Minutes passed like hours but Henry lay still till the pain finally subsided.
A soft chime echoed in his ears. [Evolution Crystal: +1] He chuckled bitterly. "I knew this wouldn't be easy," he muttered, pushing himself off the damp ground. His muscles ached, but he stood. Just ahead, partially hidden by the trees was a jagged cave mouth. From another path nearby, he noticed lanterns casting a faint golden glow. They lit a narrow corridor that split into two directions, each path disappearing into darkness. He turned to the cave again. Something was etched above the entrance, he narrowed his eyes slightly, the symbols were foreign and he couldn't read it. "A dungeon?" Henry guessed aloud as he adjusted his grip on his slingshot and exhaled slowly. "Alright… Let's see what you've got." He stepped forward, and walked into the cave. [Welcome to Solo Dungeon Hennik] The lanterns flickered to life as he walked. Something about them caught his eye, when drops of slime fell onto the flames, instead of dimming, the fire flared brighter. He soon reached a wooden gate, or rather, two. The double doors stood side by side like guardians. One bore a large, faded C, the other, a bold H. "C and H?" he mumbled. He tapped his chin, thinking. "Cannibals? Hobgoblins?" He shook his head. "Let's try 'C' first." He reached for the handle. *Crreeaak* A gust of icy wind exploded out, stinging his skin like needles. "C...cold?" he gasped, arms wrapped around his torso. "Damn… I guessed wrong." He tried the H door, but it wouldn't budge. [Door C has already been unlocked.] "Of course," he groaned. "My first choice locks the path." No way out now. With chattering teeth, Henry returned to the frozen door and pushed it open again. The cold bit into him instantly, worse than before. Still, he stepped inside. Each breath fogged before him. He slowed his breathing, training it to last twelve seconds at a time. Any faster and he risked passing out. The moment he entered, the door slammed behind him with a loud metallic clang. Henry rubbed his arms furiously, his thin green goblin frame shivering. He tried hopping in place, rotating his shoulders, anything to raise his body temperature. He walked, fast but careful. This was a dungeon, there could be traps. Minutes passed and frost clung to his hair. "Co...." Henry couldn't utter a world and as he was ready to collapse, a faint light appeared ahead. He pressed forward with hopes and finally broke through. He stumbled into the next chamber, gulping air like he'd surfaced from water. "I almost froze" He whispered and cold air erupted from his mouth. The room glowed with hundreds of crystals hung from the ceiling, and it's made his body feels warm once again He stood straighter, his breath steady again. The chamber held four new doors. Each marked with a letter: K G W U Henry eyed them. "Here we go again…" He hesitated, then stepped toward the G door. This corridor was different, eerily quiet. No wind, no heat, just stillness. As he stepped through, the door slammed shut behind him once again. He kept his slingshot ready, fingers twitching over the rubber band and just then footsteps echoed from ahead, heavy, slow, deliberate. He glanced at the walls and the crystals reflected a tall, hulking shadow, that could take away his HP with one hit. "What the hell..." Henry whispered with his heart pounding heavily, seconds which seems like minutes passed by and finally the creature came into view. Henry blinked in disbelief, it's wasn't as he expected through the shadow reflection, its was an ordinary golbin just like him. No armor, no weapon. Just bare skin, thin limbs, wild eyes. It stopped, surprised. It stared at Henry's slingshot, confused. Henry laughed in relief. "Damm.. you scared me! I thought you were a beast." He stepped forward, arms open to give the golbin a hug. The goblin hissed. "Tskkkk!" Its words were guttural, sharp. It sounded angry. "What? Hey, calm down," Henry said. "I'm..." "Tskkk! Kraaa!" The goblin lunged. A notification flashed: [Translation Activated] [Translation of the Language: You speak human tongue. You're a human in disguise!] "Oh great, I can understand you now," Henry groaned, stumbling back. The goblin swung its fists, wild and furious. "I don't want to fight you!" Henry shouted, but the golbin still charged with full force. He pulled back the band of his slingshot, aimed, and released. *Whisssh* The stone made a slightly whistling noise and made it way to the goblins head. "Awl!" The creature let out a loud shriek, staggered, and crumpled to the ground. [You have killed an Ordinary Goblin.] [+10 EXP Earned] For a moment the cave was quiet, then the faint sounds of dozens footsteps could be heard and immediately Henrys face went pale. "They heard the cry of their comrade" he whispered. He didn't wait to check if the golbin had dropped any items, survival came first *Thud* *Thud* *Thud* He turned back toward the crystal-lit room but the door had vanished. "Damm it. No going back" he whispered bitterly, the only way was forward. He scanned the corridor for cover but they was nothing. Then finally he gulped then whispered. Chapter 58 History Book
Henry stared at Juliet, his breath uneven. He was lost in words and didn't know what to say.Juliet’s eyes softened for a moment, then hardened again. “I don’t know why I’m attached to you, Henry,” she said quietly. “I know nothing about you.” She brushed past him, giving him a slight shove as she walked ahead.Henry sighed, rubbing his neck. “Last time I told her where I really came from, she didn’t believe me,” he muttered under his breath. Shaking his head, he followed her down the dusty path toward the merchant’s house.“Juliet!” he called. She didn’t answer. Her pace didn’t even slow. When they reached the merchant’s residence, Juliet entered first. Henry followed, keeping a respectful distance. Hours passed before Wednesday and Vorden finally arrived, looking exhausted but pleased. They gathered in the sitting room, talking about the quest and the strange beasts they’d faced. Henry caught Juliet’s eyes once—but she turned away almost instantly, pretending to focus on her food.D
Chapter 57 You lied
Henry’s feet pounded against the forest floor as he muttered under his breath, " Alright let's play a little.”Behind him, the thunder of hooves shook the ground. The evolved Fang Boar bellowed furiously and charged. Henry darted between trees, glancing around. Then he spotted one, a tall oak with a sturdy branch angled perfectly for climbing.“Got you,” he whispered. He leapt, caught the branch, and hauled himself upward in one clean motion. The boar crashed against the base of the tree, its tusks scraping bark and splintering wood. It glared up at him, snorting hot air through flared nostrils.“Nice chase” Henry muttered, tightening his grip on the branch as the beast rammed the trunk again and again. Each strike sent shivers up the wood. The tree groaned in protest, its roots loosening as soil shifted beneath it. Henry felt the tremors vibrate through his feet.“Alright, buddy, that’s enough,” he muttered, looking down at the fanged brute that refused to quit.He sighed. “I'll sti
Chapter 56 Fanged Boar
“What is it? Why are you smiling?” the receptionist asked, narrowing her eyes slightly, curiosity playing at the corners of her lips. Henry blinked, snapping out of his daze. “Nothing,” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. His eyes accidentally drifted down for the valley at her chest but darted away before she could notice. “Come on, guys! Let’s get this quest started!” Wednesday spoke. They left the guild together but soon split up, each heading toward their respective quest destinations. Henry followed the rough map printed on the back of his quest sheet, his boots crunching softly on the gravel road. “I’m only supposed to kill two Fang Boars and bring their crystals back,” he murmured to himself, holding the quest paper against the wind. “Even if I take down twenty, no one would know. The extra crystals would all be mine.” He grinned a little at the thought. But as he walked through the busy street leading to the capital gate, his attention was caught by a famili
Chapter 55 First Guild Quest
Juliet’s soft voice broke the momentary silence. “What’s wrong?” she asked from behind, noticing the woman’s fixed gaze on Henry. “I don’t know,” the woman replied, her brows furrowed. “Something feels… different about his face.” Juliet chuckled, stepping closer with a teasing smile. “Yeah, he’s handsome, right? Most people even mistake him for a girl.” “Maybe.” The woman shrugged, brushing it off before walking away. Henry, however, knew she wasn’t just admiring him, she had sensed something unusual. She was a high-level adventurer, skilled and perceptive. If she had truly seen through him, he might’ve been in trouble. There were too many adventurers here for him to escape unnoticed if something went wrong. 'Almost got caught' Henry thought with a sigh of relief. Minutes later, the receptionist returned, holding several small cards. “Congratulations,” she said with a polite smile as she handed them out. “You’re now official F-Rank adventurers. Welcome to the guild.” He

“We’d like to register as adventurers,” Vorden said confidently to the receptionist behind the counter. The woman looked up from her desk and smiled politely. “Wait a moment.” She pulled open a drawer, retrieved a small stack of forms, and spread them neatly before the group.“Please fill these out first,” she said.Henry stared at the paper in front of him, feeling lost. The only things he could confidently fill in were his name and age. Vorden, however, was already writing swiftly, so Henry subtly peeked at his sheet for clues and managed to complete his own form with some effort.Once they were done, the receptionist began explaining the rules and responsibilities of adventurers, how guild ranks worked, the importance of missions, and the conduct expected from every registered member. She had clearly done this many times before, her tone professional yet patient. Henry listened with extra attention; everything about this world was new to him, and he didn’t want to miss a detail.Wh
Chapter 53 Guild Receptionist
Panic rippled through the group as they rushed toward Henry, their faces tight with fear and confusion. “Don’t worry, guys. I’ll be alright,” Henry muttered, forcing a calm smile even as his mind spun. His body slowly began to heal from within. “Maids!” the merchant barked, his voice sharp at first, then quickly softening into reassurance. “Don’t panic, Henry. It’s just a cut. You’ll be fine. The healer lives only a stone’s throw away.” Vorden dropped beside Henry, guilt written all over him. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he said, voice trembling. Henry didn’t answer. He sat there quietly, clutching his arm. Within, the injury was healing and now it's because visible to the eyes. “Wait... look at that,” the merchant’s wife whispered, eyes wide in disbelief. “Are you a mage?” Wednesday asked, her gaze locked on Henry’s arm as the last traces of injury disappeared. “Thank the goddess,” Vorden exhaled, relief washing over him. “It’s healing... he’s really healin
