"Apologies? Do you think that makes up for all the damage your filth has already done?"

The thugs trembled to their core. With just a snap of her fingers, Eva could erase them all. Regret choked their throats, bitter and heavy.

Ethan, meanwhile, stood frozen. Multiple questions running through his mind left unanswered.

This man, he was the owner of the major lending company in the city. Feared and powerful not only because of his wealth but also because of his affiliation to the military too.

And even though he didn't know about the hidden business run by Liege and his gang under his company's name, their brutality also made his name a whisper of nightmare on the lips of most people in the city.

And yet somehow, this powerful man was shivering under the weight of the unseeming young lady.

Everything was just beyond his comparison. And the young lady calling him Young Master a while ago just went further in rendering him totally confused.

"I’ll do anything. I’ll owe you forever!" Liege cried again, desperation dripping from every word.

Eva’s eyes cut to him and his men. They froze, their hearts pounding hard against their chest.

"Forgive us!" they begged, voices breaking in unison, hands trembling like they were standing right before death itself.

Eva’s voice thundered: "Do I look like the one you’ve offended?"

The thugs spun around instantly, turning to Ethan. "Please forgive us!" they stammered, trembling like leaves in the wind.

Liege slapped himself hard, again and again, until his cheeks burned red and his floor head bled Dropping to the floor, he pressed his head into the dirt.

"I swear, it will never happen again! I’ll never oppress anyone again! I’d never have touched you if I’d known you were connected to Miss Eva!"

The words tore through Ethan's chest like a hot rod. If it wasn't for this Lady status, no one would have heard of this. He would have been maltreated and Leige would have gone scout free like the numerous people he had bullied in the city.

Ethan’s fists clenched tight.

Eva turned to him, her tone soft now, her words dipped with respect. "Young master, what do you suggest we do to them?"

Ethan blinked, stunned by the sudden switch in her tone. From barking orders like an employer to a lazy employer to one that was coated deep with reverence.

Still, he swallowed and answered firmly. "They should be punished for what they’ve done."

Liege’s body shook violently. He knew the truth. His boss’s shield was the only thing keeping him out of prison. Without it, he was already a dead man. Too many enemies were waiting for him inside those walls.

"Please… show mercy," he begged, his voice cracking.

Ethan’s eyes hardened. "Maybe if you’d shown mercy earlier, you wouldn’t be here now."

Eva’s gaze slid to the gray-haired man, her face dark as thunder. "What are you waiting for? Get them out of my sight." The man feared by almost everyone in the city, groveled like an injured hyena.

The man bowed deeply, signaling his guards. They seized Liege and his men, bundling them into the waiting truck. Their cries faded as they zoomed away from the arena leaving Eva alone to Ethan.

The place is still silent. Ethan swallowed.

Eva turned back to Ethan. For a moment, she hesitated then bowed deeply before him.

Ethan blinked, still unable to believe what was happening. "Thanks for your help. But I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else. I’m no young master."

Eva lifted her head slightly, her voice calm, reverent.

"You just became one. Young Master!" She emphasized, the bouncer joining in a bow.

With his eyes wide, and his breath shaky, Paul continued to pant, his grip on the gun getting very slippery. “Who are you?” He muttered, eyes still on Ethan who was still standing right before him, unflustered, and unhurt. Apparently, the bullet missed him by an inch, piercing into the wall behind him. Ethan scoffed, looking him in the eyes. “My name is Ethan, Paul. That’s all you need to know.” He effortlessly grabbed the gun from Paul who was too terrified to drag its possession with him. “I will hold onto this while you unlock the door.” Ethan cleared his throat, turning to face the door to the room where Sabrina said her daughters had been kept. Paul swallowed hard. “I can’t let you take them, Ethan. They are my children.”Ethan growled, his patience speedily drifting away. “You don’t want to know what I can do to you, Paul. Don’t make me say this again. Unlock the door right now or I will be aiming for your head! I won’t miss just like you did!”“Okay! Okay!” Paul succumb

Ethan needed no one to tell him that something was wrong. He took a deep breath, scouring the entire living room. There was no sound, not even the slightest of it.Just silence, and the thoughts that echoed inside his head. There were feelings of caution, but reminded of the reason why he had returned to the mansion, Ethan had to move toward the staircase, seeing the blood all over the floor. He climbed the staircase, and he could still see the blood, prompting him to follow it until he arrived at the doorstep of one of the rooms upstairs. He stood still, leaned closer to the door with his ear, and listened. He couldn’t hear anything, but the blood on the floor indicated that someone could be inside the room. His eyes went down to the handle of the door, and just when he was about to grab it, he noticed the bloodstain on it as well. This made him retrace his steps, and he took a deep breath while staring at the bloody door handle. The chances of Paul being inside the room were

“What?!” Emma gasped, turning to Ethan with wide eyes. “He has your children?” She slowly returned her gaze to her aunt and said nothing else. Sabrina nodded, tears welled up in her eyes. “You have to help me get my daughters, Emma! I beg you!” She pleaded, more tears falling from her eyes. Ethan stepped closer to Sabrina, looking at her with so much pity in his eyes. “I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that, Sabrina. Your husband is a monster, and he will die for his crimes.”“He is not my husband!” Sabrina bellowed, panting heavily.Ethan turned to Emma, and after they had stared at each other for a few seconds, they returned their gaze to the whimpering lady. CHAPTER NINETY-TWO Paul looked back at Emma, and convinced that she was not going to be able to shoot the gun, he returned his gaze to Ethan, attempting the fourth strike.“You bastard!” He hoped that the punch was going to land on Ethan’s face, but realizing that he was too good at blocking all his punches, he decided to go for his belly.Sinking his balled fist into Ethan’s belly, he caused the Young CEO to grunt, prompting Emma to gasp. “Oh my God!” Emma was distraught for her husband, and it seemed as though the gun was useless in her hands after all. CHAPTER NINETY-ONE Emma groaned, staggering back to her feet. “I am alright.” She managed to break her silence, leaning on the wall to maintain her balance. Then she took a deep breath, turning to Sabrina. “Aunt Sabrina?” She called out, but there was no response. Unable to fight off the feeling that intensely surged into her, she quickly ran to the lady, went down on her knees beside her, and tried to get her to stand. “Aunt Sabrina?!” She called out again, but there was still no response. “Can you hear me?!” She pushed, her breath unsteady. “Get up, Aunt Sabrina! Wake up!” Tears slowly trickled down her face, and when she lowered her ear to Sabrina’s chest, she sighed heavily. “We need to take her to the hospital, Ethan!” She turned to her husband, breathing frantically. Paul shook his head in refusal. “No one is taking her to the hospital! She is not leaving my house! She is my wife!” Ethan growled at him, reminding him that he was with a gun. “That’s not your decisi
