"Master, we've arrived," Dark Knight broke the silence, glancing at Leon who had his head on the seat as they pulled up before a magnificent hall.
"Alright," Leon muttered, alighting from the car. After treating Dark Knight, he went to get a pair of new clothes. Though not formal, it was enough to attend the banquet. While buying the clothes, he had asked Dark Knight about Camila. It turned out that his new wife was from one of the top families in Oakdale and also the eldest daughter of the family. The Ashford Family. Well, he wasn't too surprised, he had guessed her identity. But he still hadn't expected it. "Sir, here," Dark Knight suddenly called, handing Leon a dark wrapped bag as he was about to walk into the building. "What's this?" Leon frowned slightly, taking the bag from Dark Knight. "Since you're attending a birthday banquet, I felt it wouldn't be befitting if you had no gift, so I prepared one." "I see," Leon muttered, staring at the bag. "Thanks." With that, he turned around and walked into the building. As for checking what was in it, he didn't bother to. He knew the Dark Knight. Whatever he had prepared was worth it, so there was no need to go through the trouble of checking it. Just as Leon was about to walk into the hall, a voice sounded: "Stop, you can't go in," the security guards stopped Leon, stretching out their hands. "Your invitation card?" they demanded, eyes on Leon. "Ermmm..." Leon fumbled around his pocket, not knowing what to say. His wife hadn't given him one, and he had also forgotten to ask for one. That was a big slip-up on his part. Seemed like he would have to place a call to her. Else, he wouldn't be able to get into the hall. Pulling out his phone, Leon prepared to dial the number, when a haughty sneer sounded right behind: "And look who we have here!" "A pauper, trying to make his way into a high-end place to freeload!" Leon's expression darkened as he turned around, wondering who it was. Standing behind him was Katie dressed in a red, pricey gown. Beside her stood the man he had seen with her the day before, also dressed luxuriously. The two stepped forward slowly, eyes held disgust as they glared at Leon. "So this is what you result in, huh?" Katie scoffed, raising her voice, causing the crowd to gather around. "Leon, don't you have any bit of shame, huh?" she continued, a smirk curled up slowly at the corner of her mouth. "After I divorced you for being useless, you still had the guts to follow me here and try to sneak into the venue?" "Are you even worthy?" "See how you're dressed?" "What's wrong with my dressing?" Leon glanced down briefly, then lost interest. "Do you think wearing those fake clothes would qualify you to enter this place?" Katie scoffed, disdain all over her voice. Leon frowned slightly, wondering what was wrong with his clothes. In truth, when he went to the store to get the clothes, Dark Knight was the one who had selected the clothes and paid for it. He had no idea what brand they were; neither did he care about it. Besides, why the heck was this woman trying to antagonize him? She had just divorced him, and yet, she didn't want to let him be. "You'd better hurry up and get the heck out of here, else I'll ask the security to throw you out," Katie scorned, relishing in the moment as the crowd had begun to whisper. Though Leon's clothes didn't look cheap, from Katie's words, they considered it a fake brand. "Are you done?" Leon asked lazily, as he couldn't be bothered. "I..." "Then get the heck out of my face and stop being a nuisance to my eyes and ears," Leon spat, proceeding to ignore Katie. "How dare you insult my wife," the man, James beside Katie, growled, stepping forward, his eyes blazing with fury. "Wife?" Leon's mouth curled up into a mocking smile as he glanced at James, then at Katie. “That’s your wife?” Leon let out a soft chuckle. “You have poor taste.” He mused, clicking his tongue. "What in hell do you think you're saying?" James growled, his expression dark as coal. Katie was no different; her expression paled as Leon spoke. She knew if she allowed him to say anything, he would expose her disgusting act. "Honey, hurry up and stop him," she whispered, urging James. "Security, throw this man out," James ordered, turning to the two guards by the door. "But..." the two guards hesitated. Leon had done nothing wrong. Besides, this bickering was between them; they didn't want to get involved. They had been trained to respect everyone. If the Ashford family were to find out they showed favoritism, they would lose their jobs. "Are you trying to go against my order?" James barked, his expression getting darker with each second. "No...no..." the guards stuttered, still not knowing how to explain. Everyone of the guests today was important. Though they didn't know who Leon was, his dress signified he wasn't someone of a low status. Not to talk about the fact that the aura emanating from was not something they were willing to face. "Good, if that's the case, then kick that loser out of this place," James threatened, visibly mad the two were refusing his orders. "But..." the two security guards hesitated, clearly not wanting to lose their job, and at the same time, they didn't want to go near Leon. "You either go and kick that loser out for me, or I report you to your employer," James threatened, his face darkening even more, seeing as the men refused to listen to him. "I..." "I'm here," "What have my employees done for you to want to report time to me," a feminine voice sounded, as calm, steady footsteps echoed the place just as the guards were struggling on how to answer James.Latest Chapter
Mass Poisoning
The next second, under the watchful gaze of everyone, the old lady gasped, as she opened her eyes."Grandmother!" Camila screamed, hugging Anna who was still gasping for air."Careful, she's not too good yet," Leon chuckled, pulling Camila away."Impossible," The doctor's eyes nearly flew out of their sockets as he rushed towards Anna.Bringing out his equipment, he began to examine her. A while later, he nearly collapsed as he couldn't believe what he had seen. The poison was all gone. How did Leon do it?Though the process looked simple on the surface, he could swear it was not simple at all."Grandmother, let me help you," Leon ignored the doctor, helping Anna stand."Leon," Anna called softly, feeling a wave of guilt in her heart."Yes, grandmother," Leon smiled gently, he didn't hold the old woman's disbelief on her. After all, even if he was the one, he wouldn't have believed it."I'm sorry for not believing in what you said," Anna said slowly."It's fine, grandmother, I underst

The moment Leon said that, everyone blinked, staring at him, wondering what had gotten into his head."Sister..." Allen wanted to say something, but a glare from Camila shut him up."Leon, what are you saying?" Camila asked slowly, for some reason, she wanted to believe Leon. But she was the one who had arranged the banquet, and supervised everything, so how could the drink be poisoned."I....""Don't listen to his nonsense," One of the family members cut off Leon when was about to explain."Are you trying to say we'll dare poison our grandmother?""Or do you think Camila who organized this banquet didn't make sure everything was perfect?"Leon's expression shifted but he didn't say more. Seemed like that was the culprit talking.Though he wasn't really sure about it. But he had dealt with so many issues in the past that he knew how to identify a suspect easily."Sorry about that, you can carry on," Leon smiled and didn't say more.It would be pointless, if he continued to argue tryin

The hall fell silent, everyone stared at Leon incredulously, not believing their eyes.Allen's face burned, eyes red as he glared at Leon, wishing he could cut the latter into a thousand pieces.Camila, though shocked, smiled lightly. She had been a bit worried Leon would cave in to her brother's threat. But it seemed like she was thinking too much. Though a pauper, he seemed to have some backbone.Seemed like she had accidentally picked up a gem. Well, she wanted to see how far he could go."Good, very good," Allen broke into laughter, pulling everyone back to their senses."I like you,""But I don't," Leon shot back.Again, the hall fell silent, no one daring to say anything. And even Camila was shocked even more.He was just too straightforward. In truth, no one would like someone like Allen, but no one would dare say it to his face. Yet, her husband had done that."You..." Allen gritted his teeth, glaring daggers at Leon."You've successfully pissed me off," He forced a smile, his

"Miss Camila," James instantly broke out into a smile, hurrying up to Camila, approaching the scene slowly."I'm James, Son of Joe Parker," James continued, trying to flatter Camila as he stretched his hands out for a handshake.Camila stopped in her tracks, shot James a glance, then walked past him as if she hadn't seen him.Instantly, James' face burned, gritting his teeth as he tried to suppress the wave of embarrassment and anger that hit him. After all, Camila's status was far above his. He had to respect her no matter what.Taking in a deep breath, he turned around to see where she was headed only to freeze as she stopped by Leon."Are you good?" Camila spoke slowly, her voice low, but enough to send shock waves into the crowd.Who here didn't know Camila. She was a cold CEO, managing the Ashford companies in the city.Yet, she was asking a man of an unknown origin if he was okay.Katie blinked, as she couldn't believe her ears. What in hell was happening? How did that useless L

"I...""It's fine, answer the call," Leon gestured, allowing Dark Knight to answer the call.Minutes later, Dark Knight ended the call and placed the phone down slowly."You know Master, it's the rest of the members that called just now," Dark Knight spoke slowly, avoiding Leon's gaze.Hearing this, Leon's expression darkened, but he didn't say anything and just listened to Dark Knight."I informed them you were alive after the call and now, they are all seeking to come," Dark Knight carried on, grinning slightly as he looked forward to the arrival of the members. Finally, they could gather again like they used to. It had been five years since such a gathering occurred."Inform them to head back," Leon instructed, his voice low but firm.“I know you’re excited,” He continued, his expression softening,"But that's not a good idea."He knew his members. With their status and the excitement flowing through their veins of wanting to meet him, there was a huge chance they would cause a loc
