Chapter 2

Brienne, in addition to the insults, slams the door against Wenton's face. From inside of her apartment, she threatens to call the cops on him and his friends if they don't go away before she comes out. "I never want to see you again!" She shouts.

Wenton's friends who had come with him shrug their shoulders in disbelief. They had always seen how Brienne treated their friend with love and respect, they always say that both of them would make good partners only for them to be disappointed in this way. It's a double disappointment for Wenton and them.

"I can't believe she only loved you for who you were and who she hoped you would become!" Levi says.

"Let's go guys, Wenton I would say don't be sad, rather be glad that she has shown you her true intention so early, that's not the type of woman you should share your future success with." Gabriel cuts in.

"She's not worth dying for, let her go and find someone that has already made it and become a gold-digger. " Anthony came in. All of his friends got something to say in this but despite all these, Wenton still finds himself thinking about Brienne even after getting into his car. For fifteen good minutes, he couldn't start the car but just sat there in the driver's seat supporting his chin with his hand lost in thoughts. The pressure from the rest has no impact on him right now.

"What can I do to make her come back to me right now?" He begins to think of every possible idea, but none comes to mind. His love for her was so deep, it couldn't be comprehended but he had always chosen to keep it silent, but showed it in actions which he did through buying an expensive iPhone, gifts and other things, even giving her lots of money. Aside from the material elements of his love, he always made sure that Brienne never lacked his affectionate companionship, he always had quality time for her, good communication and all those things a guy needs to give to his girlfriend. All these were because he was working and was paid higher than the rest because of his position, now his salary as a normal player which he would be receiving any time soon wouldn't be enough for all of that, Brienne knows this.

Two weeks left and he is going to have his fate decided, whether he is going to end up playing for his dream club or some clubs of good worth even not as high as he dreamt of, or he would end up not having a club to continue his career with. Finally with the help of his friends, he is able to let go of the situation only a slightest bit and drives out of Brienne’s premises promising himself to work on the matter before it gets too late.

Two weeks later, nothing tangible has come to his mind to do and he is left frustrated, not knowing what to do. A week ago, the players from his team that were going to feature in the match in which the foreign scouts would be present were selected and as he thought, his name was not included. It had been like a dream to him until this moment, he knew he was going to leave the club without anything. Sporting Stars FC is just a trial club players who graduate from the real academy play for, for the meantime, it has a limited time depending on the management's decision for that particular year. After they pass out of this club, they get to play for real professional clubs.

There was no miracle for him again, he already knew his fate. Now his best friend, Imikah Donn was selected two days ago by the foreign scouts for Alla Madrid, the club he had dreamt to play for, it was a heavy blow to him. He was happy for his friend but he wasn't truly happy as he wasn't happy for himself. They had always walked together right from when they entered the Academy and even after he was stripped of his captaincy, both hoped to leave the club and go to play for Real Madrid but now he was going to leave him behind.

They had a limited time to part because once everything is done, Imikah would be leaving and he doesn't know when they will get to see each other again, it might be never. He decided to go pay his best friend one last visit before he leaves for Spain. He would ask him not to forget him in life, though fate turned against him, they would still be friends. He isn't sure of how this will go after Imikah leaves but he just got to try his luck, who knows he might return to reward him as a loyal friend one day.

Upon reaching his house, Imikah welcomes him. His family already knows about him, so he didn't really have to introduce him to anyone. They came out to greet him as well as console him on what happened. Imikah had told them about it. After they were done and each returned to their rooms, Wenton and Imikah sat down together to discuss.

"I think I'm going to quit football for life and go into some small business or something else." Wenton tells his friend. Imikah, who never hoped to hear this from him. He opens his mouth wide in shock.

"What's wrong, why are you going to quit after all these years and the dream?"

He smirks. "You are playing ignorant, haven't you seen what has happened to me? How would I get to play in one of the big-time clubs, there is no need of persisting. Your future is certain, mine has already crumbled. There is nothing to hope for again!" He lowers his face to the ground staring at it in frustration.

"You can't just be quick to make decisions, you never can tell what might happen between now and the future."

"No, I know you want to make me feel better, that's why you are saying that. Since you feel I'm not correct in what I'm saying, tell me a way I would get to play for a club like Alla Madrid when I'll be passing out from this club without recommendation or scout selection. "

"You can play for the National team. Featuring in the Nation's League is another way of being noticed by a big club." Imikah suggests with so much confidence which amuses Wenton, he laughs as a result.

"Tell me how I'm going to get in there, it also needs recommendation from your previous coach, everything needs the right connection. You can't just go and play anywhere like that." He stresses out to his friend because it seems he is not getting the whole thing.

"I can help you with this!"

Prior to this, Wenton laughs inside him. How is this possible, who does he even know there? He hasn't heard of him talking about anyone in the Senior National Team before.
