"Master, we've arrived," Dark Knight broke the silence, glancing at Leon who had his head on the seat as they pulled up before a magnificent hall.
"Alright," Leon muttered, alighting from the car. After treating Dark Knight, he went to get a pair of new clothes. Though not formal, it was enough to attend the banquet. While buying the clothes, he had asked Dark Knight about Camila. It turned out that his new wife was from one of the top families in Oakdale and also the eldest daughter of the family. The Ashford Family. Well, he wasn't too surprised, he had guessed her identity. But he still hadn't expected it. "Sir, here," Dark Knight suddenly called, handing Leon a dark wrapped bag as he was about to walk into the building. "What's this?" Leon frowned slightly, taking the bag from Dark Knight. "Since you're attending a birthday banquet, I felt it wouldn't be befitting if you had no gift, so I prepared one." "I see," Leon muttered, staring at the bag. "Thanks." With that, he turned around and walked into the building. As for checking what was in it, he didn't bother to. He knew the Dark Knight. Whatever he had prepared was worth it, so there was no need to go through the trouble of checking it. Just as Leon was about to walk into the hall, a voice sounded: "Stop, you can't go in," the security guards stopped Leon, stretching out their hands. "Your invitation card?" they demanded, eyes on Leon. "Ermmm..." Leon fumbled around his pocket, not knowing what to say. His wife hadn't given him one, and he had also forgotten to ask for one. That was a big slip-up on his part. Seemed like he would have to place a call to her. Else, he wouldn't be able to get into the hall. Pulling out his phone, Leon prepared to dial the number, when a haughty sneer sounded right behind: "And look who we have here!" "A pauper, trying to make his way into a high-end place to freeload!" Leon's expression darkened as he turned around, wondering who it was. Standing behind him was Katie dressed in a red, pricey gown. Beside her stood the man he had seen with her the day before, also dressed luxuriously. The two stepped forward slowly, eyes held disgust as they glared at Leon. "So this is what you result in, huh?" Katie scoffed, raising her voice, causing the crowd to gather around. "Leon, don't you have any bit of shame, huh?" she continued, a smirk curled up slowly at the corner of her mouth. "After I divorced you for being useless, you still had the guts to follow me here and try to sneak into the venue?" "Are you even worthy?" "See how you're dressed?" "What's wrong with my dressing?" Leon glanced down briefly, then lost interest. "Do you think wearing those fake clothes would qualify you to enter this place?" Katie scoffed, disdain all over her voice. Leon frowned slightly, wondering what was wrong with his clothes. In truth, when he went to the store to get the clothes, Dark Knight was the one who had selected the clothes and paid for it. He had no idea what brand they were; neither did he care about it. Besides, why the heck was this woman trying to antagonize him? She had just divorced him, and yet, she didn't want to let him be. "You'd better hurry up and get the heck out of here, else I'll ask the security to throw you out," Katie scorned, relishing in the moment as the crowd had begun to whisper. Though Leon's clothes didn't look cheap, from Katie's words, they considered it a fake brand. "Are you done?" Leon asked lazily, as he couldn't be bothered. "I..." "Then get the heck out of my face and stop being a nuisance to my eyes and ears," Leon spat, proceeding to ignore Katie. "How dare you insult my wife," the man, James beside Katie, growled, stepping forward, his eyes blazing with fury. "Wife?" Leon's mouth curled up into a mocking smile as he glanced at James, then at Katie. “That’s your wife?” Leon let out a soft chuckle. “You have poor taste.” He mused, clicking his tongue. "What in hell do you think you're saying?" James growled, his expression dark as coal. Katie was no different; her expression paled as Leon spoke. She knew if she allowed him to say anything, he would expose her disgusting act. "Honey, hurry up and stop him," she whispered, urging James. "Security, throw this man out," James ordered, turning to the two guards by the door. "But..." the two guards hesitated. Leon had done nothing wrong. Besides, this bickering was between them; they didn't want to get involved. They had been trained to respect everyone. If the Ashford family were to find out they showed favoritism, they would lose their jobs. "Are you trying to go against my order?" James barked, his expression getting darker with each second. "No...no..." the guards stuttered, still not knowing how to explain. Everyone of the guests today was important. Though they didn't know who Leon was, his dress signified he wasn't someone of a low status. Not to talk about the fact that the aura emanating from was not something they were willing to face. "Good, if that's the case, then kick that loser out of this place," James threatened, visibly mad the two were refusing his orders. "But..." the two security guards hesitated, clearly not wanting to lose their job, and at the same time, they didn't want to go near Leon. "You either go and kick that loser out for me, or I report you to your employer," James threatened, his face darkening even more, seeing as the men refused to listen to him. "I..." "I'm here," "What have my employees done for you to want to report time to me," a feminine voice sounded, as calm, steady footsteps echoed the place just as the guards were struggling on how to answer James.Latest Chapter

(The next day)Leon stepped into the company once again, a smile plastered on his face as he walked in.Yesterday, he managed to break the last layer of the seal, which in turn allowed his cultivation to soar to the Golden Core stage. His sister's seals were almost always of ten levels, with the tenth layer being the weakest. But then, the tenth layer that he had managed to break was because it was already weakened right from the start. With the help of the Bloodbane fruit and other herbs, he was able to accomplish that.He didn't even know all this until this morning, as he had been knocked out cold. The pain had been too much, and his endurance was seriously lacking. He wondered how he would be able to break the rest of the seal. The herbs he would need would need to be far more potent than this one.Shaking his head, he pushed all these thoughts to the back of his mind and was about to walk into the elevator when a figure appeared before him."Nora?" Leon frowned slightly, staring
Mercy?
The next second, the door shot open and a lady rushed in clutching her stomach, her expression scrunched as she stood before Alice.Alice froze for a moment before coming back to her senses, then rushed towards the counter when Leon's voice sounded."Stretch out your hands; let me take a look.""Huh?" The lady who hadn't noticed Leon before froze, blinking as she stared at him."Alissa, this is Dr. Leon, our new head doctor," Alice quickly introduced, easing the awkward situation."Let him have a look," she added, turning to Leon. She wanted to know what he could do. Since the CEO had personally brought him over, she was sure he had some level of skill.Alissa nodded and slowly stretched her hands towards Leon.Taking her hands, Leon placed two fingers on her pulse, reading it.After a while, he released her hands and stood up."You've got some minor complications," Leon spoke, walking towards Alissa."You should be better with a few needles.""Huh?" Alissa and Alice stared at each ot

"Ma'am," Nora turned towards Camila who at some point had stepped out of the office."It's fine Nora," Camila nodded, her gaze landing on Leon again. This time, she was really shocked. She had been watching the fight for a while now and seeing how Leon had easily subdued her bodyguard made her wonder what kind of person she had married. She had heard the commotion and at first thought maybe it was one of the few times Nora caught an assassin as it had happened quite a few times. But then, she heard Leon's voice and decided to step out to see what was happening."You should Inform her of my identity, she wouldn't believe me," Leon broke the silence, dusting away the invisible dusts on his clothes."Sorry about that," Camila apologized. She was the one who had told him to keep it a secret. But then, she didn't expect he would come looking for her."I...."Leon's phone suddenly rang just as he was about to say something.Glancing at the Caller's ID, he muted the call and faced Camila,"I
No Way?
The air seemed to freeze the moment the voice sounded.Instantly, all the ladies turned around sharply, wanting to see who it was. But the moment they laid eyes on the figure, they froze and swallowed.Without uttering another word, the ladies scrambled out of the infirmary, not daring to look back."Miss..." Alice panicked, walking forward, not knowing what to say as she glanced at Leon, who seemed rather relaxed. It was unexpected for the president to come here, and yet she had. What the heck was happening?Camila, on the other hand, glanced at Leon, who sat comfortably, acting as if he couldn't see her, which made something in her heart stir.Though she had said they were not going to interfere in each other's private lives, that didn't mean he was going to flirt with other ladies in the company during work time."Miss, you can't blame Dr. Leon; it was the ladies who said they were sick and needed treatment," Alice spoke, breaking the silence, noticing the slight frown on Camila's

Stepping out of the house, Rowan let out a slow breath and shook his head once, the air hitting his face as if to clear whatever was left behind in that place. He stood there for a moment without moving, his expression calm again, like everything that just happened had already been filed away and sealed. Then he reached into his pocket, took out his phone, and dialed a number. “Pick me up,” he said simply. “I’ll send the address.” He ended the call without waiting for a reply. Less than three minutes later, the quiet street was filled with the low hum of engines as a line of black luxury cars pulled up in perfect order, stopping neatly in front of him like a trained formation. The doors opened almost at the same time, and a man in his late forties stepped out from the front car, his posture straight, his presence steady as he walked toward Rowan. “Sir,” the man said respectfully, stopping a short distance away. “The car is ready.” Rowan didn’t respond immediately. He just loo
