Chapter 25

The confidence Adolphus exuded this time was quite intimidating. 

When he had gone with his friends the first time, he didn't display that level of confidence. So his attitude this time left the man wondering what he was up to.

“No invitation, no entry." The man stood his ground, wanting to look modest but he was tempted to ask what Adolphus meant by the words he had earlier spoken.

Without wasting much time, Adolphus went straight to the point. 

Before he brought out his wallet, he turned to his friends and saw that they weren't looking. He took out the wallet from his trousers pocket and brought out a total sum of five thousand dollars which he handed to the man.

The man in turn, reached out to collect the money but Adolphus held onto it.

“Do we have a deal because I'm going in with my friends." 

The man nodded repeatedly with a grin on his face, his hands still stretched out.

“And before I hand this money to you, I need you to look away and act like nothing happened. I don't want my friends to find out about this deal.” Adolphus added, giving the man a very serious look.

"Of course, I'll do just as you've said." 

“Good." Adolphus handed the money to him and made sure that CCTV footage of the place captured the process in case the man tried to deny him.

He turned around and called out to his friends, beckoning them to come to him.

They were hesitant at first but he nodded at them, smiling which gave them the conviction they needed.

“Come on, guys. Let's go and party." 

After Glover and Donald joined him, they were tempted to ask their usual questions but Adolphus spoke first.

“I just explained to him that we're Richmond's classmates and friends and he must have forgotten to invite us.”

"I even had to show him my school identity card.”

"Is that all you told the man that he had to let us in?” Donald inquired but before Adolphus could say something, they heard a very loud noise and he began to hurry over to the place.

"Come on, guys. Let's go and find out what's going on. 

The party was happening close to the swimming pool and Richmond was addressing everyone at that moment.

It was just like Svetlana had informed him. Richmond was talking down on Adolphus at his party and making him an object of ridicule.

Were they not supposed to be having fun without mentioning his name?

“Guys, do you believe that a minion like Adolphus can ever get me arrested? I only followed the policemen because they wanted to ask me some questions.”

"There's no way Adolphus can get me arrested for framing him.”

"That's right. You're Richmond Wright and he's just a minion. He doesn't even have money to eat good food. How can he get someone like you arrested?" Someone from the crowd agreed with him.

“But Richmond, you should have invited him over to your party so he can eat good food for once in his lifetime." 

“Someone like Adolphus will never be able to afford a good meal. I'm sure it'd be a privilege for him to have a nice meal here." 

"Nah, I can't bring trash into my home. If he was here, I'm sure that this party would be ruined because no one would want him closer. I don't want that either. Let's just enjoy the party and forget about that arrest.” Richmond replied to their questions.

From where Adolphus stood, his eyes met with Abigail and she gave him an apologetic look but he turned his face away without a word.

“When will you get my name off that rotten mouth of yours, Richmond Wright?” Adolphus announced his presence with that question and everyone turned to his direction.

Some people stayed silent, waiting for Adolphus's next action while some began to murmur amongst themselves.

“I thought he wasn't invited. How come he's here?" 

“What's the minion doing here? And he's all dressed up in nice clothes." 

“Yeah, the outfit looks new. Maybe he bought it with all his savings just to show off a little." 

As they gossiped amongst themselves, Adolphus heard them laughing but didn't care about the side talks.

He made his way to where Richmond was standing, took the microphone from him, leaving him stunned and wondering what happened.

He didn't expect to see Adolphus at that place. Aside from getting in without invitation, he was not supposed to be a free person.

He was supposed to be at that abandoned chemistry laboratory where they left him.

Richmond's intention was to teach Adolphus a lesson. He wanted Adolphus to sleep over at that dirty place. However , Adolphus was fortunate to be freed but how come?

While a lot of thoughts were going through the mind of Richmond, Adolphus scanned the place and saw Svetlana giving him a dirty look.

She also wondered how Adolphus was able to break free from where he had been locked up.

‘Maybe he should have been tied up.’ Svetlana thought to herself, seeing that she and her boyfriend had failed in their quest to keep Adolphus locked up.

Adolphus turned briefly to Richmond before facing the curious crowd.

“Tell me guys, what are we supposed to call someone who attacks from behind. Is such a person not a coward?” Adolphus inquired, with raised brows and a very serious expression.

He boldly made eye contact with a lot of people without lowering his face.

Many of the students could not comprehend anything. Some noticed how confident Adolphus had become.

Although he was dressed nicely, there's something different about him. 

The Adolphus they knew, would never display that level of confidence.

“What are you implying?" Richmond barked with a disapproving scowl on his face.

He tried to take the microphone but Adolphus hid it behind his back. 

“Why don't you tell them what a coward you are, Richmond. Tell everyone what you did to me earlier."
