Chapter 3: What Is Happening?

Pandemonium, a disaster, that's what could only be described as Jeffrey and Jennifer saw the images on the television. Screams, gunshots, roars, groans and pleas for help could be heard from the television, in fact the sounds became so loud, so clear and so near that Jeffrey and Jennifer had to run to the window and then they saw scenes that should only be seen in movies or in fact dreams. Monsters and zombies attacking humans, the chaos was to the point where Jeffrey and Jennifer could be seen rooted on the spot, their thoughts and expressions frozen for a few minutes but the same question kept repeating in their minds.

WHAT IS HAPPENING!!

Jeffrey could not help but remember how they were eating and he got a call from his Father to which he was shocked as his father was always busy in the military, as he was pondering on the reason for the call he could hear an anxious voice after picking the call telling him to watch the news which resulted in their present reactions. He looked at his phone and saw that the call was disconnected, he also turned to the TV and saw it to be disconnected, one just had to look outside to know the reason.

He heard the sound of a slap and saw Jennifer with a hand on her face, possibly trying to know if it's a dream as he'll also be hoping for it to be a dream.

" What is happening, like is this a dual dream or a movie shoot or something cause if it is, it's not a good one at all" Jeffrey turns towards Jennifer hearing her panicked voice, he turns to look outside the window but still sees the chaos, which confirms that all of this was not a dream.

" It's not a dream, I don't know what's going on but we need to get the guns from my room and maybe knives. We need to protect ourselves" Jeffrey talks in a calm voice as he knows if he panics, they may lose their lives, a military lesson learnt from his Father. He observes the situation outside and notices that monsters kept on coming out from a cracked line which keeps on expanding the more monsters pour out, he doesn't know what that is but he doesn't care for now, Jennifer and his life comes first.

He runs to his room while hoping their family and friends are safe. Jennifer looks at Jeffrey running to their room and calms down while looking around for anything that can be used as a weapon, she sees Jeffrey's headphones on the couch and decides to take it as she knows he almost never goes anywhere without it, she goes to the kitchen, picks all the knives and some ropes as she knows it can be helpful and puts them in a bag.

"Jeffrey?!" Jennifer hears Jeffrey scream and runs towards their room while holding a knife in one hand.

FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!

"Jeffrey!!!" She slams the door to the room open and sees something she'd never expect. Jeffrey holding the dance pole in the room with all his might, his body parallel to the ground while floating above the floor. She sees a crack in the air pulling Jeffrey towards it.

" Babe leave!!. Hurry!!" Jeffrey's panicked voice resounded throughout the room which awakened her from her shock. She runs towards the staircase outside the room and ties one end of the rope to one of the short metal pillars and goes back to the room towards Jeffrey and throws the other end of the rope towards Jeffrey. " Catch the rope and tie it to the pole and use the rope to come here. Whatever is pulling you is not reaching here. Fast!!"

Jeffrey sees the rope floating beside him been pulled towards the crack in the air and quickly uses one hand to hold and pull the rope towards himself before struggling to tie it to the rope with one hand on the pole.

" Quick Jeffrey, the crack is expanding!" He hears Jennifer panicked voice and doesn't even look back and places one hand on the stretched rope followed by his other. "Ahhh, motherfucker!!!" Jeffrey's pained groans could be heard throughout the room since moving along the rope were straining his arms heavily.

Jennifer hears snapping sounds and looks at the rope connected to the stairs and sees the rope snapping in an extremely fast rate, she moves to it and holds it with one hand while holding the stairs with her other hand.

" Ahhh, Jeffrey I can't hold on for long. The pulling force is getting stronger. HURRY!!"

" I'm almost there!!" Jeffrey struggles to reach Jennifer and as he's almost halfway towards the her he hears a sound which makes him pale.

CRACKK!!!

PAAA!!!

"Ahhhhh, Jeffreyyyy!!!!" Jennifer screamed as the pillar supporting the stairs broke and she got pulled towards the crack along with Jeffrey. They both tried to hold the pole but a greater pulling force was exerted upon them and the pole got pulled apart from the ceiling with Jennifer and Jeffrey towards it also.

As they were moving towards the crack, the gem on Jeffrey neck glowed and pulled Jennifer and the pole towards it with some other objects in the room before it entered his mouth knocking him out.

The crack closed after Jeffrey was pulled in and peace returned to the room.

A few minutes later, footsteps echoed in the silent room and a robed woman wearing a mask which covered her entire face appeared in the room.

" I didn't expect that fate will send him to the primordial forest. That place is sealed and only the Unidan race knows the location but even I cannot break the seal… Hahh… Fate doesn't take any chances with those who have the fate broken physique, if he doesn't die then he'll be sealed forever in that place" Zhena spoke as she walked into the room looking at the place where the crack was.

" And I gave him a soul gem again, hope it won't go to waste. I'm going to need to get another one. I guess I should at least help their family and friends in case they survive till the end. If they do, then at least we'll be allies against fate." Zhena muttered before leaving the room.
