Adolphus was very aware that that was the handiwork of his newly found father.
Nicolas McAllen had sent the driver over to the place but Adolphus could not comprehend how he was able to find out when they planned on moving into his new home.
In his confusion, the man decided to clarify. “My name is Bradley Rock and I was sent by your father to drive you to your new home."
“I'm your new driver and your Dad had earlier called your mother and it was confirmed that you're moving this evening. That's the reason I showed up here to wait for you."
Adolphus nodded at him. "Oh, ok. That explains why you're here because I've not sent word to my Dad about our relocation.”
The man only smiled back at Adolphus, unsure of what response to give to him.
Adolphus gave him a quick scrutiny and deduced that he must be in his early forties. He was dressed well in an expensive suit but not like the one his father wore the previous night. His father's suit looked more expensive.
“So, I'll wait for you guys to get ready.”
"Please, call my Dad. I have to confirm that you were sent by him.” Adolphus had to be sure because he wouldn't just trust the words of a stranger.
If Nicolas confirms that he sent the man, then they'll go ahead.
“Sure, I'll do that immediately.”
Bradley quickly pulled out his phone from the inner pocket of his blazer and put a call across to Nicolas. He answered on the second ring.
“Boss, the young master wants to confirm that I was sent by you. I'll hand the phone over to him now."
Without another word, Adolphus received the phone from the man and answered the call.
“Good evening, Sir."
“It's, Dad, not Sir." Nicolas corrected him and he let out a chuckle. “Ok, Dad. I just wanted to be sure that you sent Mr. Bradley over here."
“Yes, I did. I got confirmation from your mother and she informed me about your decision to move into your new home. That's the reason I sent Bradley. He'll be your driver from now onward."
"Alright. Thank you so much, Dad. And tell Nana that I'll meet her up tomorrow night. Let her choose a good venue because I will not go to your home. I'm afraid that your wife will come after me and my mother.” Adolphus commented, expressing his fears and there was a brief silence before Nicolas replied to him.
"I understand, son. However, I'll give you some time to prepare yourself because you'll eventually face the reality of the situation.”
"She's your step mother and you have a half sister so you won't be able to hide from them forever.”
"Moreover, you're a McAllen and McAllens don't cower in fear. We face our fears and being that you're my heir, you have to prepare your mind for future uncertainties.”
"Do you understand me?”
"Yes, Dad. I understand all that you've just said and I'll start getting ready to face whatever will come at me in the future.”
"Good, that's my boy. Now, get into that car as a McAllen that you are and go to your new home.” Nicolas ordered and Adolphus swept into action.
With a bright smile on his face, he handed the phone back to Bradley and hurried to get his mother who had been waiting for him.
“You're finally home." She muttered as soon as the door was open and Adolphus walked into it.
“Mom, are you ready?"
“Of course, I'm very ready as you can see. I've packed all our belongings." Doris replied, pointing at all the bags before her.
She had parked all her clothes and that of Adolphus's that was there. She even packed some of the kitchen utensils, toiletries and every other thing she thought they needed.
With furrowed brows, Adolphus casted a serious look on all the luggages and shook his head vigorously.
“Mom, we're not going there with any of these."
“I don't understand." Doris protested. “Are these not what we've been using all these while? I bought them with my money so why won't I go with it?"
She lowered herself and took up their frying pan, pointing it at Adolphus's face.
“Like this frying, I bought it for a hundred dollars after I got paid from a cleaning job I did many years ago. You were still younger at the time.”
Adolphus could not help but start laughing. He laughed for a long time, leaving his mother glaring at him.
“You're the only one who found my words funny because I don't know what's so funny. Is it that I bought our frying pan…”
"Mom, please.” Adolphus interrupted his mother while scrutinizing the luggage before him.
"Not even a pin from this house is leaving here with us. We have no assets or I would have told you to bring the documents along. However, none of the things before my face are needed.”
"We're going to give them out to those people who need them more than us. So let go.” Adolphus reached out and grabbed his mother by the wrist, pulling her out of the house.
“But, Adol…”
"Not another word, Mom. And don't worry, I'll call the landlord and inform him of the new development.”
"Come on.”
Doris was reluctant to let go at first. She had worked so hard to buy every single item they own so it was hard to let go.
“We're leaving this place for good so don't bother. Your hard work won't be a waste because people who need those items will be very grateful to you."
Their little tiff got some neighbors out of their apartments and many eyes were fixed on them, wondering what was going on.
Adolphus gave no one any explanation as he continued to pull his mother out of the building until they got to the garage.

The food will serve them for the rest of the day, and the remainder will be refrigerated and preheated the next day for breakfast. Gina, with bloodshot eyes, turned to face Svetlana, glaring daggers at her daughter. “You are a foolish young lady who's even ashamed of her mother. You're ashamed of who you are. And look at the kind of friends you're keeping.”Gina sucked her teeth while shaking her head in disgust. “I feel sorry for you. And if
