Throughout the drive to the governor’s house, he didn't say anything to Camilla, same with her, just that she kept stealing glances at him.

After about thirty minutes, they arrived at the State House. They stopped and highlighted from the car just before the garden entrance of the mansion.

“Wait here! Let me go inform my dad of your arrival in case he's in a meeting.” Camilla before leaving his side.

While waiting alone at the entrance, he decided to wander off a little but not too long when he heard something like a low squeal, the flapping of water. The sound was coming from the right, he looked straight and it was a massive pool, about fifteen meters away.

It interpreted to Kevin that someone was calling for help. No wonder the squirling voice sounded low.

He forced his way amidst the complicated, windy walking route. But unfortunately by the time he arrived the man was underneath the water. He jumped into the water in search.

He froze for a second seeing the depth of the pool, about eight meters. And there was the man at the bottom of the pool.

He bashed his hands and legs against the water, diving straight to the man, scooping him into his hands. Looking into his face, it was the governor.

His hands trembled. “Is this how the governor would die? What was he doing here alone without his men?” These thoughts rocked his mind, he shrugged and dived up.

He carried the governor up, placing him on the grass, from where he heard his name.

“Kevin!”

“Kevin!!”

“Kevin!!!”

It was Camilla. She was calling at the top of her voice. So he waved to her. She caught sight of him. “I haven't seen my father.” She screamed. “His men also say they haven't seen him!” She was on the verge of tears, then she looked deeper at the man lying on the grass in front of Kevin, at once, she tore a quick race.

“Is that him?”

“Is that him?”

Goosebumps popped up all over her skin. When she came face to face with her father who seemed to have drowned, her whole body trembled.

“What happened?” Her voice cracked.

“I heard something like someone shouting for help, I tracked the sound to here but before I arrived, he was underneath the water…..”

“Whatttttt?”

“Call the doctors.” Kevin urged her instead of going dramatic, did he say while starting to perform CPR on him. He wasn't responding. Panic seized Kevin but summoned courage in his heart, praying along the line.

Before long, the senior doctors of the State House had arrived at the scene with an ambulance, a stretcher which they carried the governor into. Kevin attempted to follow him but they pushed him, gesturing to Camilla to follow.

“Who are you? Are you sure you aren't the one who pushed him into the pool?”

“Will you shut up? How do you talk to someone who saved the governor when all his men didn't even notice where he was?”

Camilla's anger pulled them off and Kevin climbed into the ambulance, straight to the hospital. A five minute drive.

While inside the doctors tried to perform their CPR, but the governor already had underlying cardiovascular diseases that made it so difficult.

Kevin remembered the skills he learnt years ago while undertaking a special course in Medicine, Cardiology to be specific.

Similar to the normal CPR but performed by a real expert. General doctors can't perform, least the patient could die and since some can't, they result to the normal CPR.

Assessing the Governor's condition, he didn't need normal CPR.

“I can revive him. Delay will lead to fatal consequences.” But the eyes with which the doctors used on him was enough to make him vanish except for his emotional strength.

He ignored them. “I majored in cardiology, up to my Masters….”

“Can you please shut the fuck up!” They barked at him. Camilla fumed.

“Can't you just give him a chance?” She cried out, not happy at the way Kevin was treated.

“So your dad passes and we will be held responsible?” One said.

Another said, “He can only deceive girls like you, not men like us.”

The third one said it directly to Kevin’s face. “When and where did you go to school? Did you drop out? If not, why are you not working?”

Kevin went silent, not ready to expose himself. But they saw his silence as his defeat.

They arrived at the State House Clinic, a well-equipped hospital. At once, emergency treatments began. Each of the veteran doctors brought their knowledge, fifteen minutes went into futile efforts.

As seconds and minutes went, Governor Aldric’s situation was getting worse. Real tears struck Camilla and fury in her heart.

“What are you guys doing?”

“Do you want my father to die?”

One of the doctors stammered nervously, “He's already…..”

“No! It can't happen under my watch.” Kevin lunged towards the bed, climbing on it and on top of the bed. No obstructions would stop him this time.

He must save the governor. Maybe that's why God brought him in at this particular time.

“What are you doing?” The doctors grumbled, trying to push Kevin off but he resisted.

“Should anything happen to the governor, you're the one….”

This was meant to stop Kevin, but instead it became a motivating point to him, pushing him to the edges and he was working like a robot programmed. Tirelessly. With accuracy in the steps that shocked the doctors.

They would never accept defeat. “Who gave you your certificate?” They asked him.

“But he's better and more courageous than you guys who claim nothing can be done even after many years in this field. You heard me right?”

As if this wasn't enough, Camilla added, “And I will marry him if he manages to bring my father, the governor, back to life at this critical moment,” Camilla declared with complete seriousness.

Kevin heard her words and froze for a moment in shock, but he quickly reminded himself that saving the governor was the priority.

“How can Camilla, the governor's heiress, agree to marry a poor and unknown man like me?” he asked himself inwardly, trying to stay focused despite his confusions. If this would happen, it's definitely what he'd need to take over from his grandpa.

“This feels almost unbelievable!” he thought, yet the words pushed him to put in even more effort and give everything he had to save Gov. Aldric.

He immediately got to work.

“I have always known you to be my twin, Freya. We might not be related by blood but we think alike and all. Do you know I said that to him earlier?” Camilla choked with emotion.“That’s because our hearts have always belonged to us you know. Camilla, I really hope your happiness lasts forever. Congratulations again. And yes, I think we need to start preparing. Please tell me what to do and I'll get it done.” Freya muttered in happiness.“Right I thought the same but Kevin seems like he doesn't want me bothering about that. Or I guess I need to talk to him about the preparations, you know.” Camilla replied as she thought it through.Kevin’s words rang in her ears again and somehow she started to convince herself that really he didn't need her worrying about the preparations. She planned to ask him later though.“No problems Camilla. Doesn't matter if it's midnight. If you need me for anything that's related to the wedding, please ring my phone.” Freya told her regardless. “Gotcha darl

“What are you thinking?” Camilla laughed.“Ummm!” Freya cleared her throat. “Umm umm,” then they both laughed as they enjoyed the water. Not long after they got out, Camilla brought out the native cooking iron with the charcoal and lit it up. “It's been like ages since I used this. After my last relationship that was ruined by Marco, I decided to stop doing this. But it's because this was the last thing I did with him. He loves barbecue a whole lot.” Camilla muttered. “But now I feel like I can. Kevin is too much for him, I guess. And this husband of mine has healed me from a whole lot.” “That monster really did a lot. But it's fine. You have me and nothing will happen to either of us henceforth.” she replied to her and coughed to lighten the atmosphere. “I'll help you. Look Camilla, you better not give a sad face. I need you looking your best. You need to look your best, do you hear me? I want that smile. That's what gets me smiling hard too.” Camilla nodded and brought out her cut

In the middle of eating, Camilla got up to take her phone then she texted Freya White. After eating, she cleaned up for the day and then made her way to the pool to let the morning sun touch her skin. She was still on that when she heard Freya’s presence. She turned and watched as her friend jumped towards her. Camilla got out of the pool and hugged Freya very tight. “You didn't plan to be somewhere today?” she asked her.She knew Freya well enough that she barely let her morning go that easily. “Well I did but it's nothing serious so I can definitely answer you. Actually, work has been so boring these days. Same routine over and over again. What about you?” she asked Camilla.“I'll be working from home today,” she replied to her. “After all, there's really nothing serious to attend to at the office, and by the way it's been very boring too. Thankfully I'm no longer single to deal with that alone. Honestly Freya, I really think you should say yes to someone. That way we will both get

“Can we hold a wedding to honor our marriage?” Kevin suddenly uttered. Even he had no idea how and when it slipped. After he recovered, he continued. “Actually I want to give you a high-profile wedding Camilla. One that you deserve and it will be fully sponsored by me. If you give me a go-ahead, I'll make that happen for us.”Camilla sat there, stunned to her bones. Knowing his financial capacity, she never thought that could be possible for her in this marriage and in actual fact, she never had a problem with it. But hearing him bring it up like this, she felt that girlishness in her move. Her excitement was bubbling. “Really Kevin? You want us to get married? Like you want us to like actually have a wedding?” she asked. He nodded his head. “I want to give you all the experience you deserve Camilla.”Her palms were on her face this time as she stared at him in surprise. She got up and went closer to him. “Yes!" she muttered, holding his hand. “Yes, I'll accept it. I wish to wear a we

They kissed hard until they were out of breath. Panting, Camilla hugged her husband. “Welcome honey!” “Thank you my love!” he was all smiles. Then he sniffed something in the air. “Is a feast going on? Seems like you have done a lot of wonders.” Camilla laughed. “Wouldn't that be wonderful though? Doing wonders for my husband! Come in please!” She helped him in and took his bag away from him. They got into the room and without another word, Camilla started helping him pull off his clothes. Kevin couldn't stop himself from staring into her eyes as she did her thing. “I’m impressed with your journey and I’m very happy because my grandson found a true soulmate!” His grandfather’s voice resounded in his ears again as he stared at her.His heart filled with joy. “I just wanted to be sure that my daughter is fine and everything is cool. You haven't called me even once to complain, child. Remember when you started working for the first time, though everyone knew better to behave well around you, you still called me for personal complaints. But ever since you married you haven't called to complain, not even about the little stress you might be facing in the marriage child.” he said to her.Camilla almost busted out laughing. “Father!” she cracked a bit. “Okay well, that's because he isn't bothering me you know. He's very peaceful and gives me all the comfort I need.” she muttered with smiles reaching her soul. “I can see that. I never expected that though. You know when you marry a man not as elite as you, most times it turns tragic. I know Kevin has shown me he's not like that, but I still have to check on you from time to time. You have to promise me that if it ever gets tough you will tell your father.” he told her, his eyes very affectionat
