It was boldly written at the top.

He splashed the file at the lawyer’s face, pulled out his phone and placed a call. Surprisingly she picked.

“Ivy, what the hell is this? Why is your lawyer giving me divorce papers? Divorce papers? You think divorce papers will have you escaping from your sin of years?”

It was his first time shouting on Ivy. He was fed up and couldn't bottle up his anger anymore.

“Do you know I can crush you for this?” He snarled.

But then, a loud laughter erupted from the other end sending Kevin's eyes darting.

He couldnt understand what was funny.

“Mind you, I’m now the CAS, a millionaire….. And you want to sue me? You want to end up in prison?”

“Hmph!” He smirked at her naivety. She was obviously still a baby in baby money. She had no idea what true what entailed.

Only eight days were left until their sixth wedding anniversary, yet this was happening right in front of him.

He had already started planning surprises to make her happy, and was planning to reveal his actual identity to her!

“What did I miss? Tell me. Why do you want a divorce?” he asked, wanting to confirm to the final point this wasn't some kind of prank as he'd be taking action. He didn't want a situation he'd later come to realize it was all a joke.

There was a brief silence, heavy with tension, stretching the moment out and making Kevin even more uneasy.

“I don’t think you’re suitable to be my husband. I have to protect my image. A poor husband brings down my status as CAS. That should explain everything.”

Kevin slowly lowered his head, running his fingers through his hair in frustration and confusion.

“Ohhh!”

“So you’re telling me it’s not because you found someone better than me that you want this divorce?” he asked, still struggling to believe her explanation.

“Of course not! If I were to choose someone else, it wouldn’t be on your level. It would be someone like me, great, or even richer than me. You embarrass me.”

Kevin froze.

Ivy then got pissed, feeling like Kevin was wasting her time. In her head, she expected him to simply get angry, sign the papers, and walk away.

“Enough of these questions!” she barked. “I’m coming there myself so you can sign it. After this, I want nothing more to do with you.” She cut the call.

Fifteen minutes later, she drove to the estate. She stormed to Kevin who stood still, sending dagger stares. Cold shivers crossed her spine seeing Kevin so deadly but she forced out the bold move.

“What do you want from me? Why can’t you just accept that I don’t want you anymore and sign the papers? I don’t have time to waste here with you,” she said sharply.

The kids, hearing her voice, came rushing down. “Mommy! Mommy!! Welcome!!!” They squirled in delight and both came rushing towards her, not even sparing Kevin a glance. They must have known something.

He stamped his foot angrily, terrifying them. “This is the height of it all. So you turned these kids suddenly against me? You told them…..”

Ivy slid in. “You'd come in to substitute for their real dad till he comes back. Now he's back, they gat nothing to do with you.”

Then she urged Roman and Eva. “Go inside loves, your real dad is back in the country. Will be home soon.” They giggled, running back in.

It was hard for Kevin to believe that the kids he'd been cooking, dressing and sacrificing for these past years could forget about him so soon….all because Ivy said so!! He took his attention off them.

They were just kids anyway! Ivy was the problem.

He then grabbed Ivy by the collar. “Come on, tell what you told those kids. They couldn't just hate me so soon.”

“Now fighting for someone else's kids?”

His hands fell off. Kevin stepped back slowly. “You are right! I shouldn't be fighting for kids that aren't mine,” he spat and grabbed ivy again, this time with furious force. “But I raised these kids, cooked with them, clothed them!! Your audacity sure is very loud Ivy!” he spat.

Ivy looked up at him, her eyes terrified of his outburst.

He then threw her off his arm, causing her to stagger to the wall.

At that moment, everything became clear to him, she truly didn’t want him anymore. “I never thought in my life I'd meet a woman so shameless as you.” He hissed, breathing heavily, then picked up his pitch. “I wonder what will happen to your statue as Chief Auditor of the State should this be exposed.”

“By who?” Ivy lashed out at him in courage. “You want to kick me out?” Her voice trembled.

Kevin smirked, shaking his head in regret. The urge to revenge climbed up his chest but he wouldn't just want her sacked. He wanted a slow, painful revenge. Like the pain she had put him for years.

“I’m even giving you an advantage,” Ivy said, trying to maintain her aura. “Sign these papers now, and you’ll get ten million dollars to take care of yourself. Good enough to correct the hurt you might feel.” She was very certain it would be enough to keep him quiet as a poor truck driver.

She slid a credit card on his palm so confidently.

“Sign it, take the card, and stay out of my life and my children's life. I never want to see you again,” she repeated firmly. “That's for your years of serving us. I never want to hear our names on your lips. Ever again!”

Kevin shot her a disgusted look. He never thought a day when he'd feel disgusted by a woman would arrive.

He flung the card back at her. Her face twisted. Grabbing the file, he scribbled his signature and threw it at her face.

“Even if I was the poorest in the world, I wouldn't want the money of a despicable whore. And in my quest for a woman, I would want one with value.”

The flabbergasted Ivy raised her hand to slap him but he grabbed her, twisting her hand with great force to the back, leaving her shouting for help.

The guards who'd been watching the ongoings in shock wanted to step forward to attack him but he balled his fist.

They slowly backed off in fright!

“Come near and see death!!” his eyes was crimson eyes

Ivy felt like a prey at this sight. She had never expected this outcome! She thought he'd beg at her feet while she ended their marriage, but the opposite was playing out at her face.

With one last look of disdain at her, Kevin sneered, and stormed off without looking back.

Ivy swallowed the words she had planned to say and responded with a restrained greeting, her tone stiff, especially after noticing Camilla beside him. She had assumed Camilla was only with him for that occasion. If someone had told her that this was her ex-husband’s new love interest, she would never have believed it. Yet here it was, real and undeniable. Even though their marriage had ended, Ivy still felt an odd discomfort seeing Kevin with another woman. A faint sting of jealousy crept in. She slightly missed the heavy care he showed her and their kids. Alan had no such time. “Kevin, is she someone you know?” Camilla asked, her gaze sweeping over Ivy from head to toe as if assessing her. There was a subtle edge to her tone, as though she already knew Ivy but was just mocking.Ivy’s eyes widened slightly, she was surprised that Camilla, someone who already knew her, even met her in a gala before, was now acting as if she didn’t recognize her. Still, Ivy sensed it was intentional.

“Gossshhhh!” Kevin couldn't control the glimmer in his eyes. He never expected Camilla to say something like that. When he took a closer look at her, he noticed she had a different kind of beauty compared to Ivy. She was slimmer in figure, with fuller boobs and hips, long straight hair, and a face that looked incredibly smooth. Her skin had a radiant, well-cared-for glow, as though she had undergone some luxurious treatment. She carried a captivating charm that could easily draw men in.“Why are you so surprised?” Camilla laughed loudly, her breast rising with each breath as she watched Kevin’s expression. Her presence carried a distracting, alluring scent that briefly clouded his focus. Kevin struggled to look away from her striking figure, finding it increasingly difficult not to stare. The longer he looked, the more unsettling his reaction became, he felt strangely drawn in.“Let's not rush into that.” Kevin said being a man of principle. He didn't want to be seen as just coming

  • CHAPTER 8

By the time Kevin arrived at the governors ward, he was already done and preparing to go with his daughter. Camilla came to meet him. “What took you so long?” “Yeahhh!” Gov. Aldric loomed with his deep voice. “She told me you were coming with her.” “I'm so sorry, the person I met, my brother kept me for long.” “He's here?” Aldric asked. “I'd love to meet…..” “No dad,” Camilla cut in. “He's a bad guy. Hates my man so much.” Both Aldric and Kevin narrowed their eyes in shock at the address. Camilla blushed, going over to Kevin's side. “Woww!” Aldric muttered, glaring down. “It seems my dream is coming true, my daughter who has never looked at a man twice is falling in love.” “Let me leave the two of you together. Come back together.” He said and rushed out, wanting Camilla to spend as much time with Kevin. Kevin stared. Stunned. Speechless. The moment her dad left, Camilla leaned towards him, whispering, “My dad has always wanted me to marry so I can take over his per

  • CHAPTER 7

“By coming for treatment?” The doctor sounded amused, a reaction that got Alan wanting to explain more. “I want you to compound the issue, write on the report the attack was fatal and I sustained serious injuries on my face. It's business. Name your price and I'll give you whatever you want.” Kevin smiled but his smile was invisible under his face mask. “Really?” He sounded not-to-stiff. Alan and the two women following behind him were already so excited. “Alexis said it all. Dr. George is free and outgoing. Assuming we met a strict doctor.” Ivy told her mom. Alexis was her bestfriend. So she knew Dr. George here even when she worked at Carrington. Kevin thought and smiled deep again. “This is a private plan,” now the talkative began. “After getting the report, I'll sue him in court for assault and attempted murder, and get him to prison.” “Yes, of course.” Ivy reinstated. Her pupils dilated with bliss. Bianca beamed. “He's got no money for a lawyer, definitely going

  • CHAPTER 6

Kevin struck Gov. Aldric lightly behind the right side of the heart and then the left side, repeating the action twice before beginning a slow, careful massage. Everyone in the room watched in confusion, especially the senior doctors, murmuring among themselves. “What is this fool doing here? Someone get him out, he’s only making things worse!” one of the senior doctors shouted when Kevin stayed without any insignificant improvement, stepping forward to push Kevin away from the bedside. But Camilla quickly slid in front of him, blocking his path. She stood her ground and gave him a piercing, warning stare. “If you come any closer to him again, I will deal with you!” she threatened. He immediately became frightened and stepped back. If someone as calm and kind as Camilla everyone admired could say something like that, then the situation was clearly serious. “Why are you always determined to create chaos here?” she fired back at him. “Do you know this man saved me too three mon

  • CHAPTER 5

Throughout the drive to the governor’s house, he didn't say anything to Camilla, same with her, just that she kept stealing glances at him. After about thirty minutes, they arrived at the State House. They stopped and highlighted from the car just before the garden entrance of the mansion. “Wait here! Let me go inform my dad of your arrival in case he's in a meeting.” Camilla before leaving his side. While waiting alone at the entrance, he decided to wander off a little but not too long when he heard something like a low squeal, the flapping of water. The sound was coming from the right, he looked straight and it was a massive pool, about fifteen meters away. It interpreted to Kevin that someone was calling for help. No wonder the squirling voice sounded low. He forced his way amidst the complicated, windy walking route. But unfortunately by the time he arrived the man was underneath the water. He jumped into the water in search. He froze for a second seeing the depth of the poo
