Chapter 1. Unexpected

       " I am sorry Mr. Liam Storm, but you failed the interview." The manager in charge of the job application, cleared his throat and announced with a calm look. 

A document was passed to the applicant called Liam Storm, who was facing the manager. 

Liam, who was all in smiles earlier, knowing there was a 100 percent chance for him, as he was sure he performed well during the interview. And to make it a plus, he was the best graduating student of the top college. So, he believed his chances were high. 

But hearing the rejection coming from the manager, it felt like a big drum of cold water was poured over him. His smile died down immediately, to be replaced with a cracked face. He was in plain disbelief...

" Mr. Manager, but I did well. Didn't I? I am sure I passed all the interviews, so why this?" He shifted from his seat slightly and tried to argue politely. 

He wasn't ready to let go of this opportunity. 

The manager gently tapped his desk and looked away from Liam indifferently. 

" This is not my order. It is an order from above." 

Liam was crestfallen to hear this, as his heart skipped a beat repeatedly. He wasn't expecting this at all....

Failed the interview? 

" But Mr. Manager...." He was still adamant on this and wanted to prove himself....

" Please, get out. You are rejected. Another applicant is waiting." The manager gestured to the door impatiently and called for another applicant.

Liam was dumbfounded to the extent, he couldn't move or utter anything. 

This can't be true!

   These words keeps playing in Liam's head, as he walked lazily across the street with a hopeless expression. Little tears lurked around the corner of his eyes, but he didn't let them flow down. 

At this moment, he was on the verge of giving up, as he was short of what to do anymore. 

He had been trying different interviews after he graduated as the best student, but unfortunately, he was always getting rejected, without a genuine concrete reason. He was seriously tired of all these. He thought being the best graduating student in the top college would bring a lots of benefits, but guess he was wrong. 

Liam sighed, the hot wind blowing past him, as his head was inclined downward. This was too much for him. 

" I just want to become a better person, is that too much to ask for?" He whispered to himself and shook his head, with the least amount of sorrow playing with him. 

Suddenly, he recalled what today signified, and he widened his eyes immediately....

" How could I forget?" Liam halted and ruffled his hair. 

He had just recollected today was his anniversary with his girlfriend.  

He had been too occupied with his thought, to the extent he forgot about his dating anniversary. 

" I hope Beverly doesn't get disappointed." He muttered to himself, glancing around, as he patted his pocket at the same time. 

Quickly, he rushed to the mall to get something. Although, he didn't have any penny on him, except his transport fare, but he had no choice than to use the money to get a gift for his girl. 

Making her happy was the only thing that could relieve him of his sorrows. 

It didn't take long before Liam got out of the mall. Things were too costly, so he could only afford an anniversary cake. 

Even at that, he still had mixed feelings, cause he wasn't sure how his girlfriend might react to the cake he brought. 

With no choice, Liam took a deep breath and trekked to his girlfriend's house. 

After thirty minutes, he got to his girlfriend's house, with a look of anxiety. His heart started beating fast, but he tried to calm himself down. He was still thinking of how his girlfriend will react to the cake he brought, as he truly love her too much. In fact, he was ready to go extra miles for her. 

Recalling the face of his girlfriend was already enough to spread a smile on his face and set his beating heart on flames! Tingling feelings brewing in him, as his face started flushing gradually. 

Right now, he was dying to see her again and spend some time with her....

Truly, love was a splendid feeling!

With determination, Liam took some steps forward, but when he got to the front door of his girlfriend's apartment, he abruptly halted! 

*Giggles*

“Don’t touch there...”

“You’re so wild baby, I don’t know how your boyfriend would think if he saw his loving girl was so...oh...”

Unexpectedly, he overhead strange sounds coming from inside his girlfriend's apartment. He knitted his brows instantly, as his heart leaped in fright.....

" Beverly, I didn't know you can satisfy me in this way. I am so impressed!" 

Again, he heard a deep man's voice, that made his brain to summersaulted! He was flabbergasted and astounded!

He didn't know why, but he became worried as his brain already processed different things going on.......

Without wasting anytime, he swiftly pushed the door open, but what he saw next, made his jaws dropped down........

He blinked his eyes repeatedly, finding it hard to process what he was seeing .........

His fingers slowly pointed to what he was seeing in a shuddering manner....

His girlfriend was..... intimate with another person????

Instantly, the cake in his hands dropped down .........
