Awoken to No One
The sounds of bird chirping in the distance was the first melody which Damien listened pleasantly as he opened his eyes to daylight again. His vision was hazy at first as he stared directly at the ceiling, of where he could see the streaks of the sunlight piercing his window blinds. Dust danced upon the sun’s rays.

Damien investigated the room. It was his. But he didn’t remember a single thing of how he ended up in there.

“Argh…” a pang seeped through the male’s head as his vision starts glitching. His surroundings go mute for a few seconds. He swept his head slowly to the side and felt someone’s touch reach his cheek. The arm prevented Damien from spinning his head too much with an embrace.

“Jesus… Damien!” this woman cried. “Don’t move so much!”

“Mrs. Claude?”

Eloise Claude pulled herself away from the male and sighed. Her face was stricken with worry. She had been sitting on the male’s bedside for days and was losing all her hope for him to wake up.
