Rise of the Celestial Tyrant

Chapter 2.1: The dukes son

"Vex tell me" a child that seemed to be no older than teen looked up at the man that had a skull as a cap and spoke "yes dad"

"If the world is an unjust place, why do people play by its rules?" Vex shrugged looking up at the smile on his fathers face.

He crouched down and looked Vex in the eyes "people tolerate the injustice of the world is because they are cowards, like you"

"Kurk" Vex purked blood as his father grinned, he felt a piercing feeling in his stomach but couldn't look down as his father held his head "but always remember our lord diablo will soon correct this injustice if we do our part and destroy everything that apposes the demons"

"Slash" the dagger that had been in Vex stomach slashed to his right side tearing his stomach open.

"Thud" his heart raced as he dropped to his knee's, the world seemed to get darker in this already dim room.

The last comforting words he heard from the man who held the dagger that tore him open, from the man he called father was "Our lord will give you the strength to face the injustices of this world my son" he spoke with that sadistic smile that Vex grew to despise.

"THUD" the carriage shock as it bumbed on a rock, Vex opened his eyes with a cold gaze and a clenched jaw 'I had to dream about that sick fuck'

Vex had long abandoned calling the only person he knew as a parent "dad" after all the man tried to sacrifice him to a demonic god and was the reason he had to cover his body in tattoos so the church could never find him.

"Yo man are you ok?" Dex spoke as Vex glared at the person that sat across him.

He rubbed his eyes and turned to the muscular boy that sat at the end of the carriage "no just had a nightmare"

Dex smirked "must have been a bad one for you to wake up glaring at someone"

"Not that bad, I just dreamed about a world with no women" he spoke with a smile.

Dex nodded "yeah I'd be pissed if I had such a fucking dream"

"Yeah" Vex simply smiled as the conversation moved around the carriage that was only filled with teenagers.

He looked outside and the sky seemed reddish as the sun had yet to touch the sky and the man outside the carriage dragged their feet with heavy hearts, some had left their families while others had never wielded a weapon in their lives yet all had to answer the dukes call, the summon wasn't just for mercenaries but every able bodied men in the dukedom.

'Something isn't adding up' his kept glancing around, looking for anything that seemed odd 'why are we in carriages while the others are on foot?'

Currently the were three carriages and all three were filled with teenagers while almost everyone walked on foot, other than them the knights were on horse's and their number seemed to increased the closer they went to the duke castle.

'Shouldn't we be moving toward the border like Dex's dad' no matter how hard he looked around he couldn't see captain "hey Dex"

"Did captain tell you the plan?" Dex just skock his head "nah"

"He said we should just listen to these guys" he pointed to the boy in dark armour that sat across him.

"I see" Vex gaze turned to the armoured boy that had a heart tattoo on his neck 'So this is duke Ramsey bastard child'

The boy Leto was quite famous around the territory, having being adopted from the streets by the duke and trained until he became a knight all before the age of fifteen was an impressive feet.

But his adoption fueled many rumours, the duke is known for being an elitist scum that believe commoners were less than humans as such adopting a commoners child made people assume the child was his.

Now the rumours could easily be brushed off to the side as the gossip of the peasants but history defended this rumour because when the duke was young he used to sleep with commoners, people say sleep to water it down but everyone knew he raped them but suddenly he stopped.

The time the duke stopped sleeping with commoners was around fifteen or sixteen years ago, the specifics never really mattered what was important was around this time a women came and informed him she was pregnant but he turned her way.

Over the years the duke married but soon found that his wife couldn't bare any children, that is what he said but everyone assumed it was him because he could always impregnate a concubine.

But with his wife being unable to give him a child the only option for him was to adopt a child that could further the family name, but the duke was too proud of a man to raise a child that wasn't his blood as such the only choice was to find the women that once claimed to have his child and test if the child was his with magic-engineering.

Sadly when he found the child his mother had died and the boy had joined a gang to survive the cruel town he lived in. The duke purged the gang off the face of the earth killing even their families to help them atone for their sins.

No one ever found out the results of the DNA test as everyone who knew seemed to die even the duke's wife that apposed the adoption, but judging by Leto bieng alive every one assumed the results were positive.

'It was useless to kill everyone to hide the results when he didn't even kill Leto' he smiled as he looked at Leto, the boy had dark hair and blue eyes similar to Vex but his looks were lacking compared to Vex.
