CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

Seeing this, the guard standing next to Ethan dived to the ground, placing his hand below the computer before it could hit the ground.

He wasn’t so fast enough.

Parts of the laptop hit the hard floor, causing some major damage to it at once.

Seeing this, Roy made a run to escape, but he had barely made it to the door when two guards double-crossed him, grabbed him, and pinned him to the ground.

No matter how hard he tried to fight them, screaming, “Let me go!” They refused to free him, holding him down while he grunted and struggled futilely.

Ethan’s fury rose as he looked down at the laptop.

The guard picked it up and brought it to him.

He fumed, turning to Roy who was still pinned to the ground, panting frantically.

“This confirms what I said earlier,” Ethan said, turning to Eva who quickly looked away.

He hoped that nothing had happened to the laptop, but he was very disappointed when he looked at the screen and found out that part of it had been blinded,

“Don’t you ever call her that in your life!” He warned, taking two steps closer to Ethan.“Don’t you ever do that again!” Ethan scoffed, looking at him with a wry smile.“It’s funny that even with everything that has happened, you still dare to point your filthy finger at me, claiming that Sabrina is still your wife.”“But she is!”“She is not!” Ethan roared, and without warning, he grabbed Paul by the neck, pushing him to the bed.He pinned him down, and all Paul could do was struggle, groan, and attempt to kick him.“Let me go, you idiot!” Paul spat, but Ethan refused to set him free.“As long as I am alive, those children and their mother will be far away from you. You will never see them again.”“That’s never going to happen! Except I am dead!” Paul gathered his breath, boiling in a rage. “You will have to kill me before I let that happen.” He added, causing Ethan to snigger. “Gladly.” Ethan let go of him, and then he picked up the gun from the floor. “I am going to make this

With his eyes wide, and his breath shaky, Paul continued to pant, his grip on the gun getting very slippery. “Who are you?” He muttered, eyes still on Ethan who was still standing right before him, unflustered, and unhurt. Apparently, the bullet missed him by an inch, piercing into the wall behind him. Ethan scoffed, looking him in the eyes. “My name is Ethan, Paul. That’s all you need to know.” He effortlessly grabbed the gun from Paul who was too terrified to drag its possession with him. “I will hold onto this while you unlock the door.” Ethan cleared his throat, turning to face the door to the room where Sabrina said her daughters had been kept. Paul swallowed hard. “I can’t let you take them, Ethan. They are my children.”Ethan growled, his patience speedily drifting away. “You don’t want to know what I can do to you, Paul. Don’t make me say this again. Unlock the door right now or I will be aiming for your head! I won’t miss just like you did!”“Okay! Okay!” Paul succumb

Ethan needed no one to tell him that something was wrong. He took a deep breath, scouring the entire living room. There was no sound, not even the slightest of it.Just silence, and the thoughts that echoed inside his head. There were feelings of caution, but reminded of the reason why he had returned to the mansion, Ethan had to move toward the staircase, seeing the blood all over the floor. He climbed the staircase, and he could still see the blood, prompting him to follow it until he arrived at the doorstep of one of the rooms upstairs. He stood still, leaned closer to the door with his ear, and listened. He couldn’t hear anything, but the blood on the floor indicated that someone could be inside the room. His eyes went down to the handle of the door, and just when he was about to grab it, he noticed the bloodstain on it as well. This made him retrace his steps, and he took a deep breath while staring at the bloody door handle. The chances of Paul being inside the room were

“What?!” Emma gasped, turning to Ethan with wide eyes. “He has your children?” She slowly returned her gaze to her aunt and said nothing else. Sabrina nodded, tears welled up in her eyes. “You have to help me get my daughters, Emma! I beg you!” She pleaded, more tears falling from her eyes. Ethan stepped closer to Sabrina, looking at her with so much pity in his eyes. “I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that, Sabrina. Your husband is a monster, and he will die for his crimes.”“He is not my husband!” Sabrina bellowed, panting heavily.Ethan turned to Emma, and after they had stared at each other for a few seconds, they returned their gaze to the whimpering lady. Sabrina sniffled, attempting to push herself up.She strained, groaning in pain. “He is my ex-husband, Emma. I left him when I discovered that he was cheating on me with his secretary at work, but he kept on coming back to our house and demanding I let him have our daughters.” She paused for a while, but it

Eventually, Ethan was able to arrive at the hospital in less than twenty minutes. The hospital was not what they expected, but given the sobriety of the situation, they had no time to be picky. The nurses rushed out with a stretcher and wheeled Sabrina into the building while the young couple followed behind slowly. Emma wanted to go into the ward with her aunt, but she was asked to wait at the reception by the Doctor who was meant to take charge of his aunt’s situation. That put Emma in a more intense situation, and she began to pace from one corner to the other, fear plastered all over her face.Ethan sat quietly on one of the empty seats, ignoring the eyes of the people seated next to him. They could tell by the outfit he and his wife were putting on that they were not from around there, but they could only stare without saying a word. CHAPTER NINETY-TWO Paul looked back at Emma, and convinced that she was not going to be able to shoot the gun, he returned his gaze to Ethan, attempting the fourth strike.“You bastard!” He hoped that the punch was going to land on Ethan’s face, but realizing that he was too good at blocking all his punches, he decided to go for his belly.Sinking his balled fist into Ethan’s belly, he caused the Young CEO to grunt, prompting Emma to gasp. “Oh my God!” Emma was distraught for her husband, and it seemed as though the gun was useless in her hands after all. However, amidst the ongoing chaos, she had failed to see that Ethan was completely calm and was looking for the perfect chance to act.But Paul was too heavy, and from the way he pinned him to the ground, it seemed like a mission impossible. Ethan turned to his wife, grabbing Paul’s hands and holding onto them tightly.“Shoot him, Emma! Go for his leg!” He instructed with a strained voice, but Emma had never been that confused in
