“By coming for treatment?” The doctor sounded amused, a reaction that got Alan wanting to explain more.

“I want you to compound the issue, write on the report the attack was fatal and I sustained serious injuries on my face. It's business. Name your price and I'll give you whatever you want.”

Kevin smiled but his smile was invisible under his face mask.

“Really?” He sounded not-to-stiff.

Alan and the two women following behind him were already so excited. “Alexis said it all. Dr. George is free and outgoing. Assuming we met a strict doctor.” Ivy told her mom.

Alexis was her bestfriend. So she knew Dr. George here even when she worked at Carrington. Kevin thought and smiled deep again.

“This is a private plan,” now the talkative began. “After getting the report, I'll sue him in court for assault and attempted murder, and get him to prison.”

“Yes, of course.” Ivy reinstated. Her pupils dilated with bliss. Bianca beamed.

“He's got no money for a lawyer, definitely going to jail.”

Kevin was speechless but he managed to utter a “Woww!”

“He's your friend before or something?” Kevin questioned, sounding merely curious.

“My brother!” Alan snapped. “Recently he's walking with that bitchy governor's daughter who has refused all the men in the world.”

Alan smirked, grumbling more to himself.. “Stupid man felt so bold believing Camilla would come to rescue him, I'm pretty sure the governor wouldn't want her daughter having anything to do with a convict.” He laughed out loud, Ivy and Bianca followed. When they looked at the doctor, Kevin, he forced a laugh too to evade suspicion but he soon cut it.

“I guess you're one of Camilla's chasers?” Kevin asked but Alan shrugged.

“No! No!!” Alan shrugged his shoulders. “I don't want him inheriting my grandpa's assets. I failed his marriage, but now he wants to ally with the governor's daughter, my grandpa would just easily hand over to him, you know.”

By now, he was already sitting up, swaying his hands and demonstrating for someone who claimed to be sick.

Kevin laughed at him in his chest while pretending to pay attention to him.

“So really he knew what he was doing? He knew Ivy belonged to me and he came for her……to stop me by all means?” Kevin imagined as he kept listening to Alana confession.

At the end, he concluded that Ivy betrayed him and cheated but didn't know Alan was his brother as they weren't identical, secondly Alan had kept it a secret from him.

“He's the slave my dad took in to serve us and later got adopted, now he wants to take the Group from me….” Kevin recalled this statement from his confessions, the exact thing he said aloud to Ivy's hearing.

But this is a great lie, Kevin was three years older, he saw when he was born. “How can someone lie like this and foolish Ivy, she's nodding, keeps believing!” He scoffed.

“So now, you really wanna send him to jail so both Camilla and your grandpa will reject him?”

“Yessss.” Alan affirmed happily.

“Let's make a deal then!” Kevin wanted to pull out his phone but realizing Ivy and Bianca would use that to recognize him, he whispered to Alan.

“Ask them to wait outside, you know women talk too much!”

“Of course,” Alan said happily. “Please wait outside.” He excitedly chased them away and they were so happy moving out, knowing their revenge plan on Kevin was soon to be completed.

Kevin went over and shut the door. He returned back to Alan, pulling out his phone at first, ending the live record, then slid to his payment app.

“Here. Make it good.”

Alan pulled out his phone, typing into it, then captured the Qr code. An alert dropped on Kevin's phone.

“Three million dollars?” Kevin screamed, Alan laughed so loud, gratified to see him excited.

“Do the work well, I don't care how much I spend so far as I eliminate him.”

“Of course!” Kevin nodded right away.

“But…” Alan cut in.

“What?” Kevin asked, curious.

“This is very critical. Before anything, let's sign an NDA. I've got a digital contract here with me on the phone, Ivy's lawyer drafted it. I almost forgot.”

That's when the smile on Kevin’s face, underneath the mask grew so wide. “Unbelievable!” He said within his chest before muttering aloud. “That means after the deal is done, neither you nor I can talk about this to any outsider, the offended have the right to sue and claim……”

Alan nodded, passing the contract on his phone to Kevin, pointing at the clause. “Twenty-five million dollars. According to the law, no matter what we conspired, if this contract gets contradicted, the law stands which is……”

“Twenty-five million dollars.” Kevin said readily. Without wasting any time, he scribbled his signature, passing it back to Alan to sign. A copy was sent to his email.

“Everything is all good now, right?” The doctor’s feminine tone changed right away. Alan wondered but then thought it's because they are into a serious business.

Kevin slid his phone into his pocket, zipped it. He came to Alan fiercely who jerked back in wonder.

“You want fatal injuries, right?”

Alam nodded vehemently, “On my report.” He added.

“Let's make it real!” And right away, Kevin grabbed his mask and eyeglasses flinging them away. Alan’s jaw dropped to the floor. Before he could open his mouth to shout, Kevin descended on him, throwing heavy punches in his face, from all angles and directions, targeting no other place but his face and head.

“I will make sure the fatal injuries you've been wishing for, you get it in abundance!” Kevin grunted.

“You're my blood brother, and you spewed such lies? Urgh?” He landed another blow, close to his eyes.

“Please! Please!! Spare my life! I did wrong? How did you get here? I want to know!” Alan cried out.

“You want to know?” Kevin grabbed his collar, pulling him forcefully to him, then uttering in a whisper. “You really want to know?”

Alan nodded quickly, tears dripping from his eyes, his face so swollen and his hands clapping slowly in plea.

“I was walking right behind you with Camilla, here to visit someone.” He pulled off and Alan trembled expecting another blow, Kevin laughed out so loud.

“At least now you know I'm not a stalker, unlike you, who investigated till knowing who I married and seducing her.”

Alan nodded in acceptance, whatever he could do to make sure Kevin left him but he didn't. He beat him to a pulp. His cries for help were in vain as the walls were soundproof. This ward was made that way due to the pains accident victims scream with while being operated on when anesthesia refuses to work on them.

After beating him to unconsciousness, Kevin wrote the state of his injuries. Exactly as Alan wanted, pulled out his phone from his blood stained shirt, displaying the NDA contract, setting screen timer to fifty minutes, long enough for Ivy and Bianca to come notice. Then he dropped the phone on the desk. Everything was stated there. Ivy and Bianca should be educated enough not to let anyone know this.

Kevin grinned wickedly as he stood to watch Alan’s condition. “That's what every evil brother deserves.”

Removing his overalls, he folded it into the trashcan at the refuse room, washed his hands and face. There was no trace of blood on him.

Pulling his own phone out, he messaged Dr. George. “Mission accomplished, come treat him.”

Using the adjacent door, he left, George came in five minutes after he left. Seeing the scene, he was alarmed, opened the other door to call his family and they rushed in.

“What??????” Ivy screamed. Bianca shouted.

George confessed. “My very good friend asked me to give him a chance to stand in my place, a doctor graduate like me, a genius like that, many years ago. Well he sounded sinister but……” George stammered, shaking his head.

“I couldn't really refuse because his grandpa owns this hospital.”

“Are you serious?” Bianca poked her eyes so wide, up to the point of falling.

“But this my husband,” Ivy muttered in tears, “His grandpa also owned this hospital…..”

Bianca tapped her quickly. “It's Kevin. He did this!” They were about to raise an alarm and go in search of him. When George sighted the phone on his desk.

“Wait? Why's the phone on?” And they all turned their faces to look. Ivy rushed at it. She thought it was a call but upon looking it was a contract agreement and the exact phrase Alan emphasized to Kevin attracted them.

“The defaulter is liable to pay a compensation summing up to 25 million dollars or more……”

They collapsed to the ground. George stared in shock. For several minutes no one could talk, even after here.

“I need to treat him,” George said the moment he came to his senses.

“If anything, you can settle out of court!”

“No! We will settle this score in secret. It's a secret right? I've got my way.” Ivy said.

Ivy swallowed the words she had planned to say and responded with a restrained greeting, her tone stiff, especially after noticing Camilla beside him. She had assumed Camilla was only with him for that occasion. If someone had told her that this was her ex-husband’s new love interest, she would never have believed it. Yet here it was, real and undeniable. Even though their marriage had ended, Ivy still felt an odd discomfort seeing Kevin with another woman. A faint sting of jealousy crept in. She slightly missed the heavy care he showed her and their kids. Alan had no such time. “Kevin, is she someone you know?” Camilla asked, her gaze sweeping over Ivy from head to toe as if assessing her. There was a subtle edge to her tone, as though she already knew Ivy but was just mocking.Ivy’s eyes widened slightly, she was surprised that Camilla, someone who already knew her, even met her in a gala before, was now acting as if she didn’t recognize her. Still, Ivy sensed it was intentional.

“Gossshhhh!” Kevin couldn't control the glimmer in his eyes. He never expected Camilla to say something like that. When he took a closer look at her, he noticed she had a different kind of beauty compared to Ivy. She was slimmer in figure, with fuller boobs and hips, long straight hair, and a face that looked incredibly smooth. Her skin had a radiant, well-cared-for glow, as though she had undergone some luxurious treatment. She carried a captivating charm that could easily draw men in.“Why are you so surprised?” Camilla laughed loudly, her breast rising with each breath as she watched Kevin’s expression. Her presence carried a distracting, alluring scent that briefly clouded his focus. Kevin struggled to look away from her striking figure, finding it increasingly difficult not to stare. The longer he looked, the more unsettling his reaction became, he felt strangely drawn in.“Let's not rush into that.” Kevin said being a man of principle. He didn't want to be seen as just coming

  • CHAPTER 8

By the time Kevin arrived at the governors ward, he was already done and preparing to go with his daughter. Camilla came to meet him. “What took you so long?” “Yeahhh!” Gov. Aldric loomed with his deep voice. “She told me you were coming with her.” “I'm so sorry, the person I met, my brother kept me for long.” “He's here?” Aldric asked. “I'd love to meet…..” “No dad,” Camilla cut in. “He's a bad guy. Hates my man so much.” Both Aldric and Kevin narrowed their eyes in shock at the address. Camilla blushed, going over to Kevin's side. “Woww!” Aldric muttered, glaring down. “It seems my dream is coming true, my daughter who has never looked at a man twice is falling in love.” “Let me leave the two of you together. Come back together.” He said and rushed out, wanting Camilla to spend as much time with Kevin. Kevin stared. Stunned. Speechless. The moment her dad left, Camilla leaned towards him, whispering, “My dad has always wanted me to marry so I can take over his per

  • CHAPTER 6

Kevin struck Gov. Aldric lightly behind the right side of the heart and then the left side, repeating the action twice before beginning a slow, careful massage. Everyone in the room watched in confusion, especially the senior doctors, murmuring among themselves. “What is this fool doing here? Someone get him out, he’s only making things worse!” one of the senior doctors shouted when Kevin stayed without any insignificant improvement, stepping forward to push Kevin away from the bedside. But Camilla quickly slid in front of him, blocking his path. She stood her ground and gave him a piercing, warning stare. “If you come any closer to him again, I will deal with you!” she threatened. He immediately became frightened and stepped back. If someone as calm and kind as Camilla everyone admired could say something like that, then the situation was clearly serious. “Why are you always determined to create chaos here?” she fired back at him. “Do you know this man saved me too three mon

  • CHAPTER 5

Throughout the drive to the governor’s house, he didn't say anything to Camilla, same with her, just that she kept stealing glances at him. After about thirty minutes, they arrived at the State House. They stopped and highlighted from the car just before the garden entrance of the mansion. “Wait here! Let me go inform my dad of your arrival in case he's in a meeting.” Camilla before leaving his side. While waiting alone at the entrance, he decided to wander off a little but not too long when he heard something like a low squeal, the flapping of water. The sound was coming from the right, he looked straight and it was a massive pool, about fifteen meters away. It interpreted to Kevin that someone was calling for help. No wonder the squirling voice sounded low. He forced his way amidst the complicated, windy walking route. But unfortunately by the time he arrived the man was underneath the water. He jumped into the water in search. He froze for a second seeing the depth of the poo
