Chapter 15

Third person POV;

A moment ago we were standing in the middle of the room; now we came crashing in what seemed to be a shed. I groaned as I bumped my head on the wooden frame, scaring the horses.

“What in the seven seas just happened?” When I finally came through, I glanced around, but Rodryce was already on his feet and on the move. “What's going on?”

I hated being left in the dark, especially in times when everything was changing around me. “Who was that back there? Where are we? And how did we get here?” I threw different questions at him as we moved.

Although Rodryce was a bit slow, that didn't stop him. “Teleportation magic: we are currently at the edge of Frenmark Village.”

I paused for a second to take it in. “Teleportation magic?” My blood seemed to boil as realisation dawned on me, “If you had such magic, why didn't you just use it before? I could have seen my parents and….”

    Chapter 17Camyre’s pov.We were hauled by horses along the dirt road, and thereafter forced to walk, our hands remained bound by the enchanted shackles and held by the guards as they pulled us along. It seemed Rodryce knew what they were, as he didn't bother to fight with them.I endeavored to speak with Rodryce, yet was met with naught but a disgruntled murmur in reply; he appeared far too frail even to stand, let alone walk. “Oi, at least let him rest small, he doesn't look too good,” I yelled at them and was completely ignored.“If this carries on, we may not even reach the capital—let alone the Imperial Palace,” I reasoned with them, though silence met my plea once more. Still, I pressed on. “If you will not aid him, then at the very least, give him some water.”I merely wished that none should perish on my account. The image of Edna—screaming, bloodied—remained etched in my mind, cruel and vivid.The guards let out a low, mocking chuckle. “And what makes you think we care if he

    Chapter 16Camyre's POV.I groaned in despair, feeling the weakness in my bones; my eyes felt too heavy for them to open, and my hands too heavy to lift. Everywhere hurt so much.It felt as though a tiny man had gained entry into my head and banged on with its hammer.I managed to get my eyes to open slowly; beams of light shot at me from the window, almost blinding me. Once again, a groan emanates from me as I sit up right on the hay.Hay?They poked my skin with every move I made.Glancing around the surroundings to find I was in a stable devoid of any horses, I thought, “What the bullock happened?” I was in a turmoil, running my hands through my locks in an attempt to recall the events that had landed me here when it all came rushing back to me.Groaning even louder from the intense pain as the images flashed through my mind.My breath hitched as memories came crashing down on me and I fell back down on the thatched horse feed.The light.The woman with white hair.Edna’s screams a

    Chapter 14Camyre's pov:I had just been informed that going back home would be impossible, what was I supposed to do? Where else did I have to go?“You would have to answer my question first, do you want to keep your powers?” Rodryce posed.My powers were not me, they have never been a part of me but somehow it always felt natural when I used them.“You hesitate,” rodryce noted, picking up his belongings from the ground, “Well, until you can answer that question, I do not know if I can offer my help,” he moved to walk away and leave me behind.Training before chasing after him, “I wasn't hesitating, you can not blame me for not being able to make such decisions in the spot,” “I don't blame you, I'm simply making a point,” he noted despite facing the pathway that had formed before us, “Something deep inside of you wants more, it feeds on the power you possess and deep down wants more even though your desires are different,”I was perplexed by his words, thrown into confusion, “A I de

    Chapter 13Camyre’s POV:Man, Rodryce closed his eyes and muttered under his breath, “I don't think this is the time to pray.” I wanted to whisper when he held a hand up for me to remain silent.The imperial guards surrounding us seem to be oblivious, and in the next second, white smoky fog spilled out of Rodryce’s lips as he slowly fell to his knees.The smoke slowly filled the surrounding area, so thick, it threw the guards into a state of blindness and confusion. One by one, they sank to their knees until there was none left standing.Rodryce opened his eyes and stood upright, “Let's go,” ordering before sprinting away from the fallen soldiers. I hesitated as my gaze lingered on them as I stepped over their limp bodies.Until we got far enough before we finally stopped running to catch a breather, I stared blankly into space, “You killed them,” it dawned on me.“You killed all of them.” “Well it's either that or they would have gut us too, now are you going to tell me who the hell

The villagers' screams could be heard as they tried to avoid the whirlwind, running away from it, but their goods couldn't be spared.Some of them glanced at me with awe in their eyes as they ran away, “An heir,” the whispers began and I didn't have the time to be confused.“Get up boy! We need to get out of here,” the look in his eyes screamed of fear and caution but he still dragged me up from underneath my arm and pushed me towards the horses.All the while I stared at what I might have potentially created as it caused havoc, “what about the villages, the whirlwind would not stop until it destroys everything in its path,” I frantically stated to Rodryce as he pushed me onto the horse.Glaring at me furiously, “Yes well, whose fault is that? You need to get out of here, while I try to stop it,” he
