Chapter 4

Daniel stared intently at the man, his gaze carefully focused. Several men had just saluted the elderly man, and now, he was greeting Daniel with utmost politeness.

Daniel's face was filled with confusion. He stared at him for a moment, before reaching out and politely shaking his hand.

His curiosity prompted Daniel to ask, "How do you know me? I don't know you."

The man gave him his signature smile. Then, he acted very professional. "I'm Adam Davidson. If you'd like, you can come with me. Then you'll know everything."

"Come with you?" Daniel repeated the man who had just introduced himself.

The man nodded. "Yes, you can come with us." His eyes glanced slightly at the luxury car. His gaze seemed to urge Daniel.

Daniel stared at the car. He was silent for a moment. "I don't even know who you are, and how can I come with you?" he asked hesitantly.

He thought this was strange. A rich man arrived in his luxury car and asked him to go out. He didn't even know many wealthy people in this city. So his mind kept nagging him with doubt.

After all, he just wanted to be alone to sort things out.

But after a moment of thought, he quickly remembered the problem. "Is all this because of that man?"

Daniel immediately eyed the man before him warily. It was possible Billy had asked his father to send some men and eliminate him. Although this didn't seem entirely plausible.

After double-checking, he looked at the five luxury cars in front of him. In fact, he had never seen Billy's father own one of those luxury cars. They only owned cars of a lower class. It would be excessive for Billy to send them all.

Seeing Daniel's tense expression, Adam understood. "Mr. Daniel, you don't need to hesitate. We won't hurt you." The man paused, speaking reassuringly. "We just want to discuss an important matter with you."

"An important matter?" Daniel frowned. A wealthy man was in front of him, wanting to discuss an important matter, so this didn't make sense. What would they be discussing with him?

Daniel thought this might be a trap. He eyed the man warily. "We've already met here. We can talk about it here."

Adam shook his head. This wasn't the right place for such an important discussion.

The man sighed. "Sir, this conversation is truly important, and we can't discuss it here."

"Besides, there's something you need to consider afterward," the man tried to reassure Daniel.

Daniel looked at them in turn, their stern faces emphasizing that they wanted to eliminate him.

He had just lost his job, and what if he disappeared too? His grandparents still needed him desperately. Daniel didn't want to take any risks.

Daniel shook his head firmly. "I can't go with you. And if there's something important, you can tell me now, or else, leave me alone here." Daniel sat back down without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Adam's movements immediately focused on his bodyguards. They immediately understood and took action.

This time, eight men had surrounded him.

Daniel looked panicked. He had just faced off against the five apartment guards. And now, how was he supposed to face them? "What the hell is this?"

Daniel shouted angrily. He certainly wasn't happy to be confronted in this situation. He hadn't even solved his problem, and another one had arisen.

Daniel was just about to move to leave, but one of them blocked his way.

Daniel tried to push him away, but was immediately shocked when the man's body was completely immobile. His body was like solid wood.

"It would be better if you come with us, young master," Adam spoke again, pressing him. He pointed to the car and urged Daniel to follow him.

Daniel shook his head angrily. "Was my statement not clear enough? I can't go with you guys!"

Daniel was just about to move to leave, but several others increasingly blocked his path.

Daniel was about to lose his patience. He tried to punch the men hard. None of them resisted, only continuing to hold him back.

Adam signaled with his eyes. Two men immediately nodded and moved to grab Daniel.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” Daniel screamed and struggled, but no one heard him. They forced him into their car.

The few people on the street could only stare at them, unable to offer any assistance.

Another man opened the car door. “Young sir, we don’t want to be rude. Please get in.”

“No. I don’t want to go with you. Let me go.” Daniel continued to struggle.

Meanwhile, they forced him into the car. Adam then quickly got into the same car.

Daniel stared at Adam angrily. He didn’t know where they were taking him.

“You can’t force me like this. Who are you and where are you taking me?” Daniel continued to shout.

Adam stared at him calmly. He gave Daniel space to calm down.

After a while, Daniel seemed calmer. He was mulling over something in his mind. He didn't know what they wanted from him. Was this really Billy's order? It was quite doubtful at the moment.

No words came out of his mouth. His mind couldn't even think clearly. Until finally, he began to realize that the car was entering a quiet forest far from any settlement.

For a moment, Daniel seemed tense, but his curiosity kept him calm. He wanted to know more about where they were taking him.

The car turned, into a quieter area. A large gate greeted him.

Daniel was quite stunned by this place, a place he had never even seen before. It was very well-organized and seemed well-maintained. This time, his eyes were busy sweeping over the extraordinary scenery. Daniel knew this was all a man-made forest.

"We're almost there," Adam said.

Daniel looked ahead. His jaw nearly dropped when another gate swung open. There, a building more fittingly described as a palace appeared.

The anger in his heart was quickly replaced by utter awe. How could there be a palace in the middle of a dead forest?

Dozens of guards stood guard over the place. It looked like a movie he'd often seen. He could hardly believe they'd brought him here.

Daniel stared at Adam silently. What did the old man want by bringing a man like him to this luxurious place?

Daniel barely noticed the car had stopped. His eyes were still busy admiring every corner of the building before him. Suddenly, the door beside him opened. "Please, sir."

Daniel nodded. As he got out, several guards stood behind him to escort him.

Adam led him into the building.

His steps were filled with hesitation. For the first time, he was setting foot in such an extraordinary place.

When the large doors opened, Daniel couldn't help but gape. This was even more magnificent than he had ever imagined. Every corner of the room was lined with pure gold and diamonds.

"Young master, come." Adam led him back to one of the rooms.

From each door, Daniel knew that this one was different from the others. He was certain that this was a special place.

The guard opened the door, and Daniel slowly saw an elderly man sitting in a chair, staring at him with sparkling eyes.

“My grandson, you’ve finally arrived.”
