In the restroom, Jasmine Thompson wasn't there to use the toilet; instead, she splashed cold water on her face, trying to calm herself down.

She looked into the mirror and focused, saying to herself, "Jasmine Thompson, don't give up." She had come to this restroom to collect her thoughts.

She needed to boost her confidence. At that moment, she understood clearly that the other party was here to humiliate her, to mock her. It made her incredibly angry, but she couldn't afford to show it.

Her collaboration with them was crucial. It was really important. Not only did she need to suppress her anger, but she also had to speak kindly.

So, she came to the restroom to cool off with cold water. Once she felt composed, she would put on a bright smile and approach John, even to the point of begging him.

She was ready to humble herself, to plead with him. She was even willing to make significant concessions. Jasmine Thompson felt she had no other options.

Besides offering concessions, she couldn't think of any other way to break through. After gathering her smile in the restroom, Jasmine stepped out, only to find that John Walker was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, the place was in disarray, and there was Ethan Blackwood. "He's gone?" Jasmine Thompson's face turned pale.

"Yeah," Ethan Blackwood nodded. At that moment, Jasmine nearly lost her balance. She had thought that once they stepped outside, there would still be a glimmer of hope, but he hadn't given them even that.

He just walked away. Ethan quickly steadied Jasmine. "It's okay, tomorrow will be better."

"Oh, tomorrow," Jasmine scoffed bitterly. What she didn't have today, would it really just appear tomorrow? She wasn't a child anymore; she didn't believe in such things.

But as she felt Ethan's arm supporting her and looked at the mess on the ground, she started to piece things together. John Walker was leaving, but Ethan wasn't going to let him.

Then, the two of them had a fight. But Ethan, being a self-taught fighter, stood no chance against someone as skilled as John. It was impossible!

So, in the end, John Walker walked away, leaving Ethan all alone.

"Thanks," Jasmine said, tilting her head slightly. No matter what, Ethan Blackwood had come through for her in the end.

He might have even taken a beating for it, but she had no way of knowing that, and he certainly didn't want to show it.

After all, what man would want a woman to see him in such a weak state? "We're family, no need to say thanks," Ethan replied.

"Family?" Jasmine echoed, the word sending ripples through her mind once again. Could she really consider Ethan as family? It seemed possible, maybe even likely.

But right now, she didn't have the heart to ponder such things. Soon, Jasmine went to settle the bill, wanting to cover the damages at the shop, only to be surprised when the owner informed her that John Walker had already taken care of it.

What she didn't know was that Ethan had literally put his foot on John's face to make him pay. Otherwise, would he have paid?

Ha!

What a joke.

After stepping outside, Jasmine looked up at the sky and suddenly said, "Let's go visit the orphanage."

"An orphanage?"

"Yeah, I'm feeling down and just want to clear my head."

"Alright."

The orphanage wasn't far from where they were, and Soon they arrived. After getting out of the car, Jasmine quietly moved closer to Ethan Blackwood, a smile spreading across her face, replacing her earlier frown.

Because!

"Sister, sister!"

"You've come, sister!"

"Sister, you look even prettier than last time..." A group of three to six-year-old kids spotted Jasmine and rushed over, their big, joyful eyes sparkling as they surrounded her, bouncing with excitement.

They really loved Jasmine!

"Little Tom, you seem taller!"

"Jade your little tiger teeth are still so cute..."

"Eli, you can't be naughty this time! Last time during hide-and-seek, you fell asleep while hiding, and we couldn't find you at all..."Jasmine pulled out some candies she had bought on the way.

Her eyes sparkled like crescent moons as she smiled. Whenever she felt down, she loved coming to the orphanage to see these lively and adorable kids.

Just being around them lifted her spirits immensely. In this world, there are still many lovely things. "Jasmine, Ethan." At that moment, a kind-looking woman in her fifties stepped out of the orphanage.

The corners of her eyes had crow's feet, but her smile was warm as she greeted Ethan Blackwood and Jasmine Thompson.

Hannah!

She was a caregiver at the orphanage and had always been incredibly kind. When Ethan was a child, she had taken care of him, and he was deeply grateful to her.

When she was diagnosed with liver cancer and needed money for surgery, he didn't hesitate to seek help from the Thompson family.

At that time, the Thompson's were looking for a son-in-law, so he offered himself to them. For three years, he endured their harsh treatment without ever fighting back.

"Hannah..." Jasmine Thompson spotted her and smiled, gently brushing her hair back as she placed her hand on Ethan's wrist, adopting a sweet, feminine posture.

In moments like this, she was Ethan wife. His true wife..But it was only in moments like this. "Jasmine, you and them take your time playing. The board at the orphanage has collapsed, so Ethan and l are going to fix it," Hannah said.

"Okay." Jasmine Thompson nodded and then released Ethan Blackwood. Ethan followed along, He had lived in this orphanage for over ten years and was very familiar with it.

As soon as Hannah mentioned a broken part, he knew exactly what she meant. However, while he was busy fixing things, Hannah suddenly turned to him and said, “Ethan."

Ethan Blackwood looked at Hannah. “Actually, you two aren't really together, are you?" Hannah asked.

Ethan fell silent!

A hint of sadness flashed in Hannah's eyes. "l could tell from the beginning that you two just aren't close enough. Hannah has been through it all and knows what a real marriage looks like. But Jasmine is truly a good girl. You have no idea every month you send back a thousand bucks, and Jasmine sends back the same amount.

Whatever you send, she matches it. In fact, a lot of the renovations at the orphanage, the supplies, and the winter clothes are often funded by Jasmine."

"So, treat her well," Hannah said earnestly. At that moment, Ethan Blackwood lifted his head, his dark eyes locking onto Hannah.

"Hannah, I will. And we will truly be together. I will treat her a thousand times, no, a million times better."

"You... you can talk now?" Hannah was taken aback. "Yes, Hannah. I'm not the same Ethan Blackwood I used to be. All the shortcomings from before, I will make up for them a thousand times over for Jasmine. We will truly be together," Ethan promised solemnly. He swore with conviction, his words carrying the weight of a vow!

What! The Moore family members were taken aback. "How dare he, Briggs!" Liam slammed his hand on the table in frustration. Uncle Adrian, also known as Adrian Jackson, who was still nursing his serious injuries nearby, looked equally confused. Why was his disciple here? Just then, a furious voice rang out from the doorway: "Liam Moore, you old fool! I heard my master was seriously injured, and yet you had the audacity to invite that injured person into the Moore family and even host a banquet for him!" With each word filled with anger, a group of men dressed in white martial arts uniforms entered, led by a middle-aged man brimming with vitality. His fists looked incredibly powerful, capable of easly taking down a professional security guard with just a few strikes. Surrounding him were a dozen or so men, clearly his disciples, who followed him in. Bang! After kicking a security guard aside, Briggs Holland turned to Liam and said, "Liam Moore." "What do you mean, Ho

"I have feelings for you, but even though we've been living together for four years, it's really just the beginning, isn't it? I want to give you a chance. I think, over time, I will truly come to like you, but not right now." "This angel heart necklace... I think I should keep it for now. I don't want you giving it to another woman. If one day I really do fall for you, then l'll wear this necklace and show up in front of you. How does that sound Jasmine peeked out, her eyes sparkling with a hint of hope as she asked. "Sounds good," Ethan nodded, though a pang of pain shot through his heart. He understood the reason behind her hesitation. Jasmine had lost her father in a car accident during college, making her the eldest in her family. She had always acted maturely. She had focused on her business studies and had never been close to any other boys. Perhaps he was the first. Because of that, she was inexperienced in this area, and at that moment, the powerful CEO felt like a li

"Actually, there's no need to go through all this trouble." Ethan stepped forward. "What's wrong, our dear son-in-law?" one of the women, Phoebe, asked warmly. Ethan was quite the catch himself. However, his words left everyone frozen in place. "In fact, the Moore family hasn't helped us as much as you think. The reason they partnered with Elite Group today is that their patriarch is seriously ill. I happened to come across an ancient remedy that eased his condition, so the Moore family owes me a favor." "When they asked what I wanted, I simply said I wanted a sky full of roses and a necklace. Beyond that, I didn't ask for anything else. Now, that favor has been repaid, and the Moore family is unlikely to assist us again. In fact, Morgan Moore probably won't even talk to me anymore, considering I'm just a nobody. " Ethan shrugged, "So, the partnership between Elite Group and the Moore family ends here. If you want to collaborate on development, you won't achieve much." "No,

At the back of the room stood an elderly man, around seventy years old, with a somewhat stern expression. This was Henry Thompson, the head of the Thompson family, also known as Wyatt. He stepped forward, intending to greet Jasmine Thompson, but she remained motionless, which made him want to explode with anger. "Niece, call me Grandpa," Piper Thompson, her uncle, urged. "Grandpa? Haven't I been disowned from the family? What right do I have to call you Grandpa? Don't you think?" Jasmine replied coldly. Yes, she had been disowned. Her entire family had been struck from the family tree. Call him Grandpa? Ha! "Uh... what happened back then was a misunderstanding. We were reckless, we were reckless.." Piper quickly interjected. At the same time, he shot a glance at Wyatt. Wyatt frowned, clearly reluctant, but still said, "Yes, a misunderstanding." "Niece, please let us in. It's not right to wait out here at the door, is it?" Piper continued. That makes sense!
