Chapter 6

"Go upstairs and get some rest. I need to attend a zoom meeting urgently." Richmond said as his phone beeped.

"Sure sir. Thanks for finding me sir. Thank you so much." Richard answered.

"I had to. You're my grandson. My own blood." Richmond replied.

With a clap of Richmond's hands,the maids and the butler stormed the living room immediately.

"My grandson is finally back. Please take him to the room and give him whatever he wants. I don't want to hear any complain from him." Richmond said and they all bowed.

"Let's go young master." The butler said and Richard followed them.

They reached a white door and the butler opened the door.

The room was huge and gorgeous. A king size bed laying in the middle of the room,a huge television hanging by the wall and a wardrobe by the order side. A big window and a balcony with a beautiful view of the city.

"Is there anything else you need young master?" The butler asked and Richard could only shake his head.

They all left and Richard was all alone in the room exploring and checking everything out.

He opened the wardrobe and it looked like a room. It was filled with clothes,shoes, bags and lots of perfumes.

He came out and jumped on the bed. It felt as if the bed was going to swallow him. The bed was very soft.

He went to the bathroom and admired the bathtub and nice shower. He took his bath and went off to sleep.

He never imagined in his life that he was going to have this kind of life. That he was going to find out he has a grandfather who was the CEO of Campbell's Consortium.

He had gone though a lot the past few days so he deserved some rest.

He woke up the next morning and the butler walked in.

"Good morning young master. Your grandfather is waiting for you downstairs." He bowed.

"Oh! Good morning." Richard said and moved towards the door.

"No! Young master. You must bath and change into a befitting cloth. You have to start acting like an heir now young master. You have to go play golf with you grandfather."

Richard got into the bathroom and in an hour he was done.

He wore a white short and a white shirt with a white cap which has been arranged by the maids while he was bathing. He walked downstairs and saw that his grandfather was ready. They both were wearing the same cloth.

"Good morning grandfather." He greeted.

"Good morning son. Let's go play some golf." Richmond chuckled and Richard followed

"I've never played golf before so I'm going to learn from you." Richard said sincerely.

A fruit juice was handed over to the both of them.

They both got into the G_wagon after the butler opened the door for them.

They got to the club house after sitting in the car and chit chating for an hour and walked into the golf course with the butler holding their clubs. Richard was surprised as he saw new and influential people.

"Welcome to our world. I own this place." Richmond whispered the last sentence and Richard eyes bulged.

"How many things do you own?" He asked.

"You'll get to know soon." Richmond said.

They played and at first Richard was making mistakes and couldn't get a hold of it but later,he started playing like a pro. He was even getting better at it that his grandfather.

"You're getting a hang of it son?" Richmond said and Richard nodded.

After playing golf for what seems to be like three hours,Richmond started introducing Richard to the other members of the club. They both went back home after what seems to be like three hours.

"It was so much fun grandfather." Richard said as they got home.

"Yeah. When you started playing and you were losing it." Richmond laughed and they both laughed.

"Go take your bath and come downstairs. I have some things to hand over to you." Richmond said and Richard went back to his room.

After eating breakfast together,Richmond handed over a black card to him.

"Grandfather! This is a black card. You're giving this to me?" He asked.

"Yes and I'll transfer some money into your account since you'll be resuming tomorrow I wouldn't want you to lack anything." Richmond said and Richard couldn't believe his eyes.

Only few people have this black card.

"Desmond will take you to the garage so you can pick a car of your choice and you could go for shopping after class tomorrow. That's if you want and if you need anything else,feel free to tell me." Richmond said and Richard was still staring at the black card.

"I wish grandma Eleanor was here. She took good care of me while I was all alone. She died because of me." Richard said and tears brimmed down his eyes.

"I'm so sorry about that. Don't worry. We'll give her a befitting burial and make sure her children never lacks anything too." Richmond assured.

"I want to see her now." Richard said and Richmond nodded.

"Let's go see her and pay our last respect to her if that's what you want ." They both stood up to go to the hospital.

The driver drove them to St Matthew hospital.

"Hi. I'm here to see Eleanor. Nurse Williams told me of her death." Richard said.

"I'm Nurse Williams. Please follow me." The nurse proceeded and they both followed her.

They walked into the mortuary and there was Eleanor's lifeless body.

Richard shut his eyes while Richmond patted his shoulder.

"Cry all you want. Let it all out." He said.

"I wish she was still alive grandpa. This woman has done lots of things for me. She took care of me and made sure I went to nice schools. She prioritied my education. She even worked as a cleaner just to satisfy my needs." Richard explained.

"Does she have other children or family members who you know? Maybe we could just give them some money?" Richmond asked but Richard shaked his head.

He had never seen Eleanor with anyone. She had no family member,just friends in the neighborhood.

"No! She has no family member. I've never seen her talk about family neither has anyone come to visit her before. It was just the two of us." Richard explained in tears as Richmond patted his back.

"Don't worry. You'll be fine. Let finish with the transfer of properties and everything then we'll give her a befitting burial. I just want you to concentrate son. I know you love her but don't let your emotions get the best of you. You have school and the company resting on your shoulders." Richmond said and Richard cleaned his tears with his handkerchief from his trouser pocket.

"I'll make you proud grandfather. I'll try my best and work hard and I'll make sure I won't disappoint you." Richard assured and his grandfather hugged him tightly.

"I trust you you have the Campbell blood in you so I know you can't disappoint me." Richmond said and Richard was super proud. At least someone believes in him,someone trusts him to put such a huge responsibly on him.
