"I..."

"It's fine, answer the call," Leon gestured, allowing Dark Knight to answer the call.

Minutes later, Dark Knight ended the call and placed the phone down slowly.

"You know Master, it's the rest of the members that called just now," Dark Knight spoke slowly, avoiding Leon's gaze.

Hearing this, Leon's expression darkened, but he didn't say anything and just listened to Dark Knight.

"I informed them you were alive after the call and now, they are all seeking to come," Dark Knight carried on, grinning slightly as he looked forward to the arrival of the members.

Finally, they could gather again like they used to. It had been five years since such a gathering occurred.

"Inform them to head back," Leon instructed, his voice low but firm.

“I know you’re excited,” He continued, his expression softening,

"But that's not a good idea."

He knew his members. With their status and the excitement flowing through their veins of wanting to meet him, there was a huge chance they would cause a lockdown in the country.

With that scale of influence, his enemies would pick up on the fact that he was still alive and that would be a problem.

If he was back to his peak, that wouldn't have been a problem. But now? It would be better if they avoided it.

"We'll meet again when the time is right," Leon concluded, his gaze flickering as he looked at Dark Knight.

"Understood Master," Dark Knight nodded and pulled out his phone once again placing a call to the men

The Master was right. As for the reunion, that would have to be shifted to a later date.

As for when that would be, he had no idea.

After ending the call, Dark Knight sat again, staring at Leon.

"Master, what should we do now?" Dark Knight broke the silence again, awaiting orders from Leon.

"First, begin the investigation of what happened that night," Leon spoke, his voice dropping low sending chills down Dark Knight's spine.

"I want to know those who were involved and how they had managed to poison me,"

"Yes, Sir," Dark Knight acknowledged, he also wanted to know exactly how they had managed to poison the Master.

The Master was also known as the Medical God. This was not only because of his healing skills, but also due to his ability to identify poison and detoxify poisons.

He could identify any kind of poison just by its smell or its taste if it was mixed into something.

Yet, somehow, they had managed to bypass all of these and poisoned him. How did it happen?

Who helped them?

"Also, use our connections to search, I want the whereabouts of my sister," Leon sighed, thinking about his sister.

He didn't know if she was alive or dead. But judging from her strength which could rival Dark Knight's, he was sure she would be safe, but heavily injured.

Because that night, he was not the only one who was poisoned.

Everyone in the entire family had been poisoned. Including the maids and the butler.

That night no one was spared. It was a clean calculated massacre.

And his poison? He was given the highest dose. Well, he would have been able to suppress it and deal with them all if they didn't overdose him.

And if they hadn't poisoned the entire family, his parents and sister, alongside the butler were enough to hold the fort

Taking in another deep breath, Leon shook his head and looked at Dark Knight.

"Go get me some needles, let's begin your treatment,"

"But..."

"Don't worry about me," Leon refused, interrupting Dark Knight.

"The faster you recover, the more you'll be able to dig into what happened five years ago and that way, you'll have more confidence in protecting me,"

Dark Knight nodded and stood up to go get the needles Leon requested for.

The Master was weaker than everyone in the group now. If they didn't protect the Master, who would.

Also, without sufficient strength, he wouldn't be able to complete the task the Master had assigned to him.

Leon on the other hand smiled. Though his Cultivation had regressed to the very first stage, Qi Refining.

He still had his skills and experience even though he wouldn't be able to execute most of it.

But that wasn't a problem, as long as the seal continued to loosen, he would get progressively stronger.

He just needed to guide it and in no time he would be back to his peak.

Soon, Dark Knight was back with a set of needles.

"Remove your shirt and lay on your back," Leon instructed, taking the needles from Dark Knight.

Without hesitation, Dark Knight did as he was told.

"What I'll be doing now is repair your damaged meridians alongside your Golden Core," Leon explained, as he slowly inserted the needles into different acupoints in Dark Knight's body.

"Once it's done, I'll give you a prescription, it should help, and you should be propelled to the Nascent Soul Realm after that,"

Dark Knight's eyes lit up hearing this. Though that realm was still a far cry from his peak, it was still progress.

With that strength, he would be able to do a whole lot of things.

"Don't be too happy yet," Leon chuckled, shaking his head,

"After that, we'll continue with the treatment every five days and you should be able to get stronger each time,"

"But...." Leon paused, his tone suddenly becoming serious,

"It's been pretty long while you've had such power in your body, so you would need to train hard regularly, else, I'm afraid your body wouldn't be able to adapt to the sudden power jump."

Dark Knight's brow narrowed hearing Leon's statement.

"If you don't train enough, your very power would become nothing but a ticking time bomb and once it explodes, even I wouldn't be able to save you." Leon's expression turned serious as he inserted the needle.

"The end point is either becoming a mortal once again, or you die on the spot." He concluded, as he massaged Dark Knight's back.

"So, we have to progress slowly, we won't carry on with treatment until you've adapted to your new level of strength."

"Understood," Dark Knight's voice was firm. He had done it once. There was no way he wouldn't be able to do it again.

Since the CEO had personally brought him over, she was sure he had some level of skill.Alissa nodded and slowly stretched her hands towards Leon.Taking her hands, Leon placed two fingers on her pulse, reading it.After a while, he released her hands and stood up."You've got some minor complications," Leon spoke, walking towards Alissa."You should be better with a few needles.""Huh?" "Ma'am," Nora turned towards Camila who at some point had stepped out of the office."It's fine Nora," Camila nodded, her gaze landing on Leon again. This time, she was really shocked. She had been watching the fight for a while now and seeing how Leon had easily subdued her bodyguard made her wonder what kind of person she had married. She had heard the commotion and at first thought maybe it was one of the few times Nora caught an assassin as it had happened quite a few times. But then, she heard Leon's voice and decided to step out to see what was happening."You should Inform her of my identity, she wouldn't believe me," Leon broke the silence, dusting away the invisible dusts on his clothes."Sorry about that," Camila apologized. She was the one who had told him to keep it a secret. But the moment they laid eyes on the figure, they froze and swallowed.Without uttering another word, the ladies scrambled out of the infirmary, not daring to look back."Miss..." Alice panicked, walking forward, not knowing what to say as she glanced at Leon, who seemed rather relaxed. It was unexpected for the president to come here, and yet she had. What the heck was happening?Camila, on the other hand, glanced at Leon, who sat comfortably, acting as if he couldn't see her, which made something in her heart stir.Though she had said they were not going to interfere in each other's private lives, that didn't mean he was going to flirt with other ladies in the company during work time."Miss, you can't blame Dr. Leon; it was the ladies who said they were sick and needed treatment," Alice spoke, breaking the silence, noticing the slight frown on Camila's

Stepping out of the house, Rowan let out a slow breath and shook his head once, the air hitting his face as if to clear whatever was left behind in that place. He stood there for a moment without moving, his expression calm again, like everything that just happened had already been filed away and sealed. Then he reached into his pocket, took out his phone, and dialed a number. “Pick me up,” he said simply. “I’ll send the address.” He ended the call without waiting for a reply. Less than three minutes later, the quiet street was filled with the low hum of engines as a line of black luxury cars pulled up in perfect order, stopping neatly in front of him like a trained formation. The doors opened almost at the same time, and a man in his late forties stepped out from the front car, his posture straight, his presence steady as he walked toward Rowan. “Sir,” the man said respectfully, stopping a short distance away. “The car is ready.” Rowan didn’t respond immediately.
