Hearing a familiar scream, everyone immediately turned toward the door. Daniel stood there, staring intently.

“Daniel?”

The elderly couple felt a surge of relief. His grandmother smiled, as did his grandfather and Lucas.

But the next moment, fear overtook the relief they had just felt. Of course, they both remembered Billy’s threat to kill his grandson.

Worry immediately paled. They certainly weren’t ready to lose Daniel. He was his good grandson.

A smile spread across Billy’s face. “Oh, loser, you’ve finally arrived.” The man folded his arms across his chest. He secretly began planning how to make Daniel pay for what he had done to him.

Even though several people had beaten him before, that didn’t satisfy him.

Billy let out a sigh. He clucked his tongue and clapped his hands. “Do I need to commend you for your courage?”

"I thought, after you lost your lover and your job, you'd lose your sanity. I even thought about committing suicide in frustration." He smiled mockingly.

Daniel really couldn't stand it all. Not only had that man taken his lover and made him lose his job, but what he had done was truly outrageous.

Daniel looked around the room, examining the mess Billy had made. He swore he would show no mercy.

His eyes returned to his grandmother. The old woman was still kneeling on the ground. Daniel quickly walked over and helped her up. "Grandma, are you okay?"

At this moment, Daniel had just realized that his grandmother's face and body were covered in wounds. So were his grandfather and Lucas.

Daniel's hands clenched into fists, and he turned back to face Billy.

"You…"

"I won't forgive you." His voice was full of emphasis.

Billy couldn't hold back his laughter. He roared with laughter along with his five men.

“Did you just threaten me?”

The next second, his expression turned stern. He certainly wasn’t pleased with the threat. “How dare you try to threaten me, damn it. Don’t you know who I am?”

Billy slapped his chest hard, trying to remind Daniel that they were on different levels.

“You know, if my father had the power, I just need to say one word, and my father would grant it. Even your life means nothing to me.” Billy pressed his words with anger.

To him, a poor man who dared to make a threat was tantamount to insulting him. He wouldn’t let that go unpunished. Men like Daniel needed to be eliminated.

Billy snapped his fingers. “It’s easy to get rid of people like you.”

This time, Daniel had nothing to fear. Before, he had always suppressed his anger, worried about the man’s threats. But now, he had everything. He could even buy Billy with his money.

Emma shook her head. “Don’t do anything to Daniel.” The old woman pleaded. Her body trembled with fear. She held Daniel’s hand tightly, raising her head slightly as she looked at him. “Let me do it. At least it might save you.”

“I don’t want to lose you, Daniel.” Emma cried.

Daniel wiped away his tears. “He’s the one who’s going to do that to Grandma.” His voice was full of emphasis.

His grandmother was shocked. “Stop talking, Daniel. Don’t cause trouble.”

As far as her grandmother was concerned, the man had just said that if he were the son of the Welles family, they could do anything to destroy them. Of course, Emma didn’t want that to happen.

Daniel smiled at his grandmother. “You don’t need to worry. I just wanted to give her a little encouragement.”

Billy clenched his fists tightly. Those words deeply offended him. “You…”

“How dare you say that!” His scream was high-pitched. The man couldn’t contain his anger. “You’re nothing more than a stray dog. How could you try to pressure me!”

Billy spat in front of him. His entire jaw tensed. “I assure you, you’ll pay dearly for that insult!”

Daniel’s words were a complete humiliation. Billy approached, his gaze sharp, and he said, “Not just you, but everyone close to you.”

Daniel looked completely calm. He stared at the man coldly. “You won’t be able to do anything.”

Before, Billy had always been so arrogant. It was all because of his wealthy father. But now, everything had changed. Daniel could handle it with what he had now.

“What? Are you underestimating me, damn it?” Billy was endlessly annoyed by Daniel’s words. He didn’t know how Daniel had gotten the courage. As far as he could see, Daniel appeared calm. This certainly didn't please him.

"You'll truly regret this. I won't even give you a chance to scream or prostrate yourself at my feet!" Billy threatened him once again. This time, he hoped they would quickly regain their fear.

But his words were met only with a small smirk from Daniel. As if the threat meant nothing to him. "Do you think that threat matters to me?"

Billy was almost at a loss for words. A few hours ago, he had met Daniel in a different state. And how could a few hours have changed his courage? "Maybe his frustration is driving him crazy. Or maybe he just wants to die."

Billy studied Daniel for a moment, but he was a completely different Daniel.

This time, his grandfather approached him. Worry was clear in his eyes. "Stop talking. Or they'll really make things worse for us. Don't put him in danger."

Daniel looked at his grandmother and grandfather in turn. “Grandpa, grandma, nothing is putting us in danger.”

“You guys calm down. Everything is fine.” Daniel tried to reassure them both.

Lucas was there, watching Daniel. Seeing Daniel's change in demeanor stunned him. But it also made him happy. However, Lucas knew this would put Daniel in a worse situation. Of course, he didn't want that to happen.

“Daniel, it would be better if you listened to your grandma and grandpa.” Lucas tried to make him understand.

“Nothing will happen to us,” Daniel tried to reassure them. His eyes fell on Billy. “They're the ones who will pay dearly for what they've done!”

This was too much.

For the first time, a poor man had insulted him with his foolish words.

Billy couldn't stand it. It was all like an insult that was slowly eroding his self-esteem.

“You're really going to regret this, damn it.” Billy looked at some of his men. “Get rid of him quickly!”

“You're the one who's going to get lost!” Daniel's voice startled everyone.
