Adolphus hurried back to the hostel to change. He was going home to meet with his mother so they can move into their new home together.

Although it was a very good feeling, Adolphus knew that he wouldn't be able to hide something like that from his friends for a long time.

They knew his current home and knew his mother very well.

Eventually, the truth would come out but for the meantime, he wanted it hidden.

Everything was still fresh. He just became a billionaire the previous night. It was really an overwhelming feeling.

Adolphus was sharing a room with his friends in the hostel and surprisingly, they weren't around when he got home.

It had just stopped pouring and he got changed into warm dry clothes and was on his way out when his phone began to ring.

One glance on the phone screen, Adolphus's face darkened as he saw the identity of the caller.

It was Joel. The guy who humiliated Adolphus while he was washing his clothes.

Joel was a bully like Richmond. However, Adolphus could not refuse him any time he was called because Joel pays him well.

Adolphus rolled his eyes at the screen before answering the call.

“Hello." 

“Hey, Minion. Come over here right now. I have a job for you." Joel ordered but Adolphus didn't give him an immediate response.

“Can you even hear me or have you added being deaf to your poverty portfolio.” Joel snapped at him, throwing direct insults like it meant nothing.

Well, it actually meant nothing to Adolphus at that time.

He used to feel bad about it in the past when Joel threw those insults at him while sending him on an errand. But at that moment, it sounded like he was just making some noise.

“I'm busy Joel, send someone else." Adolphus replied back but the laughter that came from the other end of the phone got him confused.

What was so funny about his response that Joel had to laugh at him.

“Did I say something funny, Joel. I only told you to look for someone else to do the job for you. I'm busy right now." 

“You can't be serious, minion. In fact, you can't be too busy for me so get your ass over here or I won't be calling you for more errands in the future." 

“Remember that I pay very well, better than everyone else and you've confirmed it yourself. You need the money for your school and I'm sure that an extra hundred bucks will do a lot of good for you.” 

Joel was sounding like he was trying to convince Adolphus to change his mind after threatening him.

Actually, he had no intention of deposing Adolphus as he was the only one that does the job very well even after being humiliated.

Adolphus always put a lot of effort in doing his duty and that's one thing Joel loves about him.

“Don't tell me you're actually letting this hundred bucks pass you by." Joel added, trying to convince Adolphus to change his mind and hurry over. However, the latter only remained silent and began to walk out of the hostel.

“Find someone else, I'm not available right now so stop trying to convince me." 

“I'm not trying to convince you, Minion. I'm just warning you to not miss this opportunity I'm giving to you. If you refuse me this time, I won't call you again.”

"And don't you ever come back begging for a chance to go on an errand for me, I won't consider you.”

"And what makes you think that I'll ever come and beg you for a job, Joel? Look, if that will ever happen in the future, then it'll be only in your dreams.”

Adolphus's words sounded rude to Joel and he got really offended. He was about to flare up at Adolphus but the latter ended the call and went to hail a cab.

Inside the car, his phone began to ring again and he ended the call when he saw that it was Joel again.

Adolphus was certain that his last response got Joel really pissed and he can imagine the look on his face.

Joel must be a raging bull at that moment. His ego had been completely crushed by the one he sees as a minion.

And truly, Joel was very pissed at Adolphus for his action.

The call came in again and Adolphus ended it and blocked the number immediately, stopping Joel from bothering him any longer.

Adolphus thought about his friends at that very moment and decided to put a call across to Donald.

The call went through immediately.

“Adol, where have you been? Glover and I waited for you at the hostel but you didn't show up. We went out to grab some coffee for the weather so hurry up and join us." 

“Don't worry, I'll pay for you.”

"I'm sorry, I have something urgent to attend to at home so I won't be joining you guys. Just go ahead without me. I'll see you soon and please convey my message to Glover.” Adolphus replied and sensed the surprise at the other end of the line.

"What's going on with you, Adol? You've been acting strange since this morning.” The person who spoke was Glover. He had taken the phone out of Donald's ears when he learned who the caller was.

“There's nothing going on with me. I'll see you tomorrow.” Adolphus ended the call immediately.

His friends were worried about him and he appreciates their concern but for the meantime, he needs to put some things together before revealing the truth to them.

After a few minutes' drive, the cab arrived at the building where he and his mother were renting an apartment.

Although some cars were parked at that garage. However, one stood out. It was a luxury sedan car, a Rolls Royce. No one who lived in that building could afford such a car.

A middle aged man alighted from it and approached him with a warm smile. “Young master, I'm here to drive you to your new home." He said.
