Chapter Fifteen

Selena was in her garden, tending to her flowers, when she noticed a commotion. She looked up and saw more than 20 large black SUVs turning up the street. Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt a surge of fear.

Rushing inside, she grabbed her phone and dialed her husband, Elijah. The phone rang, but there was no answer. She tried again, her hands shaking. Still, no answer. Panic started to set in as she realized Elijah wasn't picking up.

She hurried to check on her twin boys, who were playing in the backyard. "Boys, come inside quickly," she called out, trying to hide the fear in her voice. They sensed something was wrong and followed her inside, their faces filled with curiosity and concern.
