.”

Benjamin furiously furrowed his brow, “I will make sure, you both will regret this.”

They burst into uncontrollably laughter, “look who will make us regret,” Nora said, her tone was icy.

‘Leave before we call the security guards to throw you out.” Nathan chimed in.

Benjamin exhaled heavily, as he felt a surge of pain and anger coursing through his vein. He will surely make them pay.

Outside the apartment, he shoved out his phone and deleted Nora’s number and every picture of her he had on his phone. While he was doing that, a black Range Rover stopped before him.

A young lady in her twenties, her hair was cascading down her shoulder. She exuded elegance, and her beauty was almost ethereal, like a queen herself.

“Mr. Scott, I have been looking all over for you. I even tried contacting you but you weren’t answering your calls."

Benjamin raised his brow, “Who are you, and how can I assist you? How did you find me?”

I owe this establishment,” he said firmly.Nathan burst into uncontrollable laughter, then frowned. “you must have forgotten to take your medication, Benjamin.” He continued. “Even in your dream, I don't think you can even owe a place like this. You are a loser, and people like you aren't supposed to step foot into a place like the Grand Land Hotel.” He paused and continued, “Don't tell me you came here with Arianna because there is no way they would grant access through the gate.” He laughed, “You are now her handbag, following her everywhere she is going. I can see you are trying to pinch off her, I am going to expose you.”Benjamin's eyes blazed in fury; Nathan was stepping more than he should have. “I am n

The line connected. “Hello, Allen. It's Nathan Reed.” He voiced calmly.“Oh! It's about the upcoming project, I would like to get a hint about anything that we are to expect tomorrow.”There was a brief silence over the phone.“Nathan, I don't think it's possible?”Nathan's face turned pale, “Why?”“The project is being organised by the young master of the Scott family. None of us know how he looks or have ever come in contact with him.”Nathan didn't seem to comprehend, “If the project was organised by the Scott family, who are known as the most influential family in the city, why was it announced by James Sinclair.”“James is the spokesman to the Scott family; He is in charge of all their dealings.”He scratched his chin, with his brow confused. “How do we get to the Young master, I really need to get this deal.” He sounded desperate
