Chapter Three: Get on your knees and beg for mercy

“You call that piece of trash a ring? I can buy her a mansion made of rings! You have to admit I am way better than you, poor fool…” Denzel beat Kyra to her words and said exactly what she had in mind.

“Admit that you are a loser. Kneel before me and beg for mercy and I might save your miserable life and lend you a few million bucks to give your pitiable life some ego...”

“Who do you think you are to talk to me like that? You are a shameless man!”

“I hate arrogant, good for nothing down-and-out people like you. You should be happy Kyra even chose you for a while. She gave you a perfect life and you can’t do the same to her. You are useless!” He closed the gap between him and Julian and from nowhere, a punch came flying at Julian’s face. Julian was not able to dodge since he was weak in martial arts, so he fell to the ground.

The right side of his face was badly injured and had a long cut which blood spilled from. He watched as another punch came to his stomach. It landed painfully on his abdomen and he felt his bones crushing into pieces. He groaned and accepted all the humiliating kicks Denzel threw at him.

After five minutes, He could not endure it anymore and fell on his knees. He coughed out blood but Denzel did not hold back. When he was about to punch him again, a magical glow glimmered in Julian’s eyes and immediately a surge of strength, resilience, and great skill came upon him, he held Denzel’s wrist and twisted it until a crack sound came.

~Crack~

He heard it again and he was very sure Denzel had too since he was whimpering in pain. Julian hauled him across the room and did not stop until he finished venting his anger on the two of them.

“Julian stop…Leave Denzel alone! Is it money you want? I can give it to you! Take…Leave us alone, you were never part of us from the start,” Her words did not bother him, and having a carefree attitude, he laughed out loud and pointed at Denzel.

“I don’t want your filthy money or your job, but mark my words, by this time next year, I will have you, Denzel, and your mother kneeling before me begging and pleading for my mercy to spare your lives and that asshole’s own. I will not spare a glance at all and I will kill you all.” Julian threatened.

****************

Julian closed his eyes for a few seconds as he absorbed what he had earlier said to Kyra. He had no idea of what had given him the guarantee that he was going to change his life within a year as well as deal with those who derided him. He was beginning to regret what he had said. How was he going to make sure he followed up with his threats. His dignity and pride were more important.

However, how was he supposed to face them on later in the future if he had accepted it without a fight? And where did that strength come from? He never knew he was strong!

Lost in his thoughts, Julian walked straight into the alley downturn, his fist inside his pocket. He had not noticed that all this while he had been trailed by a mysterious, black car with tinted glass. He kept on ringing his words times without a number in his head while his pocketed fist grew tighter and harder.

He was going to make them pay for what they did to him. He took a turn which led him to the broad street. The entire screams and loud cheers shocked him. He struggled past the crowd not caring what was going on there.

As he was about to cross the road, his path was obstructed by a shiny parked car. He could recognize that brand of car anywhere. This was the latest Porsche that cost billions of dollar, aside that only a handful of people owned that car. Having such considered one as part of the top five richest men in the entire world. And it cost billions to purchase the car.

Soon thirty other cars though not as lavish as the first one parked all lining up in five lines. Their car door opened up at the same time and coming down from the Porsche car was a man dressed in a slivery black tuxedo. His clothes ranging from millions to billions. He spelt filthy rich. He swirled the keys to the car and all at once, they fell on one knees, their arms on their forehead as they bowed their heads in a unique manner reserved for kings and heirs to kingdoms.

Their flashy arrival drew more crowd closer to them but luckily, the forty men were swift enough not to allow any body to get any photo of Julian as they formed a strict barricade around him. Still shocked by this, Julian took steps backward unable to believe this was happening to him. Who was he to deserve such greetings?

Did they mistake him for a person born with a silver spoon?

“Young master, our future heir to the great empire. We have finally found you.”

Julian immediately understood the gesture and took a seat beside him. Eden clears his throat before speaking , “Are you truly willing to accept the Magnus name?” He asked, his voice still coming out hoarse despite his earlier actions. Julian appeared surprised, why was Eden questioning him like he had a choice. He was literally forced to be here. A part of him was tempted to say ‘no’, but he held back against it. “I only agreed partly because it was Auntie Lore’s dying wish and because I am choosing to view this as an opportunity to get the life I aspire” Julian responded to him with a straight face. Eden nodded , he respected his honesty and braveness. “Being a Magnus is not only about getting the life you deserve. Yes, you would get the life you deserve but you should also know that it all comes at a cost,” Eden said, a subt

I will show you that you are not worthy to even tie my shoelace and then Denzel , the punches you gave me, I promise to return them to you in ten folds’He said in his mind and relaxed his back on the soft chair. He hummed his favorite lullaby and took a short nap while the car drove. They arrived at the destination and the door was opened by Kian. Julian climbed down from the car and in a span of a second, the entrance was crowded with maids, guards and butlers, lining up having their head bowed down. They genuflected and said in unison. “Welcome back Young Lord!” As soon as they said, the pathway was cleared and Julian’s l

Unfortunately, she did not open her eyes and it was shut forever. ~Beeeppp~ The monitor rang alerting Eden, Smith and his medical team. They rushed into the room and found Julian crying his heart out. He clenched onto her arms begging her to wake up and be alive. Smith dragged Julian away from her and handed him over to the old man. Smith confirmed her death and bowed his head in silence. He raised the blanket and covered her entire body, stepped away from the bed after detaching the monitor and tubes from her body and allowed for her dead body to be rolled out of the room. “12 am in the morning, Miss Lore Harrison passed away from heart stroke. Chapter Eight: Passed away. “What?!” Julian said, his brows furrowed in incomprehension. A few while ago, he had blamed the old man and even dared to beat him till he bled from the right side of his mouth. Now that Smith testified to it and bowed his head as a sign of gratitude to the old man, guilt pricked him. He stared at the smirking old man and followed the doctors to the private, VIP room. “I suppose he also paid for this too?” Julian hovered around Smith’s shoulders and asked. He was regretting everything he had done to this old man. He only wanted his grandson back to him and nothing more. He didn’t plan on harming him either. Could it be they were also the good guys too? Julian in guilt walked inside the room. He brought out a chair for Eden as a sign of gratitude. Five minutes passed and the doctors concluded the medical checkup on Miss Harrison and left, allowing the two of them to be alone. Julian glanced at Eden and he did the same back to Julian. They made eye contac

Did you not say she loved you and would spend her lifetime with you” “I thought so but it seems I was wrong about her. She is like every woman out in the world. She is not special in anyway. I was damn fucking stupid to trust she was different.” Julian balled his fist while he recalled today’s incident. He had been crushed by someone whom he cherished so much. Heartbreak was the very bittersweet truth everyone hated. “Women can never be trusted especially those from the higher rank. They care about themselves and money. Well, you live you learn which my motivation has been since. Mistakes are made to be learnt from. Don’t be down because of a woman. You have other blessed opportunity ahead of you and I know you are a fulfilled individual. No one should belittle you anymore.” “I will remember your words, my good friend and become stronger

The statement written boldly on his phone caused him to be thrown into a dilemma. His legs wobbled and he gazed into the old man’s eyes. “Is three hundred million nothing to you people?” He was on the verge of crying and also, confused by his own identity as Jackson, the young lord heir to the throne.
