"You old woman, what's your problem? Get things done so we can eat. Do you want us to starve to death?" Isabella added. "And you, Jessica, ain't you supposed to be helping her out, or has your laziness gotten into your head?" Isabella yelled.

Jessica was so annoyed by Isabella's words. Jessica was older than Isabella. It was so shocking to her that Isabella was yelling at Jessica, and not only that, Isabella still yelled at Hazel, an elderly woman that was fit to give birth to her.

"Why will you talk to Jessica in such a manner, Isabella? Did you forget she's your elder sister?" Hazel chimed in, countering Isabella, for being rude and disrespectful.

"Shut up, you old woman! You should be beneath the ground by now. Why the hell are you still in this mansion ain't you supposed to be retired by now? I think you should be sacked. You are too old to even do a thing again,” Isabella said with a scoff

“I think it's the right time to make my mum mother know about this, you are just too old for this job," Isabella added, her voice racing in anger as she got pissed off by Hazel’s words, scolding her on her action towards Jessica.

Jessica shifted her gaze towards Hazel, and with a warm smile she said, "It's fine. Let her say all she can to me. All I have to do is keep ignoring her."

Isabella was so infuriated by Jessica's words. Walking closer to her, she grabbed Jessica by the hair and yanked it forcefully.

“Ahhhhhh my hair,” Jessica let out a shout.

"Let her go," Hazel said, grabbing Isabella by the hands, pulling it out of Jessica's hair.

With the force at which Hazel used in pulling Isabella's hands off Jessica’s hair, sent Isabella flung to the ground, mistakenly injuring herself.

Blood slowly rolled from Isabella's head to her eyes. At first, she didn't notice she was injured. it was when she felt a liquid rolling from her forehead to her eyes as she used her hands to feel it, when she realized it was blood, she flinched

Seeing it was blood, Isabella let out a sharp cry. "Mother! Hazel has injured me!" she cried out really hard, that her voice could be heard all around the mansion.

Hearing Isabella's crying voice, Abigail wondered what had happened, then she came into view to check for herself.

"What's happening here?" Abigail asked, her voice hasty. Seeing Isabella on the ground crying made Abigail furious and angry, wanting to know what had happened.

Her eyes slightly shifted as they caught up to Isabella's injured head. The wound wasn't even that intense, but the way Isabella exaggerated it made everything feel as if her head was being plucked out.

"Mum, it's all Hazel's fault! She wants to kill me. Sack her, Mum! Sack her from this job. I have hated her for a long time. She's way too old for this job. Sack her!" Isabella insisted, tears gushing out from her eyes like a baby.

Abigail also had this in mind. She had wanted to sack Hazel a long time ago but decided not to, with the reason of letting her console Jessica — because she noticed that anytime Hazel was close to Jessica, Jessica tended to be calm. Not knowing the full reason why she acted so, but Abigail saw this as an opportunity. Now that Abigail had gotten what she wanted from Jessica, she didn't care about anything concerning her anymore. Therefore, sacking Hazel was the next thing she would execute.

Abigail shifted her gaze to Hazel as she spoke in a cold voice. "So because you don't have a child, that's why you want to kill mine, you witch."

Abigail's words were so deep to Hazel that she felt something sharp passing through her chest. These words reminded her of her late sons, who died years ago. It all happened when she came to the Creek family for her duty, and all of a sudden she received a call that both her sons were shot dead. It was unforgettable to her till date. It wasn't discovered who had mothered her sons, and Hazel had been looking for justice since then. Reminding her of it now made tears gushed out from hazel eyes.

"Hey, don't shed crocodile tears here. Who knows if you were the one that even killed them?" Abigail accused, pointing fingers at Hazel.

Hazel was so pained that she felt like giving up — probably falling to the ground and dying — because the world mattered nothing to her anymore if the only thing she cherished as hers was no more.

Jessica gently held Hazel by the hands, then squeezed them gently, getting her attention. Looking straight into Hazel's eyes, Jessica let out a warm smile as she said, "I'm here, always, for you. Did you forget I'm also your child you raised me up, you were there just like a mother would be for her children? Don't let her words get into your head again."

Hazel smiled back at Jessica as she nodded her head.

Glaring at both Jessica and Hazel, Abigail's face frowned. Her eyes got red. The irate she felt was so high that if she were to have a gun, she would end it all.

Years back, Isabella was warned by her mother Abigail never to act harshly towards Jessica becouse of her plan not to be ruined, she told her to make Jessica feel loved.

"Isabella, don't worry about them," Abigail said, helping Isabella up.

"It's like you forgot who is the woman of the house, right? I own this mansion and everything of the Creek family now, so don't joke with me," Abigail added before walking out.

Jessica's eyes widened in realization. “Owner of Creek's properties?”Jessica muttered. The words kept ringing in her mind as she began imagining that her stepmother had been planning this all along; perhaps her suspicious she was having for her stepmother was true.
