Inside the prison, there was a tall, bulky man. His eyes were fixed on Nate, who had just entered. The white-skinned man seemed to stare at Nate from head to toe. The man then grinned happily as he continued to stare at Nate.
"Brown skin, a well-built body, and a lovely gaze. You're my type," the seated man said.
"I don't know what you're talking about. But if you are indeed my friend in this prison, then at least introduce yourself," said Nate, who was still standing.
"You seem to have never felt the bitterness of life to dare behave like this to me," said the man who had been sitting and staring at Nate.
There were loud cheers and whistles from the other cells as the other inmates saw the man standing. His body was noticeably more muscular and larger than Nate's, but Nate remained calm, not looking away.
"I'm Boars. Tell me your name," the man standing in front of Nate said.
"I'm Nate," Nate replied briefly.
"What did you do wrong to be brought to this prison?" asked Boars, taking off his shirt as if to show off his muscles in front of Nate.
"I was accused of killing a maid," Nate replied.
"Hahaha... killing just one person?" asked Boars with a laugh.
"Yes," Nate replied briefly.
"Hahaha... then you don't do much around here. Strip in front of me!" ordered Boars with a laugh.
But Nate did not comply and continued to stand calmly and stare at Boars.
"Just so you know. I came here because I raped twenty men before cutting up their bodies! So follow my orders quickly if you want to survive," Boars said, glaring at Nate.
"I'm not a fool to just take orders from someone else," Nate refused.
"You look like a fool!" Boars snapped as he shook his fist at Nate's face.
There was a loud crash as Boars' punch hit Nate's face. Blood seemed to flow from the corner of Nate's mouth. But Nate's body did not move an inch. Instead, he stared intently at Boars as if challenging him.
"You're not so bad," Boars grumbled as he clenched his fist again.
"But our physical differences are too great," Boars said as he swung his fist at Nate's neck.
This time, Nate used his hand to block Boars' fist from hitting his neck. Nate also countered Boars' attack this time by putting his right foot into the gap between Boars' legs, soon Nate hooked one of Boars' legs to the side so that his body leaned forward.
That's when Nate swung the knee of his left leg to hit Boars hard on the chin. Boars could only squeal in pain as his body was trapped by Nate's body position and he could no longer dodge. His body also lost its balance as Nate hooked his leg wide.
Nate didn't stop there, he lifted the arm he was holding above Boars' head. Nate used his left elbow to press down on Boar's neck from above. While Nate's left knee pressed down on Boar's chin from below.
"Argh!" screamed Boars, who felt pain in his neck.
Everyone who saw this looked surprised. They did not expect that Boars, who had a taller and bigger body, could be paralyzed so easily by Nate. Boars grimaced in pain, his body immobile because the pain would increase if he moved.
"Fights are not just about posture, but many things determine victory in them. You're too arrogant by relying on your big body, I'm sure all your victims are just mentally weak people who are afraid just by looking at your posture," Nate said.
"You Argh!" the boar screamed, trying to fight back, but he was in pain again as Nate tightened the grip.
"I've lived in a tough neighborhood since I was born. Pain and injury from fights are my daily bread. I'm not afraid to face someone like you who's all about attitude!" Nate said as he slammed Boars' body to the ground.
Boars let out another scream of pain as his face hit the ground hard. Blood began to ooze from his nostrils and the corners of his lips. Meanwhile, Nate immediately stomped his foot down on Boar's neck as he tried to get up.
"Argh!" screamed Boars as Nate stomped on his neck.
"I'd rather finish you right here if you're going to keep bothering me," Nate threatened.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again, don't kill me," said Boars, who looked scared when he saw Nate's cold stare.
"If you do it again, I will never forgive you!" said Nate as he kicked Boars in the face.
Boars let out a loud scream as Nate's kick hit his nose and cheek. The blood seemed to come out more and more. Meanwhile, Nate immediately sat down on the bed with his prisoner identification number. Meanwhile, Boars continued to grimace on the floor while holding his sore nose.
"Looks like it's going to be pretty hard to survive here. It's going to take a lot of influence for me to get through the day with any peace of mind," Nate muttered as he lay down on the bed.
***
Day after day had passed since Nate entered the most dangerous prison in the world. The law no longer applied there. Every day there were inmates who died in fights or beatings. Anyone can be killed or murdered at will without police interference.
Some of them even died because of the police. All prisoners there are sentenced to life imprisonment or death. Only strong people can live there comfortably without interference from other prisoners. Groups are also very influential there, because the stronger the group, the more the members are respected.
Nate served his sentence for over six months. Every day he struggled to survive in between activities that were scheduled by the prison. Boars, who had been beaten the first time, became one of his followers there.
In just six months, Nate had built a respected group. He had defeated many prisoners from other powerful groups, either in one-on-one duels or in group duels.
His group, nicknamed Dark Crimson, became one of the three most respected large groups of prisoners. They even nicknamed Nate "Nate Crimson" because of his toughness and brutality in battle. Because of his influence, Nate and his group were able to live quietly in the prison without being disturbed by anyone.
"Mr. Nate, there is news that an important guest is coming here by helicopter," a member of Nate's group reported.
"Important guest?" muttered Nate, who was sleeping while being fanned by two of his men.
"Yes, sir. He seems to have brought a private helicopter with an escort of two other helicopters," the reporting Nate replied.
"Leave it. There's no way we can take the helicopter if they're under heavy escort. We'll have to think of another way if we're going to escape this godforsaken place," Nate said as he picked up the grapes on his table.
"I'm sorry, sir. But I have another reason for telling you this. Right now Boars are still watching them meeting. Even the Red and Blue groups are sending their men to keep an eye on the important guests," Nate's men said.
"Then what's your reason?" asked Nate as he gave his men a sharp look.
"The helicopter has the emblem of Lucius' business group on it," Nate's men replied.
"Are you serious? How did you know it was the emblem of Lucius' business group?" asked Nate with a shocked look on his face.
"I'm sure, sir. I know the symbol of Lucius' business group because I'm also from the State of Vienna like you," Nate's men replied confidently.

Chapter 189: The Richest Man No One Knows
Five years is enough time for a city to forget almost anything, if the city wants to forget it badly enough, and Vienna had wanted to forget a great deal. The Lucius name still existed, technically. It sat on a handful of old deeds nobody bothered updating, on a mausoleum in the public cemetery where fewer flowers arrived every year, on the occasional business-school case study about family conglomerates that collapsed under their own cruelty a footnote now, cited the way people cited old scandals they only half remembered the details of, more useful as a cautionary shape than as a story anyone still felt anything about. The Alphons name had gone the same way, faster if anything, folded into two paragraphs of a magazine retrospective about corporate consolidation in the hospitality sector, Fredric's own photograph reduced to a small inset beside a chart showing which of his properties had changed hands and to whom. Robert had kept the government-facing pieces alive, quietly, the wa
Chapter 188: Nate Evander
He didn't answer Luna that night. She hadn't pushed him to, had simply watched him stand there with the question hanging unanswered between them, and after a while she'd risen, touched his arm once, briefly, and let herself out without making him fill a silence he wasn't ready to fill. He'd stood in the kitchen a long while after she left, the last glass still in his hand, and understood, finally, that the question wasn't one he could answer standing in an apartment full of the last two years' furniture, surrounded by everything he'd built to survive a war that no longer existed. He drove to the cemetery three days later, alone, no earpiece, no car following at a discreet distance, because some places had stopped needing an escort the moment the last man who might have threatened him there had already been buried himself. The morning was cold in the particular way autumn got cold before it fully committed to winter, the sky a flat, colorless gray that made the grass look duller tha
Chapter 187: What's Left of Dark Crimson
Jo hadn't set foot in the basement in three weeks, and the strangeness of that still hadn't worn off. He kept catching himself reaching for a phone that didn't need to buzz every hour anymore, kept waking at four in the morning out of pure habit and lying there in the dark of an apartment that actually had windows now, curtains he'd chosen himself, waiting for an emergency that never arrived. The meeting happened at Nate's place, the same kitchen table that had held a hundred plans over two years, coffee rings worn permanent into the wood, though tonight nobody had bothered pulling up a corkboard or a laptop or a floor plan of anything at all. Just five chairs, five people, and a bottle of something dark and expensive that Boars had brought and nobody had touched yet. Nate sat at the head of the table the way he always sat, though something in his posture tonight carried less weight than Jo had seen from him in longer than he could remember, the particular looseness of a man who'd
Chapter 186: Delta Ascendant
Sean had never planned a party for four hundred people before, and it showed in the way he kept checking his phone every few minutes even though every possible thing that could go wrong had already been accounted for three times over by a events coordinator he'd hired specifically because she didn't panic at things Sean still panicked at. The ballroom Delta Group had rented for the night sat on the top two floors of a hotel that, six months ago, would have politely declined a company Sean's size the honor of even asking. Tonight the banners hung floor to ceiling on either side of the stage DELTA GROUP, the logo simple, unadorned, the same clean lettering Sean had picked out himself in a rented apartment two years ago with mismatched furniture and a burner phone buzzing on the table beside him. "You look like you're about to give a eulogy instead of a toast," Joseph said, appearing at his elbow with two glasses of champagne, handing one over without asking whether Sean wanted it. "
Chapter 185: Dominic and Sicilia, Last Images
The letter arrived on prison stationery, the return address stamped rather than written, and Nate turned it over twice in his hands before he let himself open it, standing at the kitchen counter with the morning's coffee gone cold beside him the way it always went cold lately, nobody in this apartment ever quite finishing a cup before the next thing needed doing. He recognized the handwriting before he'd read a single line of it. Careful, looping, the particular practiced neatness of a man who'd spent his whole life believing penmanship was one more small proof of superiority over people who'd never had the leisure to perfect it. “Nate ” “I don't expect a reply. I'm not sure I'd know what to do with one if it came. I've had a great deal of time in here to think about the shape of what happened to me, and I find I keep circling back to one particular morning the party, the recording, the sound of my own voice on every screen in Vienna before I'd even finished my coffee that day. I
Chapter 184: Frans's Inheritance
The apartment Robert's people found him was smaller than the one he'd given up the night he broke into his father's study, three rooms above a dry cleaner's in a part of the city Frans had driven through a hundred times without ever once considering he might live there. The radiator clanked when it ran. The window in the bedroom didn't quite close all the way, so a thin line of cold always found its way in along the sill, and Frans had taken to keeping a rolled towel there, the particular petty domesticity of a man who'd spent thirty-one years with staff to handle exactly this kind of problem and now had nobody but himself. He'd been living there eleven days when Robert's lawyer called to arrange the meeting. "Your uncle would like to see you," the lawyer said, a careful, neutral voice that gave away nothing about what waited on the other end of the arrangement. "There are matters concerning the estate that require your presence, given your father's passing." "Which matters." "I'
