"What the fuck are you talking about, Adolphus?” Richmond yelled at him, his eyes cold but there was some mischief in it.

“I'm talking about the stunt you pulled earlier. It's only cowards who'd bring themselves so low and do something like that." Adolphus flared back at him, returning the glare.

There was no atom of fear in his eyes and that action alone left everyone perplexed.

The almighty Richmond Wright was addressed as a coward before everyone else. 

The feelings the others had were a mixture of surprise and confusion. 

A lowly person such as Adolphus was challenging and humiliating Richmond in public and it looked normal. 

It was almost like Adolphus was his rival.

Well, they were somehow rivals since Richmond took his girlfriend away from him.

Adolphus closed in on Richmond, staring into his eyes before muttering. “Richmond Wright, you and that bitch you sent to lure me into that laboratory are going to pay dearly for what you did." 

"Mark my words.”

After that, Adolphus lifted his hands a little higher and dropped the microphone from up. It almost fell on Richmond's feet but he didn't care.

He turned around and began to walk away in a hurry, leaving his friends scurrying behind him.

Adolphus's little dramatic display and threat changed everyone's mood and all their eyes fell on Richmond, waiting for him to do something.

He stared aimlessly like someone who was floating in an ocean. 

Just like everyone else, Richmond was stunned and could not comprehend where the temerity came from.

How did Adolphus get access into his home and come to humiliate him before everyone else.

After a long pause, Richmond pulled himself together and forced out a smile.

“Everyone, don't pay heed to the words of that minion. I'm sure he was here to see if he could run some errands and make extra money." 

“The minion's words should not be taken seriously. Don't let him spoil the fun so enjoy yourself." 

Richmond signaled for the music to continue because it had earlier been paused when he was addressing everyone.

His friends, Vincent and Gabriel quickly walked up to him and they excused themselves while everyone else continued dancing.

“Rich, should we go after him and deal with him for this insolence." One of them inquired but Richmond shook his head. “No, that's not necessary right now. We have to take our time and plan a comeback, one that'd send him packing from this school.”

"That's right. He totally embarrassed you Rich.” The person who spoke was Gabriel but got a glare in return.

“And what did you do about it? You just stood there gaping like a fool that you are.”

Richmond has the habit of picking on his friends, especially Gabriel. And this happens to them anything he had been provoked.

“I'm sorry, Rich. We were all caught unawares and didn't know what to do at that moment, especially in the presence of everyone." Gabriel replied, lowering his head a little while Richmond gave him another dirty look.

“That's enough. Moreover, the deed is already done." Richmond replied to him before turning around and walking away.

He went to a quieter part of the yard and sat alone, thinking about the earlier incident.

Meanwhile, Adolphus hurried out of the Wright's residence and just a few steps outside, he was blocked by Joel.

"You've really grown very strong wings." He spoke with a mischievous grin on his face as he closed in on Adolphus.

Donald and Glover wanted to interfere but Adolphus stopped with a wave of his right hands.

"Don't worry, guys. I think I can handle this one.”

Without a word, Donald and Glover stepped aside, watching while anticipating the drama that was to be displayed before them.

Adolphus had become unusually bold and a little ruthless.

“You.” Joel called out, pointing at Adolphus who had a mischievous look on his face.

Joel could be forming a big boy and running his mouth but he was all talk.

There was nothing more he could do but run his mouth and threaten Adolphus because the latter used to be at his mercy.

“You actually have some nerve biting the hands that had been feeding you.”

"Hmph. Hahaha” Adolphus could not help but laugh at the young man before him.

"Can you explain how you've been feeding me? You hand me change after I slave myself away for you while you continue to treat me like I'm not a human being.”

"Have you forgotten how you used to beg me to give you a job? Now, I can see that you don't need me anymore.”

"You want to start rubbing shoulders with the big boys, that's why you blocked my number.”

"And is that the reason you came here to challenge Richmond.” 

Joel sucked his teeth while shaking his head, disgust written all over his face.

"You're yet to understand what you just brought upon yourself. Richmond is going to deal with you for insulting him before everyone.”

“Then I'll be waiting for him. But wait, who says I won't be the one to deal with him.”

While Adolphus and Joel exchanged words, Donald and Glover only listened in silence while often exchanging glances.

They were gradually getting used to the new Adolphus.

Someone who had the effrontery to challenge Richmond in his home, what more could they expect.

He was displaying a version of Adolphus they didn't know existed.

“You are just running your mouth and showing your bad character before someone that may save you in the future." 

“A broke ass son of a bitch like you should learn some respect. But don't worry, you'll learn it the hard way." Joel gave him one last scrutiny before walking away.

Adolphus, who had a wicked smile on his face turned to stare at the retreating back to Joel.

“Maybe, I'll start from you, arrogant brat." He muttered to himself.

At that moment, Donald and Glover closed in on him. "You've really got a death wish.”
