Daniel's shout provoked them. Anger was evident on the faces of Billy and his five men. Billy didn't even know where Daniel's courage came from. Previously, he had looked like a madman tied up by the guards.

Billy stared at his five men. "What are you waiting for? Do it now."

They were already holding blocks in their hands. Daniel's piercing gaze made their jaws tighten.

"Don't worry. I will definitely make that man kneel before you, sir. He will be like a dog licking your feet and begging for forgiveness," one of the men said arrogantly.

This had been their job for years. They had never been defeated. They were also known to be as slippery as eels, difficult to catch.

The man looked at his four other men. "Come on, do it now."

They nodded in unison, their faces contorted with anger, ready to attack.

Daniel, meanwhile, remained calm. A stark contrast to his grandmother's worried expression.

“Daniel, you won’t be able to defeat them,” Lucas spoke nervously. He was clearly worried about his friend’s safety.

The five thugs burst into laughter. “It’s too late. Even if you beg, it won’t be heard.”

They prepared to attack. But shouts were heard immediately.

“Wait!”

Daniel raised a hand, signaling them to halt.

They stopped. The arrogant smiles on their faces were clearly visible. “Why, are you afraid? Do you now want to voluntarily surrender yourselves to our master?”

“No,” Daniel answered firmly. “I want to make you an attractive offer.”

“Offer?” The tattooed man raised an eyebrow, eyeing Daniel doubtfully.

“I’ll pay you five times as much if you become my men,” Daniel spoke firmly.

For a moment, they were silent. They looked at each other. Until the next second, they couldn’t hold back their laughter.

Billy burst out laughing. He could hardly believe what he had just heard.

Billy rose from his chair, walked over, and stopped in front of his five men.

“How can a poor man like you so confidently take all my men? Do you know how much I paid them?” Billy stepped closer to Daniel. This time, they were very close. “$20,000,” his voice was a whisper, full of emphasis.

Seeing Daniel's silent expression, Billy laughed loudly again. Of course, he was sure Daniel was stunned by the amount of money. He wouldn't be able to afford it.

Meanwhile, Daniel just stared at him blankly. The money wasn't even worth more than the bag he had prepared for Lyla.

They had no idea that Daniel could not only pay five times as much, but could even pay a hundred times more than that amount.

“Why? Are you starting to get scared now?” This time, Billy's face was sterner. “How dare you try to defy me.”

The man stood before Daniel, his eyes moving up and down his face. "You should realize that you don't even have anything left. You've lost everything, and soon, you'll lose your home. And don't even dream of defeating me."

Daniel ignored Billy, who was standing in front of him. His gaze was fixed on the tattooed man leading the troops. "Ten times bigger. Are you interested?" Daniel made the offer without hesitation.

Once again, they looked at each other. They couldn't decide easily. As far as they knew, Daniel lived in a small, shabby house. Of course, it would be impossible for him to have that much money.

The tattooed man stared at Daniel seriously. "How can we trust you if you can pay us more than Mr. Billy?"

Billy immediately turned around, glaring at the man angrily. "What do you mean by that? Are you planning to betray me?" Billy pressed his words.

“Take a good look at that man. He can’t even afford a decent place to live. He was just fired from Welles Inc. Are you fools going to believe him?” Billy shouted at them.

“All you have to do is say yes, and I’ll give you the money right now,” Daniel said seriously.

It was quite an attractive offer. But considering Daniel’s appearance and where he lived, they were hesitant to believe him. However, $200,000 was too good to pass up.

Seeing their silence, Billy felt truly angry. He clenched his fists. “Don’t even think about betraying me.”

The tattooed man ignored Billy’s words. He eyed Daniel warily. “Can you show me the money?”

Billy shook his head. “He won’t be able to show me the money. He doesn’t have it. I’m not even sure he’s ever seen that much money. Who is he to have that much money?”

Daniel nodded. “Of course.”

Daniel took out his cell phone. He immediately called Adam. “Come and bring me $200,000.” Without waiting for a response, Daniel hung up the phone.

Once again, Billy laughed loudly. “Are you acting like a boss now? I think you’re going crazy.”

Billy shook his head. He looked at each of his men. “Do you believe what that man said? He just lost his job. So, I think he’s getting frustrated.”

Lucas studied Daniel. He didn’t know why Daniel was trying to deceive everyone. Lucas approached, putting his hand on Daniel’s shoulder. “Why did you have to do that? It’ll only get you in trouble.” Lucas sighed. “Don’t lie to them. It’ll only get you into more trouble, Daniel.”

His grandmother nodded. “What Lucas said is true. You shouldn’t have deceived them.”

Daniel looked at them calmly. “I didn’t deceive them at all. Just wait, he’ll come and bring the money.”

Lucas watched Daniel more closely. He thought that if what Billy said was true, that Daniel was starting to lose his mind.

Billy glared at Daniel angrily. "Even if you wait for years, no one will come." Billy's gaze swept over all his men. "Why are you wasting time waiting for his lies? Attack him quickly."

The five thugs became irritated, thinking that Daniel might have actually deceived them. This further drove them to lose their patience.

"Kill him now!" Billy shouted the order.

"Wait!" A shout came from the door.
