“Grandson?” Daniel frowned and muttered softly.

Of course, he knew the old man wasn’t referring to him by grandson. So Daniel turned around to see who was with him. But now, he only realized that Adam and the guards had left. He was the only one standing in the doorway.

When Daniel looked back, he saw the white-haired man walking toward him.

Daniel could see the old man, his eyes glistening with tears, gazing at him with affection. The smile on his wrinkled face was genuine.

The old man touched Daniel and held his hand tightly. “You’re growing up fast. And you look so much like your father.” His voice was choked with a stifled breath. “You look just like my son.”

Daniel fell silent, staring at the man without saying a word. The sincerity in his voice gave him goosebumps. But this didn’t make sense. How could he call him his grandson?

Daniel shook his head. He slowly tried to loosen his grip on the man’s hand. “I don’t understand what you’re saying.” He stepped back a little to keep his distance.

The man exhaled. He looked completely calm. “You are my grandson.” He said it with conviction.

For a moment, Daniel was silent. But the next second, he couldn’t help but laugh. This was truly strange.

“Are you kidding, sir? This really sounds like a joke.”

As far as Daniel knew, he had been raised by his grandparents in the suburbs. He never even knew who his parents were. And now a stranger was calling him his grandson. This was unbelievable.

The old man shook his head. “It’s true. This isn’t a mistake.”

Daniel laughed again. He truly believed his grandfather’s words were a joke. “So, you think I’m your grandson? Sir, you might have the wrong person. After all, there are many men named Daniel in this town. I think you’ve completely misunderstood.”

Daniel seemed calmer. He stared at the old man with a deep gaze. “I’m not your grandson. And I’m sure we’re not related.”

A characteristic smile appeared on his wrinkled face. “You say that with such confidence. But don’t tell me it’s impossible.”

“I am Jordan Johnson. And I have valid information that you are my long-lost grandson.”

Upon hearing that name, Daniel could barely contain his shock.

“What?”

“Johnson?”

He had only heard that family name so far. Everyone knew that the Johnsons were a very influential family. Some even said their wealth was untouchable. They even touted them as a very powerful family. Not many knew for sure about the family's existence or the true identity of its head. And now, how could he be standing before the head of the Johnson family?

Jordan gestured to the man behind Daniel. He hadn't even realized when Adam had arrived.

“Show me all the papers.”

Daniel could see Adam nodding and bowing respectfully.

Daniel watched Adam take something from a gold cabinet in the corner of the room. Afterward, he returned and showed him a document.

It was a statement stating that the DNA test results confirmed that Daniel and the family were a match.

Daniel stepped back, shaking his head. “Wait… is this real?” Daniel said nervously.

“I know about the confusion. And I’ll tell you everything.” Jordan turned around and sat back in his chair calmly.

“I lost my grandson 20 years ago. For the past few years, I instructed Adam to search for you. Until we finally found you.” He paused, took a breath, and wiped away tears. “To be sure, we secretly took a DNA sample from you. And you were a match.”

Daniel shook his head. His mind was spinning, unable to believe this so easily.

After a moment, he looked at Jordan intently. “And my parents? Who are my parents?”

“My grandfather said my parents were murdered.” Daniel tried to remember clearly how his grandparents had always said this. However, all this time, his grandparents had never known the cause of the murder.

Jordan's eyes filled with tears again. He nodded slowly. "Yes, your parents were killed by the enemy. At the time, we thought they had taken you. But one of the guards discovered that the parents had taken you and secured you before they could. But before we could rescue you, we lost track of them."

"Daniel, we've been searching for you for years. We couldn't find you anywhere. At that time, I was devastated, thinking I'd lost not only my son, but also my grandson." The sadness was clear on his face.

"However, I still had hope of finding you. And that's why we kept searching and finally found you," Jordan explained in great detail.

Meanwhile, Daniel's heart was pounding. He still doubted the whole story. "It's impossible. It's absolutely impossible."

Jordan nodded. He knew Daniel would have those doubts. But after years of searching, of course he wouldn't let Daniel go. He was the heir to the Johnson family.

Jordan sighed. “You will soon understand your true origins. And you will believe it.”

Jordan stood up and walked back over to Daniel. Slowly, he placed his hand on Daniel's shoulder. “You will know who you really are.”

Jordan lowered his hand. He wiped away the tears from his face. “Come with me.”

The old man walked steadily toward one of the rooms. It was his private room. A work desk stood in the center of the room. Like the others, every corner was beautifully inlaid with gold.

Jordan sat in his grand chair. He swore to himself that after 20 years, he would regain his spirit. Even his face was radiant. He looked at Daniel with delight. “Sit down.”

Daniel nodded and hesitantly sat down in the chair.

“Daniel, you are my grandson, you are the grandson of the Johnson family. Then I will reveal everything to you about the extraordinary Johnson family. You will learn everything we have,” the man said with a beaming face.

Daniel was stunned. Not even everyone knew the exact wealth of the Johnson family. Now, Daniel was face to face with the head of the family. And now, the old man was about to tell him and show him everything. This was still unbelievable.

As before, Jordan directed his gaze and gestured to Adam. The man immediately understood. He took out several files and showed them to Daniel.

“All of this is a small portion of the Johnson family’s holdings,” Adam explained politely.

Daniel widened his eyes in disbelief. He could see the names of over 100 major companies, and how could they say this was just a fraction of what the Johnson family owned?

Daniel swallowed hard, and just as the rumors had it, the Johnson family’s wealth was truly unfathomable.

In the end, he truly believed the rumors. He realized the Johnson family’s wealth was truly limitless.

“You’ll find out everything. It’s all here,” Adam explained carefully.

Daniel could see another stack of files and a laptop screen there.

Daniel had always been amazed when he heard the name of the Johnson family. But it turned out that their admiration never waned. He was always surprised by extraordinary things that outsiders never knew about. They were not only an extraordinary family, but they kept everything under wraps.

“You should know that the Johnson family owns shares in three hundred companies in other countries. All of their assets are spread almost all over the world.”

Daniel looked away from the file and stared at the man who claimed to be his grandfather. But this time, he no longer saw the old man's cheerful face. Instead, the man looked dim.

“Daniel, I know you might still be doubting all of this. But I don't know how much longer I can hold on.” Jordan took a deep breath. His face looked more determined. “I brought you back to carry on this family.”

“You will be the successor and head of the Johnson family.”
