Face-Slapping

The woman was now completely pissed.

“Is this a joke to you?! Do you know where you are?!” Her voice was really loud, so a lot of attention was drawn to them.

Charles shook his head with a sigh. “Just tell me the price lady. Let’s get this over and done with.”

“Is that how you want to play it huh? Then let’s do this. I’ll tell you the price and WHEN you fail to pay. You would be met with severe punishment and believe me, that isn’t something supposed to be on your bucket list.”

‘Look at her go!’ Charles stared blankly.

How can she be so sure that they couldn’t afford it?

“You know what. Let’s just leave. Forget about everything I said,” the man said, regretting that he involved him, but Charles didn’t budge.

“That’s no way to make a deal.”

The woman was the one now confused. So he went ahead to enlighten her further.

“What would happen to you WHEN I pay?”

“Huh?” her eyebrows furrowed.

“Ah! Yes!” a grin appeared on Charles’s face. “You’ll have to quit your job then.”

“Outrageous! Who do you think you are!” the woman screamed.

“What’s with that guy?”

“Does he know that he’s messing with one of the biggest estate companies in the city?”

“Who knows? Maybe he’s been treated badly all his life and just want to pull this off to feel a bit superior.”

“Let her just accept and get him punished. I’ve always liked bets like this anyway. Haha”

Hearing the murmuring around her, her lips curved into a smile.

“Fine. I accept. Buying the shop would cost $465,000. Pay up now,” she folded her hands while waiting. It was time to put them in their place.

“Please. We don’t have to do this. He’s still young,” the man tried pleading on his behalf as he didn’t believe that the boy with him would have up to that amount even if he sell his soul.

“There’s no negotiation. This deal is done and nothing can…”

“BEEP”

She didn’t finish her statement before getting interrupted by a beeping sound.

She looked towards the device which displayed a successful transfer of the exact money she demanded.

[You have spent $465,000]

[+1000 Affluent points]

No matter how he looks at it, he wasn’t losing in any way.

Earning gets increased by his income multiplier and he also gets Affluent Points. While spending also gives him Affluent Points.

The woman’s mouth was wide open, continuously blinking in disbelief as Charles retracted his credit card back into his pocket with a smile.

He received something that caused him to smile even more.

[You have received $5,000,000]

[Income Multiplier ×10 activated]

[Total income: $50,000,000]

[You gained $50,000,000]

[+500 Affluent points]

This was the daily allowance of being an Alistair.

He didn’t want to depend on them, but he decided to just let this particular privilege be.

Not just the woman but even the man who came with him was left in shock. Those watching this had a general idea of what just happened due to the expression on the aforementioned and were shocked themselves.

“I-It can’t be,” she muttered with widened eyes.

[You have successfully face-slapped several people]

[+2000 Affluent Points]

She remembered their deal and many people were now staring at her, some with pity.

There was no way that she was going to lose her job in such a way, so she came up with the best explanation, or maybe an excuse, to get away.

“Thieves! How dare you steal someone’s credit card and bring it here.”

“Is that true?”

“My God! The nerve they have!”

“They should be arrested and sent to jail.”

“How disgusting!”

These angry comments filled the air and it didn’t take long for the security men to arrive on the scene, and none of them wore the slightest smile.

“What’s going on here?” A man who arrived with the security men asked with a frown. Just by looking anyone could tell that he was in a high position here.

“Both of them. I believe they’re thieves,” the woman pointed towards them.

“Wait! What!” The man who came with Charles exclaimed in disbelief. If it was Charles being accused, a part of him would’ve believed this to be the case because it was just too surprising for him to have made that amount by himself. But now, he was also being dragged into it.

The guards turned towards them with frowns.

Some were about to react, causing Charles to sigh as he brought his finger to tap the watch when the man in charge stopped them all.

He had some experience and didn’t want to act rashly and end up with mistakes, especially seeing the unbothered expression on the face of the boy being accused.

“You would both be taken into custody for some investigations, and if by chance you’re found gu…”

“Sir!” The voice of a man cut him short, seemingly in a hurry and the person was even sweating.

He knew that his superior hates getting interrupted like this, and the frown on his face said it all, but in a situation they were, such things were trivial.

“S–Sir. I–It’s just that…”

“Just spill it out already!” Dan who was the man being spoken to voiced out quite angrily.

“A representative of the Alistairs is here, and he’s not alone.”

It took several seconds for Don to fully register his words causing his eyes to widen as he paled slightly. He immediately forgot what was happening here just seconds ago.

“Quick!” he panicked. “We have to welcome them with the best hospitality. The workers who were meant for activities like this immediately hurried off. Some of them went to welcome them, while the others took care of anything within the building that could leave a bad taste in their mouth.

While the customers and others here were puzzled at what was going on.

‘But why would they come here? I wasn’t informed about this. Damn! Maybe I should call her,' Dan thought nervously.

Charles on the other hand was slightly confused because he didn’t end up calling them, or where they here for something else.

“Just you wait. Don’t even think of escaping,” the woman glared, as Charles wondered what she had in store for them.

‘Maybe I shouldn’t go easy on her.’

The Alistair’s representative walked in with a lot of armed men, startling everyone.

They seemed agitated and in a hurry, probably looking for something or someone.

Dan hurried towards them as he was in a better position to speak with them than anyone here.

He got in front of the representative with a bow.

“Good day, Sir. To what pleasure do we owe this visit?”

Of course, he wasn’t stupid enough to reprimand them for bringing weapons here.

The man probably in his sixties, who he was talking to ignored him completely as his gaze fell on someone else.

He released a relieved sigh before walking past Dom in the direction he came from.

The lady who accused Charles was nervous watching them approach where she was. By chance, was she selected to be taken away as the mistress of one of the family members?

But she was also doubtful, ‘cause the last time she checked, she wasn’t pretty enough for that. Or was it her prayers?

When they arrived, the next thing they did put everyone in severe shock.

Including the representative, they all bowed their heads to the boy who was accused earlier of being a thief.

‘Wasn’t expecting this.’ Charles's lips curved into a smirk.
