Nothing else was left for Angus to do apart from an attempt to escape. But he didn’t know how he was supposed to go about that, and the thought of him incurring the wrath of the vicious Mayor was enough to make him very scared.

“I didn’t do it! I swear!” He shed fake tears, but even that wasn’t enough to exonerate him from the guilt of his actions.

“How could you, Angus?” The Mayor said weakly, disappointed at the Doctor who he considered his close friend.

“Maybe you all can do this later. But I need to be certain that the conditions I gave before I agreed to do this shall be met.” Quin interrupted the Mayor, and then he turned to face Diana who in turn faced Oliver.

‘What condition?” The Mayor asked, turning to face his son.

Oliver didn’t say a word, he just stood there like he had been thrown into a trance that froze him like ice.

    The guards turned to look at each other, and because Quinn was right, none of them could make any move. Rollick was still on the ground grunting in pain and trying to crawl to his sword. But it was too far away, and his strength seemed to have failed him at that moment. Quin walked up to him after he had grabbed his sword, and then he pointed it at his face.     Quin could see that the tension in the room was gradually rising, but he was there to get his uncle, and there was no way he was leaving without getting what he had come for. “May I have the seed now, Lord Farrell?” He demanded calmly, but then the old man had been convinced by his son not to let him go.“You will go back to where you found this box, and you will get me what’s inside it. That’s the only way I am letting you take both your uncle and the seed.” Lord Farrell stood his ground at once, but Quin had gotten very upset.“That was never part of our agreement, Lord Farrell.”“Well, agreements change. Ours have just changed, and my decision is final.” Lord Farrell walked up to Quin and pushed the box into his hand.“Find me what’s inside the box, then you can come back for your uncle and the seed of fire.
