As they approached him, Bradley hurried over to open the back seat door for Doris and she got inside, her eyes fixed on the building.

She looked really emotional about leaving the only place she'd known as home for a very long time.

Bradley wanted to open the door of the passenger seat for Adolphus but he beat the man to it. “There won't be any need for that, Sir. I'd like to always open my doors myself."

“Of course, Young Master." Bradley nodded and bowed slightly before going over to the door of the driver's seat. He got in and drove off afterwards while Adolphus and his mother bade their final goodbye to their home.

It was an overwhelming feeling for Adolphus as he still could not believe the sudden change in their lives.

They were going to a better place and leaving behind the life they've always known.

He was born in penury and could still not explain how his mother survived those years without help.

She must really be a super woman.

Adolphus lifted his gaze and glanced at the rearview mirror and when his eyes met with his mom's who was seated at the back, he flashed a smile at her and she returned it.

He had a lot going on in his mind and his mother knew it but didn't utter a word. They just remained silent as they were driven off.

After over an hour's drive, they arrived at the New villa. It was quite big but not as big as the family mansion.

The yard had been tended to with flowers beautifully trimmed, adorning the place. There was a swimming pool at the left side of the yard.

The place was beyond what they ever imagined to own in their lives.

As they stepped down from the car, the domestic staff approached them. There were about four of them and had been given instructions on their duties.

“Welcome young master, welcome Ma'am.” They greeted Adolphus and his mother, bowing slightly.

Adolphus and his mother nodded at each of them and replied, smiling warmly. “Thank you all."

Bradley led the way into the house since it was almost time to have dinner.

The chef and two maids emerged from the kitchen with their hands full. There were a lot of dishes ranging from chicken cheese salad, roasted vegetables, cheese pizza, Stuffed jacket potatoes, creamy polenta and some other dishes which they've never seen or tasted.

It was as if they were having a party, just that the party was for only two people, Adolphus and his mother.

The duo would never be able to finish all the food on the long marble table even in a week.

It was just too much.

They were led to the dining table and settled on their seats while Bradley stood aside, as well as the chef and the maids.

“Young Master, we made everything according to Mr. McAllen's orders. They're all for you and Ma'am Doris.” The chef pointed out while Adolphus nodded, grinning from ear to ear.

“Thank you but it's too much. Next time, don't make a lot of…” Adolphus was still speaking when Bradley interrupted him with a fake cough.

Doris even nudged him and muttered to only his hearing. “This is not the time to complain. Let's just enjoy our dinner and the maids will take care of the remainder."

“Ok, Mom." Adolphus muttered a response before they dug into their dinner.

He even signaled Bradley and the others to join them but they only smiled and shook their heads.

They wouldn't dare sit on the same table with their Boss to eat, that'd be disrespectful. And Nicolas would not hesitate to fire them if he heard about it.

After their meals, they were led to their room which was five times bigger than their former apartment.

In fact, everything at the place screamed luxury, with all the personal things they'd ever need neatly arranged for them.

Before he went to bed, Adolphus received a call from his grandmother. It was an unknown number and at first, he was reluctant to answer it but decided to find out who was calling.

“My dear, Adolphus. It's your grandmother so you must save my number on your phone."

“Oh, Nana. I thought it was someone else so I was afraid to answer the call."

“It's ok. I heard from your father that you want to meet with me tomorrow evening."

“Yes, if you don't mind."

“Of course, I don't mind. I look forward to seeing you, my dear grandson. I really can't wait. Meet me at our hotel, McAllen hotel, 7pm. Don't worry, I'll call you to remind you again.”

"However, you should remember that you always have a place here with us in the mansion. You shouldn't be afraid to face your step mother." Sandra McAllen said to him, repeating the earlier words of his father.

"Yes, Ma'am. I'll always have that in mind. But for now, I don't think I'm ready to face a step family."

“Just take your time and make sure you come out with one of the best results, I'm counting on you, just like your Dad is counting on you to take over McAllen corporation.”

“Of course, I'll do my best and I promise not to disappoint you or break your trust after what you've done for me.”

The call ended and another one came in immediately.

As Adolphus glanced down at his phone, he didn't know if he should throw it away.

Svetlana was calling him and he could not explain what she wanted from him.

They have no business together any longer so what does she want?

The call ended but she called back again and Adolphus reluctantly answered it. “What the fuck do you want from me, Svet? You clearly humiliated me after breaking up with me at your birthday party.”

Adolphus was caught off guard by the gesture and hesitated, but Donald quickly reached out and took the bags.“Thank you so much, ma. I'm very sure that we're going to enjoy your food.”Donald was smiling hard as he glanced into the bags and saw many dishes inside. The food will serve them for the rest of the day, and the remainder will be refrigerated and preheated the next day for breakfast. Donald, who had lost his mother since his early teenage years, had so much missed the taste of meals prepared by a mother. He was so looking forward to enjoying the homemade meals on his hands.Gina smiled warmly, nodded a few times with pursed lips, and began to leave the place without looking back. Her friends, Hope, and Prisca could not move an inch after the unexpected slap. They just stood at a spot, sobbing and nursing their faces. They were very rude and thought everyone would take shit from them. Unfortunately, Svetlana had sworn to be foolish, unlike her younger sister, who's a smart teenager. Gina, with bloodshot eyes, turned to face Svetlana, glaring daggers at her daughter. “You are a foolish young lady who's even ashamed of her mother. You're ashamed of who you are. And look at the kind of friends you're keeping.”Gina sucked her teeth while shaking her head in disgust. “I feel sorry for you. And if

“Yeah, I agree with Donald.” Glover commented. “You're becoming too careless, Adolphus and your actions may cost you your education.”"And remember, we're in our final year which are very delicate times.
