"Hahaha! Good... Very good!"

Shi Nian laughed hysterically, a forced laugh to cover the sense of shock as well as the fury burning her chest. Her beautiful face now appeared somewhat distorted by anger. She stared at Zilong as if the youth in front of her were the most delusional creature in the entire continent.

"Qing Zilong, you have truly gone mad! Losing your cultivation and becoming disabled apparently did not only ruin your meridians, but has also damaged your brain!" shouted Shi Nian fiercely, taking steps forward until the distance between them was only separated by a few inches.

"I do not care who ripped that trash paper! Whether I am the one canceling it or you are the one pretending to dump me, the result is the exact same... We are finished. I am not at all willing to possess any bond with trash like you!"

Shi Nian paused her sentence, her breath rushing, then her eyes narrowed sharply full of a killing flash.

"But how dare you insult the Sky Sword Sect?! You call that holy place a mound of soil?!" The tone of Shi Nian's voice rose, echoing in every corner of the hall.

"For your information, disabled ant! My master is a Core Elder at the Sky Sword Sect with a cultivation that can split mountains! Insulting my sect is the same as triggering a disaster of extinction. If I report this mad utterance of yours to my Master, it will not take a long time for him to arrive and level the entire Qing Clan into ashes this very moment!"

Hearing that extraordinary threat, the atmosphere inside the hall directly dropped drastically down to the freezing point.

"Nian'er, there is no need to show who the powerful person behind us is!" The Shi Clan Elder joined in rising, releasing a wave of his Qi to press the atmosphere, strengthening his niece's bluff.

"In any case, this Qing clan is already useless in this eastern region!"

At the main chair, the face of Qing Tian, Zilong's father, instantly turned pale. A threat from the Sky Sword Sect was not something that could be taken lightly by a clan as small as theirs. One anger from that grand sect was enough to erase the Qing Clan's name from the cultivation world map overnight.

However, in the midst of the hidden panic of the elders and the fiery anger of Shi Nian, Qing Zilong instead showed a reaction that was out of expectation.

"Leveling the Qing clan? As long as I live, that matter will never happen?!" Zilong's voice boomed, even the sword aura left behind in his soul seeped out.

Shi Nian instantly jolted, her breath caught as she felt a pure intimidation she had never felt before.

'Wh-Where does this cold aura originate from?!' Shi Nian's inner mind thought in wonder.

Yet Zilong took steps one time forward, making Shi Nian forced to retreat step by step due to a sense of horror suddenly enveloping her chest. Because the gaze of Zilong's purple eyes, which were as sharp as a sword, now locked that girl's eyes without mercy.

"Our business is already finished. That paper is already ruined, and our relationship is already dead," said Zilong with an excessively cold flat tone, as if expelling an annoying fly.

He turned his body back, turning his back to the Shi Clan party, then waved his hand with a meremehkan movement toward the wide open hall exit door.

"Now, lift your feet from here. Bring this entire party of your insects out from the Qing Clan territory. Our Main Hall is too sacred to be dirtied by short-sighted people like you."

"You... you are truly outrageous, Qing Zilong!" roared Shi Nian. Her face which was initially pale due to intimidation now turned crimson red due to being hit by an extraordinarily intense wave of a sense of shame in front of the elders and guards.

Even though her knees were still slightly trembling due to the mysterious purple aura radiated by Zilong earlier, her arrogance as a genius hurriedly took over her consciousness. She clenched her fists tightly, refusing to look like a loser in front of the youth whom during these three years she considered as a useless piece of trash.

"Good! You are very boastful for the size of an ant crawling on the ground!" Shi Nian snorted loudly, then curved a smile full of cunning.

"You say the Sky Sword Sect is only a small mound of soil, right? And you pose as if you are the highest ruler who can dump me just like that?"

Shi Nian took steps forward one time with a challenging lifted chin, trying to erode the atmosphere dominance held by Zilong.

"If you indeed are manly and not merely a big-mouthed boaster hiding behind an empty bluff... I challenge you! Two months from now, the Sky Sword Sect will open the selection gate for new disciples in Dawn City. Arrive there and try to register becoming a disciple at the exact same sect as me!"

Hearing that challenge, the Shi Clan Elder behind her chanced to be surprised, yet then smiled cunningly. Challenging a disabled person without Qi to join the selection of the number one sect in this eastern region was the same as ordering him to commit suicide voluntarily on the exam stage.

"If you succeed in being accepted into the Sky Sword Sect, even if only as an outer disciple... I, Shi Nian, will kneel in front of you, recognize my defeat, and consider the entirety of today's dispute to have never occurred!" exclaimed Shi Nian, her voice echoing full of triumph.

"But if you fail, or if you even do not possess the nerve to show the bridge of your nose in Dawn City... You must crawl beneath my feet, bark like a dog, and cut your own hand which has dared to rip our marriage agreement document in public!"

Shi Nian folded both of her arms over her chest, staring at Zilong with a demeaning look that returned to burn.

"How about it, Disabled Young Master? Do you dare to accept my challenge, or do you only dare to bark big inside your own house hall?"

"This challenge is too easy for me... Only, a small sect in a low continent like this... Is not suitable for me..."

Zilong paid no heed to the insult. Instead he tilted his head upward, observing the evening sky that was beginning to turn orange-red. The day was growing late. If he wasted too much time here, tomorrow’s travel schedule would be disrupted. He had not the slightest patience to entertain a group of spoiled children like them.Zilong turned away once more. But Luo Chen moved quickly, blocking his path again. “You seem quite certain that no one in this city can force you, don’t you?”Zilong regarded the youth in silence for several moments. “Indeed.”Luo Chen laughed lightly, his tone mocking. “Even your cultivation realm cannot be clearly read. Are you hiding it?”“Correct.”“Then how are we supposed to know that you are truly as strong as the people outside claim?”Zilong shrugged indifferently. “You have no need to know.”He stepped forward, walking straight past Luo Chen’s side. The pursuer behind them clenched his fists in fury. “Qin Zilong!” he called in a raised voice.Zilong stop

BLACK CLOUD CITY.Qin Zilong halted for a moment. “So I am passing through this place once more.”Vague memories of his previous visit flickered through his mind—the Spirit Pill Pavilion, the bustling auction hall, Mu Yanshan, and several cunning faces that had once regarded him with calculating eyes.Zilong shook his head slightly. This place has nothing more to do with me.He entered the city without paying much attention to his surroundings. His purpose was simple: to purchase a few travel necessities before continuing toward the Heavenly Sword Sect.Yet after walking only a few hundred steps past the gate… his feet stopped. In front of a luxurious restaurant, several men had just emerged.Among them stood someone he knew very well—a cultivator in gray robes who had once been one of his long-time pursuers. The gray-robed man’s eyes met Zilong’s at once. Several days had already passed since Qin Zilong left the Southern Cloud Sword Sect. Yet his footsteps showed not the slightest sign of a man racing against time. The mountain path stretched long before him, flanked by green trees that swayed gently in the breeze. Now and then, sunlight pierced through gaps in the foliage and fell in golden patches upon the ground.Zilong walked with both hands hidden within the sleeves of his robe. His steps were light, calm, and unhurried in the least. With the strength he now possessed, he could have accelerated his journey many times over. Had he truly employed the Light Body Art, the distance to the Heavenly Sword Sect could have been shortened drastically.Yet Zilong chose not to do so. Instead, he simply enjoyed the journey at a leisurely pace. The mountain wind brushed softly against his face, carrying the mingled scents of earth, leaves, and morning dew. From time to time the cries of spirit birds drifted from afar. It had been a long while s

News of Qin Zilong’s return spread quickly all the way to the residences of the elders. Not long after, Zilong already stood upright inside the main hall of the sect. The Great Elder, Gu Yan, Shen Luo, and Bai He were already there to receive him. The moment the hall doors opened and Zilong stepped inside, several pairs of eyes immediately fixed sharply upon him.The Great Elder observed the young man from head to toe. “You returned faster than we expected.”“The two-month time limit is almost up,” Zilong answered in a calm tone. “I have no reason to linger there any longer.”The Great Elder nodded slowly. “How is your cultivation?”Zilong smiled faintly. “It has improved a little.”Several elders in the room exchanged glances upon hearing such an overly simple answer. Yet none of them dared to underestimate those words. The Great Elder did not even attempt to examine Zilong’s cultivation level with his spiritual senses; he already understood full well that if Qin Zilong wished to con

In less than an hour, the dense rows of trees began to thin. The majestic buildings of the Southern Cloud Sword Sect gradually appeared in the distance, flanked by a sturdy gate standing between two enormous stone pillars.Beneath that gate, two figures were waiting anxiously.Han Wei stood with both arms folded across his chest, occasionally shifting his gaze toward the forest path before looking back at the gate. Beside him, Lin Yue leaned casually against one of the stone pillars.“He should have returned by now,” Lin Yue said, breaking the silence.Han Wei furrowed his brow. “Don’t be too sure.”“Why?”“Because if Young Master Qin hasn’t returned yet, you won’t be able to do anything to find him either.”Lin Yue exhaled a long breath. “I’m only speaking of the possibility.”Han Wei was about to reply when the movement of his lips suddenly stopped. His eyes locked onto a figure walking out from behind the dense trees.A torn black robe. Calm footsteps. A face they knew very well.H
