Seeing how Dr Ben was in utter awe at what Richard had done, Collin became quite confused.
“Dr Ben, why are you staring at his retreating figure like you’ve just seen a ghost?” Collin asked. “What he did was incredible but it’s just acupuncture, isn’t it?” Ben averted his awestruck gaze to Collin and said, shaking his head rapidly, “The Katharos Needle Technique is not just acupuncture.” “I have only seen this technique in a rare medical manual my teacher treasured so much. And even though I studied it for several years, I couldn’t master it!” “Wow!” Collins' eyes widened, realizing that they might have seriously underestimated Richard. “Janae,” he called, “go after the young man now!” A cold sweat formed on Ben’s forehead as he began to regret his earlier disrespect, realizing that he might have offended someone with such great skill. He wiped his brow and quickly followed Janae, hoping to make amends and apologize to Richard as well. As soon as Janae got outside, she saw Richard just some steps away. “Excuse me!” she called out and fastened her pace. “Yes ma’am.” “I didn't get to introduce myself, I’m Janae Vester.” “Richard,” he replied plainly. “The truth is that I came out here to apologize…” Janae began, her eyes soft and pleading. “I’m really sorry about how we might have disrespected you as a family. Please if you can find it in your heart to forgive us, I’d really appreciate it...” Richard waved his hand, cutting her off gently. “There’s no need for all that,” he said, his tone cool. “It’s not a big deal. It’s totally fine.” Richard had never really been one to care about how people viewed him. “But still,” she replied. “Thank you for coming. We’ll forever be indebted to you.” Richard nodded, “You’re welcome Ms. Janae. I only came because of the exclusive card and now that everything has been taken care of, I should take my leave now.” With that, he bowed slightly and turned to leave. But Janae quickly stopped him, “Wait. Before you leave…” she said, reaching into her purse. “Please take this.” In her hand was a gold card. The gold card represented the Vester family and with it, Richard could receive the highest level of service and respect at any of their family’s businesses. She thought it was the least she could do for him. He took the card, thanked her and turned to leave. He was a bit eager to leave so he could start gathering the herbs to treat Sir Morrigan. Just then, Dr Ben reached outside and ran towards Richard. “Master…” “I don’t think you should call me that,” Richard cut him off immediately. “Sir,” Ben said instead, “I’m really sorry about everything I did to you in there. Please forgive me. I’m extremely sorry, I’m such an old fool…” “Look sir, it’s alright,” Richard bluntly said. “Sir, please I’d like to ask for a favor,” Ben continued. “There’s someone’s grandfather who is also a prominent figure that is gravely ill, please can you help treat this patient?” “No one has been able to treat him but I believe you can,” he quickly added. Without even giving it a thought, Richard declined. “No, I’m sorry,” he said. Richard didn't hesitate to say no because he didn’t quite like Ben, who had dismissed his medical skills earlier based solely on how he looked. He disliked people who judged others only by their appearance. “Sir…” Ben tried to persuade Richard but the latter gave no room for it. “It’s none of my concern, doctor…” Richard calmly said and walked off to the car, “Please send me back,” he told the Janae’s driver and got into the car. “Sir…” Dr Ben scurried to the car but the car zoomed off. He let out a deep, frustrated sigh, realizing that he had just lost the opportunity of Richard helping Sir Morrigan all because of his nasty behavior. “Ms Janae,” he hurried back to her. “Do you have his contact information, please?” “I’m sorry, doc. If Mr Richard has decided not to help you, I can’t go against his wishes by giving you his contact details.” “Okay, okay.” He was disappointed but he also understood that pressuring Richard into treating Sir Morrigan could annoy him further and make things worse. So he decided to inform Delilah first and then maybe think of other ways to convince Richard later. *** “Do you know any restaurants around?” Richard asked the driver as he was beginning to feel a bit hungry. “Yes sir. There's one just a few blocks away.” After a few minutes, they arrived at Chilton, one of the Vester family’s five-star restaurants. “We’re here, sir.” Coincidentally, Lydia and her friends happened to be arriving at this same restaurant. And as they approached the entrance, they noticed the latest Rolls-Royce pulling up to the entrance. “Oh! My! Gosh! Is that…?” “A Rolls-Royce??” Lydia’s friends gasped, their eyes widening with excitement. “It gotta be someone from a prominent family! Could the Wanes be dining here today? They’re one of the only few that can afford that sleek ride,” Layla said. “I’d say it’s either the Guffers or the Dwaynes,” the other friend said. As her friends kept yapping about the luxury car, Lydia’s narrowed eyes were fixed on the car. For some reason, it felt a bit familiar to her. Soon enough, when she saw Richard get out of the car she immediately recognized that it was the same car that had picked him up from her house earlier. “Guys, I know the man getting out of the car,” she turned to her friends and said. “ouuu he hot! Minimalist hot type shit!” Layla exclaimed, almost drooling. Lydia’s face twisted in disgust at her friend’s comment, “Don’t even think about it, he’s the penniless nobody I told y’all about.” “The one trying to gain favor with your family and dreaming of marrying you?” Layla asked. “Yes! Plus that car is rented,” Lydia added and hissed. “I can’t believe he’s here at a 5-star restaurant now.” “Is he planning to steal from the restaurant or what?” Layla asked, making them burst into laughter. “He don’t even look that good. See his shoes, eww. He looks broke as hell. How did I find him attractive? I must be going blind,” she added. As they continued to mock Richard and laugh, Lydia walked up to him and blocked his path. She crossed her arms and eyed him disdainfully, “What are you doing here?!” Richard’s sighed upon seeing her. “What do you want, Lydia?” “Oh please,” she sneered, her voice thick with mockery. “Don’t you know that you need a membership card and advance reservation to dine here?” “And?..” She raised her hand to silence him. “I know you have none of that. You don’t even qualify for either, so leave before you embarrass yourself.”

Chapter 198
“Ehhh!!” She screamed in shock, awe and excitement as her eyes darted to the rest of her family members. “Richard is the Supreme Commander??”Sir Vester was beyond stunned. He had zero idea. The Vester family were now back to their villa. Though, the air between the family was still thick with tension as Collin was yet to clear his name off the accusation of his father. And Sir Vester was not ready to listen to his baseless claims. But the public scrutiny was over, and Collin’s name was now cleared after he made a public apology. The antidotes Richard had provided worked perfectly well and everyone was now in good health. Josh, on the other hand, was now in police custody facing trial. The family members were utterly stunned in their seats as their eyes darted around at each other in the living room. Even though Sir Vester knew of Richard’s great martial arts abilities, he never would have expected that Richard would be filling such a great position. The position was only filled
Chapter 197
***The streets of Kora trembled with anticipation. Crowds had lined both sides of the wide, cleared road by the city gates. Men, women, and children, all gathered to witness the return of their warriors. Will they come back victorious? Or will their bodies and remains be sent back home? They could only wait to find out. Then, a deep rumble echoed through the city. The first army truck rolled into view. A wave of silence passed over the crowd for a split second, as if they held their breath—then an eruption of cheers shook the air. “They did it! They won!” “Whoa! We won!”“The great warriors of Kora have returned!” People clapped and waved the banners of their country high, their voices blending into a triumphant roar. “Oh my god! I can’t believe we actually did it!” Some wept, overwhelmed by relief. If they had lost the battle, Ashton would have taken over the entire Kora. And by now, they’d have probably been getting ready to become slaves in their own land. Others
Chapter 196
Then Richard grabbed the sword from its sharp blade, its sharpness tearing his flesh as blood trickled down the blade. Uh! The Ashton commander and warrior furrowed their brows, taken aback just for a second. But that second was all Richard needed. Before they knew it, Richard pulled the sword out of his flesh and sliced both their throats with just one swift, precise and deadly motion on one foot. The next second, his wounds healed completely as if nothing had happened. Before their blood could even stain the dirt, his wounds had sealed before their very widened eyes. His flesh knitted itself together as if untouched, as if the injury had never happened.Across the battlefield, Delilah stood frozen, her breath caught in her throat. She had happened to see everything play out.She had seen the impossible. Her heart pounded, as her eyes widened. What... did I just witness? She gasped, her grip tightened around her sword as disbelief swirled in her eyes. "This..." she whispered, her
Chapter 195
Another Ashton warrior sneered as he dodged a desperate strike from a Kora fighter. “Pathetic. Do you even know how to wield a sword, or did they just hand you one and hope for the best?” He asked, making the others around him burst into laughter. “They weak as fuck!”“Haha. I expected more, can’t lie.”A Kora soldier gritted his teeth in pain, panting as he barely blocked an incoming strike. “You talk too much,” he spat, forcing himself to his feet. The Ashton warrior smirked, effortlessly pushing him back. “And you fight too little.” Without wasting time, he sent the Kora soldier crashing to the ground, the tip of his blade pressing against his throat. “Run. If you want to live.” But the Kora soldier refused to move. He knew this was the end for him as he had no ounce of strength left in him. He spat “I’d rather die than flee.” “Suit yourself,” the Ashton warrior said, raising his sword— —only to be met with a deadly slash from Richard, who appeared in a flash, his blade

Two weeks later, the warriors of Kora took the sacred journey to The Vale of Blades. Would this be a journey of no return for them? They could only strive to find out.Dawn after dawn, dusk after dusk, they had trained relentlessly alongside the forces of their three powerful allies. Sweat and blood mixed with the earth beneath their feet as they sharpened their skills, their minds and resolve. Every morning had begun with the clash of swords; every night had ended with aching muscles and bruises, yet not once had they faltered. Richard was more than ready for this. His warriors were just as ready to put their lives on the line for their nation. They had toiled under the weight of expectation, under the pressure of the war to come. Now, the time had arrived. Chapter 193
“In the light of that, I have three special guests here to meet you all,” he said with a bright smile. Everyone began to look around for the guests. And just then, the steel door opened and three foreign commanders walked in. They were dressed like commanders but in different uniforms. Everyone turned to look at the three figures who had just entered. Their uniforms were foreign and their faces were unfamiliar. A murmur of confusion rippled through the ranks. Who were they?Had Richard brought in commanders to train them? If so, what was the point? Training was important, but they didn’t have the luxury of time. They thought. There was no drill, no technique, no strategy they could master in the little time left that would make a real difference against Ashton’s overwhelming forces. They turned their confused glances back to Richard, but he remained calm, his expression unreadable. When the commanders reached before Richard, they bowed deeply in reverence. Richard returned
