Ch 05: Kneel and Kowtow 1000 Times!
Bella froze after hearing those words. Instantly, both her knees felt weak, making her body sway a few steps back before she collapsed onto the sofa.
It was over. There was no hope left for her to save Leon. She slowly looked up, staring at Leon’s back as he stood before her, her expression one of despair.
"You’re dead!" Brian struggled to stand while enduring the pain throughout his body, especially in his arm, where it felt like a bone had cracked. "Uncle Xiao is a cultivator. Killing you is nothing to him!"
At the same time, Felix also struggled to get up. There were bruises at the corner of his mouth and on his temple, making him wince when he tried to touch them.
His gaze then shifted to Shaun, instantly triggering his sycophantic instincts. He quickly stepped forward and helped Shaun stand upright.
"Tch. You damn beggar! Since you did this to Young Master Shaun, Uncle Xiao won’t let you die easily," Felix shouted.
That sentence made Shaun smile sinisterly as he glared at Leon.
Unfortunately, Leon didn’t show a shred of fear. He merely snorted dismissively, then gave a faint smile.
Behind him, Bella could only sit in silence, watching the situation unfold. She couldn’t even explain what she was feeling right now.
On one hand, she felt guilty and responsible for Leon. She knew he was doing this to protect her. But on the other hand, she couldn’t do anything because it involved Pirette Group’s interests.
The Murph family wasn’t actually that superior compared to the Pirette family. But if the Vint family interfered in this matter, even the Pirette family, who held power in Monharvest, would struggle to resist. Especially now, when their business was already shaky.
Leon walked to the round table and sat down, leaning back as he crossed his right leg over his left. His expression was cocky, making Felix chuckle and sneer.
Felix said, "Huh. Even this beggar doesn’t understand the situation. He’s about to die, but he’s acting like a big shot. Just wait until Uncle Xiao arrives. I’ll ask him to break your fingers first."
"Who dares to touch my grand-disciple?!"
At that moment, a deep voice echoed through the air, immediately drawing everyone’s attention to the door.
An old man who looked to be in his fifties, though his actual age was over a hundred, arrived with nine tall, muscular bodyguards in black suits. Each of their steps radiated a strong aura of intimidation, especially the old man’s.
Leon looked at the old man and smiled crookedly. Is this old man the Uncle Xiao they’re talking about? That was the question in Leon’s head.
He wasn’t afraid at all, even as the old man released his spiritual aura, which instantly spread in all directions.
"Huh, just a practitioner at the peak of the Foundation stage of the Initiation phase," Leon muttered, looking down on him.
He possessed the Ancient Heavenly Body, a physique that was legendary for not having appeared in a thousand years, and was thought to be extinct.
With the Ancient Heavenly Body, Leon’s physical body far surpassed ordinary cultivators. Added to that, he had a talent that appeared only once every hundred years, allowing him to fight even cultivators one entire realm above him.
Currently, Leon’s cultivation was at the mid-stage of Amplification in the Transformation phase. Of course, still far below his main enemy, Gordon, who was already at the peak of Control in the Mastery phase.
In the cultivation world, there were four phases a cultivator had to go through. The Initiation phase, Transformation phase, Mastery phase, and Transcendence phase. Each phase had three levels.
Initiation Phase (Awakening, Resonance, and Foundation).
Transformation Phase (Purification, Amplification, and Manifestation).
Mastery Phase (Control, Integration, and Understanding).
Transcendence Phase (Illumination, Expansion, and Transcendence).
And each level had three stages: early, middle, and late.
“Uncle Xiao?” Shaun blurted.
Uncle Xiao turned to Shaun and widened his eyes slightly upon seeing Shaun’s battered condition.
Shaun’s father was a disciple of his martial brother. They had been preparing Shaun to walk the path of cultivation, and the body-cleansing ritual was set for next month.
With preparations nearly complete, it meant Shaun was no match for an ordinary human. The only one who could beat him like this was a cultivator.
Uncle Xiao quickly stepped toward Shaun. He looked Shaun over from head to toe to confirm his condition.
"Shaun? What happened?"
"That damn loser!" Shaun answered loudly and pointed at Leon. "He’s the one who did this to me."
Uncle Xiao’s jaw instantly hardened. He slowly turned toward Leon, his eyes sharp.
"How dare you do this to my grand-disciple!"
"Why not?" Leon replied. "He said he wanted to cut off my leg. Do you think I should just let him?"
"Impudent! Huh. So what if he wanted to cut off your leg? You should be happy. Obeying his wish is an honor for you."
"Hahaha! No wonder the young master of the Murph family is so arrogant. Turns out the people who raised him have trash for mouths. The stench even reaches here," Leon said, waving his hand in front of his nose.
Those words instantly made Uncle Xiao’s temples throb. His hands clenched tightly, his spiritual aura exploding outward as a gust of wind that everyone could feel.
Bella, who witnessed it, was stunned. She immediately stood up from the sofa, approached Leon, and said, "Leon, enough! Why are you acting like some hero? Are you stupid? The situation is already like this. You’re really going to die."
"Calm down, Bella. They can’t hurt me," Leon replied, calm.
"What?"
Bella didn’t know what else to do to stop Leon. She didn’t understand what was going through the man’s mind. He seemed to have given up, and the last thing he wanted was to die with dignity.
At the same time, Uncle Xiao turned to the nine bodyguards there. "What are you waiting for? Finish him!"
Without wasting time, the nine bodyguards moved toward Leon one by one, prompting Leon to signal Bella to keep a safe distance.
One of the bodyguards launched the first attack. But in just one breath, that bodyguard was already sprawled on the floor.
Shaun and his four companions widened their eyes instantly. Leon didn’t have the aura of a cultivator at all, yet he could take down a bodyguard with combat experience and cultivation training with just one strike.
Leon then dealt with two bodyguards who tried to attack him together. But Leon’s speed and strength left them only able to receive blows, unable to strike back.
The other bodyguards also tried to attack. Unfortunately, their fate was the same as their companions’. In an instant, the empty floor was filled with the bulky bodies of the Murph family’s bodyguards.
Seeing that sight, Uncle Xiao gritted his teeth. Something felt off. He couldn’t believe that a loser like Leon, who didn’t even have a spiritual aura, could take down all nine of his bodyguards so easily.
"You!" Uncle Xiao shouted. "Who are you?! What trick did you use? Why can’t I sense any spiritual aura in your body?! You’re not a cultivator, so how could you take them down?!"
"Huh. You’re not qualified to ask me questions."
"Tch. So arrogant! I don’t know what trick you used, but you’re nothing more than an insect to me. Killing you is easy. Kneel and kowtow a thousand times before me, and I’ll make sure your corpse remains intact."
"Hahaha." Leon just laughed lightly. He had rarely seen the outside world in the last ten years. It was surprisingly amusing to watch the behavior of people with power. "You should leave and take that grand-disciple of yours home. Wash your hands, wash your feet, and go drink some milk. And don’t forget to brush your teeth so your mouth doesn’t stink like trash."
Uncle Xiao exhaled harshly, snorting like a bull seeing red, after hearing those words.
"Impudent! I’m older than you! Didn’t your father teach you manners, huh?!"
The curve at the corner of Leon’s lips instantly flattened after that sentence was spoken. His expression turned cold, a terrifying aura spreading in all directions, and only Uncle Xiao could feel it.
Leon gritted his teeth, clenched his fists, while staring sharply at Uncle Xiao.

Leon was still trying to process what was really happening. Why wouldn’t his card work? Was Frander trying to trick him?At this point, Bella should have been wondering why the card wasn’t working. Because as far as she knew, the card was hers—and she would have known for sure whether it was still valid or not. If the payment failed, the most likely reason would be insufficient funds, not that the card itself was unusable.Unfortunately, Bella didn’t get a chance to think that far. Her mind was a mess from all the unexpected events of the day."That can’t be right—try swiping it again," Leon said, refusing to accept it.Bella just stayed quiet, seeming to calm herself down. Her thoughts felt scattered, and the sounds around her seemed to fade into the background for a moment. After swiping the card a second time, the cashier shook their head. This time, their previously friendly expression turned cold. What was the point of insisting? If you didn’t have the money, you should just leav

In his mind, Leon thought the earlier warning should have been enough to scare the man off. But when he glanced at Hanna and saw her expression, he immediately understood what was really going on.Hanna had always been cunning and manipulative. It didn’t take much to figure out she’d egged her boyfriend on, making him regain his confidence. What made Leon even angrier was that this time, Hanna hadn’t just come with Henri—she’d brought two more friends along, who just happened to be their former middle school classmates too."What are you doing here again?" Bella asked sharply. She automatically handed back the black card she’d taken from Leon earlier, then faced Hanna, Henri, and their two middle school friends—Penny and Viona—square on."Why shouldn’t I be here? Everyone has the right to come in," Hanna shot back. Her face was full of arrogance and pride, a sly smile curving at the corner of her mouth."Oh, so this is the boyfriend you were talking about?" Viona cut in. She looked at
