"Selena, how dare you cheat on me behind my back?!" Dave immediately asked in a high tone upon seeing Selena, his wife, lying on the sofa and kissing another man.

Selena spontaneously jerked and rose from her position. She was surprised to see Dave's arrival in a waiter's uniform. As she stood up, her gaze scrutinized Dave's entire body.

"Dave ... since when have you been working as a waiter here?" Selena asked with a disgusted look.

Dave quickly stepped into the VVIP karaoke room, carrying a tray of drinks. He placed the tray on the table somewhat forcefully, then looked sharply at Selena and the unfamiliar man next to her lover.

Dave was shocked because he remembered the man next to Selena was Victor, the boss of this karaoke place where he worked. His heart felt jealous, a mix of anger and pain.

"That's not important. Who is this guy?" Dave asked, pointing to Victor.

Selena didn't answer immediately, but her facial expression showed annoyance towards Dave .

"No, I mean, why is he with you now?" Dave corrected his question.

Victor immediately laughed mockingly upon hearing Dave's question.

"Hey, don't act stupid. You've seen what we're doing, right? I'm Selena's lover," Victor replied without guilt.

Dave furrowed his brow upon hearing Victor's words. He couldn't help but let out a sarcastic laugh.

"Selena's lover? Bastard, I'm Selena's husband!" Dave replied with a raised voice.

With boiling rage, Dave was about to approach Victor. But Selena immediately pushed Dave's body as he was about to walk past her.

"What are you doing?!" Selena asked loudly, her tone rising.

Dave suddenly stepped back, his facial expression surprised at Selena's action. For a few moments, Dave could only stare in astonishment at Selena, who was angry with him.

"Don't touch him at all! Do you think you have the right to be angry?" Selena continued her sentence.

"You're protecting him?" Dave asked, unable to believe that his lover was protecting another man. "Selena, I'm your husband! How could I not be angry about your actions with that man behind my back?!"

Selena immediately laughed sarcastically and turned away. She folded her arms across her chest and looked back at Dave with a disdainful look.

"Dave, you know what, I'm sick of you. I'm tired of being in a relationship with a poor man like you," Selena replied.

Dave was somewhat surprised to hear Selena's words; he didn't expect her to say such things.

"What do you mean, Selena? I've given you everything you wanted! Look, I even took on three jobs to earn more money for you!"

Selena completely ignored Dave's recent words. She rolled her eyes in disdain.

"Oh, I'm so grateful for the things you've given me, worth no more than five hundred dollars!" Selena said sarcastically.

Dave's eyebrows furrowed. He understood that Selena's words were belittling him. He didn't expect Selena to be unable to appreciate the gifts he gave her.

"Poor you, Darling. You're beautiful, from a wealthy family, a future company owner, but you ended up with a husband who doesn't have much money," Victor replied with a pitiful look.

Selena nodded. "I thought he could achieve success. But after three years of our relationship, he's still poor."

"You shouldn't be in a relationship with him. I could give you a fifty-thousand-dollar diamond tonight, but he might have to work hard for years," Victor jeered.

"Exactly. You give me all these expensive things, I feel so valued with you," Selena replied, clinging affectionately to Victor's arm.

Hearing their words, Dave's anger grew. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.

"How long have you been together?" Dave asked, still suppressing his annoyance.

"One year. Little did you know, I've been sick of you all this time," Selena answered.

Dave seethed. Just as he was about to lunge at Victor, Selena quickly stood up to block his path.

"Bastard! I don't care if you're my boss, are you proud of ruining someone else's relationship?!" Dave asked vehemently.

Victor merely tilted his chin and displayed a smug smile. He let Selena hold back Dave 's body to prevent him from attacking.

"Dave! That's enough!" Selena snapped while pushing Dave away for the last time.

Dave stopped trying to attack Victor. Meanwhile, Selena looked at him with frustration.

"You..." Selena pointed at Dave's face firmly. "... can't be with me! We will divorce as soon as possible. There's nothing left between us."

Dave was immediately shocked.

Then Selena grinned at Dave.

"Besides being poor, you've committed a crime, Dave. I've reported you."

As soon as Selena said her words, Dave saw a group of men suddenly appear. They were all dressed in formal police attire.

"Dave Ramirez, you are under arrest for embezzlement charges against Warleslock Company Group!"

Dave was stunned to hear one of the policemen's words. He couldn't react as he pondered which of his actions was wrong.

While Dave was still in shock, his hands were being handcuffed by the police. Dave tried to recall his wrongdoing while working at Selena's family company.

"Embezzlement? Wait, I didn't do anything! I'm innocent!" Dave could only deny and resist.

The police in front of Dave completely ignored his words. On the other hand, Dave saw Selena and Victor looking satisfied.

"Selena, tell them. I couldn't have done such a thing," Dave tried to urge Selena.

Unfortunately, Selena didn't care at all. She only looked at Dave, who was resisting as he was being taken away by the police.

"Selena! Tell them I'm not the culprit!" Dave urged once again.

Selena, looking furious, immediately replied, "I can't defend you because there is strong evidence, Dave. You have to live your life well in prison."

Dave fell silent. There was nothing he could say except to resist and try to free his hands from the police.

"Wait, I can explain to you all. I'm not the perpetrator!" Dave protested while trying to free his hands from the police.

The police still firmly held Dave's hands.

"Just take him to jail. Let him explain at the police station," Selena responded. "The Warles family already has evidence of his actions."

Dave stared in shock at Selena's words.

"How could you say that when I haven't done anything?!" Dave protested to Selena.

Selena showed a indifferent expression and merely shrugged her shoulders.

Seeing Selena's indifferent attitude made Dave smirk. Dave didn't expect Selena to put him in the position of a crime suspect.

"I can't believe you would betray me like this, Selena," Dave said emphatically.

At that moment, there was nothing Dave could do but follow the police's movements. Dave couldn't argue anymore and decided to surrender.

In the midst of Dave's steps, he glanced at Selena and Victor.

They exchanged a low high-five as if celebrating a success.

Dave muttered softly, "Enjoy your pleasure until you eventually kneel and beg, Selena."

Dave followed behind Mac, who moved with nimble speed, feet hopping quickly over the wet ground, avoiding roots that jutted out from the soil, weaving between the dense plants.Mac led them to a small stretch of garden that looked remarkably fresh, various kinds of vegetables growing lush and healthy there. There were bright red tomatoes, fresh green chilies, large purple eggplants, thick leafy water spinach, and many other plants that had been tended with care despite the simple conditions. At the far end of the garden, there was an area covered with thick creeping vines spreading across the ground. Mac stopped there, then crouched down, scraping away the vines with both hands, pushing aside the leaves and stems that were covering something beneath. Then, with all his strength, Mac heaved open a large wooden door hidden under the creeping plants. It was heavy, Mac let out a grunt as he lifted it."Please, Sir! Quickly, we need to hide down below right away!" Mac said in a rush, his v
