The rainfall felt like shattered glass against his face, but Calvin Hudson didn’t care. His legs were a blur of superhuman motion, each stride covering ten yards as the pure Qi in his dantian burned like an internal engine.

"System!" Calvin roared into his mind as he sprinted past the blurry city lights. "How much time does Elara have left?!"

[Ding! Warning: Target Elara Hudson’s vital systems are rapidly destabilizing. Host has precisely four minutes and twelve seconds before cellular brain death occurs. Accelerating internal Qi flow to lower limbs.]

"Faster!" Calvin hissed, his boots tearing up chunks of asphalt as he practically flew toward Bacca Central Hospital.

Inside the 7th-floor VIP Intensive Care Unit, the atmosphere was dead silent, save for the hum of a ventilation fan. Dr. Harrison stood over Elara’s bed, his hand resting on the main power breaker of the life-support module. Beside him, a junior doctor, Dr. Lin, trembled violently.

"Dr. Harrison... are we really doing this?" Lin whispered, his face pale. "She’s just a kid. If anyone investigates—"

"Shut up, you idiot!" Harrison snapped, flicking the heavy plastic switches downward one by one. The hum of the oxygen pump died. The digital monitors flickered and went dark. "Young Master Julian’s orders are absolute. The Vances are ruined, the Hudsons are dust. Who is going to investigate? A ghost?"

On the bed, Elara’s chest gave one final, shallow heave. The auxiliary backup monitor beside her bed let out a long, horrifying sound.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

"Heart rate zero," Harrison muttered, checking his watch. "12:04 AM. Write it down, Lin. Failure of respiratory system due to terminal genetic degradation. Clean and legal."

"Let's get out of here," Lin pleaded, backing toward the door. "I can't look at her."

Before Harrison could answer, a thunderous crash shook the entire VIP wing. The heavy, double-paneled security doors at the end of the corridor didn't just open—they tore off their steel hinges and flew across the hallway, shattering against the opposite wall.

"What the hell was that?!" Harrison yelled, drawing a scalpel from his tray in pure panic.

The emergency backup lights flickered on, casting a crimson glow over the hallway. Through the smoke and dust walked Calvin Hudson. His eyes were glowing with a terrifying, golden-crimson intensity, and the sheer pressure of his Qi made the air inside the corridor vibrate.

"Calvin?!" Harrison gasped, his voice cracking. "How are you alive? Security! Security, get up here!"

"They aren't coming, Harrison," Calvin said. His voice was a low, vibrational rumble that shook the glass windows.

He moved. To Harrison and Lin, it looked like a teleportation trick. In less than a fraction of a second, Calvin was standing right in front of them inside the ICU room.

"You turned it off," Calvin whispered, his God’s Gaze instantly scanning Elara’s translucent form. Her heart had stopped beating. Her brain cells were beginning to darken from lack of oxygen.

"Get away from the patient!" Harrison screamed, lunging forward with the scalpel aimed at Calvin's chest. "She's dead! You're too late, you matrilocal loser!"

Calvin didn't even look at him. He simply flicked his left wrist. A shockwave of pure energy hit Harrison, throwing the two-hundred-pound doctor through the air. Harrison crashed violently into a row of metal medicine cabinets, unconscious before he hit the floor.

"Please don't kill me! I just did what he told me to!" Dr. Lin fell to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably, his hands over his head.

"Reconnect the main grid. Now," Calvin commanded, his voice cold enough to freeze water.

"I—I can't! The server lock is manual from the basement after a manual shutdown!" Lin choked out. "It takes ten minutes to reboot!"

"Ten minutes means she dies," Calvin muttered. He turned to Elara, his fingers blurring as he pulled out the velvet pouch containing his silver needles.

[Ding! Divine Medical System Alert: Patient is in a state of clinical death. Commencing emergency protocol: 'The Nine Yin-Yang Needles - Third Form: The Soul Anchoring Lock'. Host must inject sixty percent of remaining Qi directly into the heart meridian.]

"I don't care if it takes a hundred percent," Calvin said aloud, his fingers gripping three needles simultaneously. "Elara, hold on. Brother is here."

He drove the first needle straight into her Shanzhong point.

"First needle, open the gates of life!" Calvin roared.

A pulse of visible golden light traveled down the silver metal, entering Elara's chest. The flatlining monitor gave a violent static twitch.

"Second needle, sever the path of the underworld!"

He struck her upper neck. The dark, toxic veins on her throat began to writhe as if they were being burned by fire.

"Third needle... wake up!" Calvin drove the longest needle directly into her heart cavity. He closed his eyes, forcing every ounce of the Qi in his dantian through his fingertips. The air around the bed began to hum, a warm mist rising from Elara's skin.

Dr. Lin looked up from the floor, his jaw dropping in absolute disbelief. "This... this is impossible. Her body temperature is rising... the cellular necrosis is stopping!"

Beep.

The flatline broke. A single, weak spike appeared on the auxiliary monitor.

Beep... Beep...

Elara’s chest rose. Then, she let out a sharp gasp, her eyes snapping open as a rush of air filled her lungs. The monitor stabilized into a perfect, rhythmic sequence.

"Calvin...?" Elara whispered, her voice incredibly weak, but her eyes clear.

Calvin collapsed slightly against the side of the bed, his forehead drenched in sweat, but a fierce, triumphant smile broke across his face. He caught her small hand, squeezing it tightly.

"I'm here, Elara," Calvin said, his voice thick with emotion. "I told you. Nobody takes you away from me."

Beep… Beep… Beep…The steady, rhythmic sound of the auxiliary heart monitor sliced through the stunned silence of the ICU like a scalpel. The long, agonizing death-wail that had filled the room just moments ago was entirely gone.Dr. Lin looked up at the digital dashboard, his glasses sliding down his nose. His eyes widened to the size of saucers. "Dr. Harrison… look at the arterial pressure. 120 over 80. It’s… it’s a textbook perfect reading!""Shut up! That’s impossible!" Dr. Harrison scrambled off the floor, his face twisted in utter disbelief. He shoved Lin aside, lunging toward the primary medical terminal. He slammed his palms onto the desk, staring at the surging green lines. "The brain waves! Look at the EEG tracker! The cellular hypoxia is reversing! This defies every law of modern biochemistry!""Look at her face, Doctor," Calvin said. His voice was calm, though his chest heaved slightly from the massive expenditure of his internal Qi. He stood over Elara's bed, his hand sti

The heavy reinforced glass door of the VIP Intensive Care Unit shattered inward as Calvin threw the last tactical guard through it. The guard slid across the polished floor, groaning in pain, completely incapacitated."What is the meaning of this?!" Dr. Harrison roared, jumping back from Elara’s bed. He was clutching a tablet containing the termination paperwork. "Security! Get this lunatic out of here!"Calvin stepped into the sterile room, his drenched clothes steaming slightly from the pure *Qi* radiating from his skin. In his right hand, he held a cheap, paper-wrapped pack of thirty-six standard acupuncture needles he had grabbed from the hospital's ground-floor pharmacy counter."Step away from my sister, Harrison," Calvin said, his voice dropping to a dangerous, sub-zero temperature."Are you insane?!" Dr. Lin, the junior physician, shrieked from the corner. "This is a sterile VIP environment! You can't just barge in here with... with cheap street trash needles! She is clinicall

Marcus's laughter died instantly. His brow furrowed. "What... what do you mean?" "Look at your left palm, Marcus," Calvin pointed. "The base of your thumb. Is there a faint, greenish-black line running toward your wrist?" Marcus instinctively looked down at his left hand. His breath hitched. A thin, sickly green line was indeed tracing its way along his vein. "This... this is just a minor bruise! I bumped it at the airport earlier!" "It's not a bruise," Calvin said, taking another step closer, entirely unfazed by the poison bottle. "That is the Abyssal Ash mutation path. It has already compromised thirty percent of your lower pulmonary lobe. Every time you smoke that expensive cigar, you are accelerating the cellular degradation. In less than three minutes, that line will reach your wrist. And when it does..." Calvin paused, his eyes narrowing. "Your lungs will literally begin to liquefy from the inside out." "Liar! The storm howled outside the derelict warehouse, but inside, the air was suffocatingly hot. The click of twelve assault rifles taking off their safeties echoed like a chorus of death. "Fire!" Marcus Vance screamed, his voice cracking with a mixture of terror and desperate rage. "Kill him! Leave nothing but blood!" "Master!" Vivian Nightshade moved to step in front of him. "Stay back, Vivian," Calvin said, his voice dropping to a calm, icy register. "I've got this." A wall of lead erupted from the weapons, the muzzle flashes illuminating the dark, grime-covered walls of the warehouse. Vivian didn't even flinch. She stood perfectly still behind Calvin, her hands folded neatly in front of her. Because she knew. Calvin didn't draw a weapon. He didn't even take his hands out of his pockets. Instead, his eyes flashed with a blinding, golden-crimson light. The Divine Medical System roared within his soul, and the pure Qi in his dantian surged outward like a tidal wave. Voom—

The torrential rain that had battered the city of Bacca all night finally began to recede, leaving behind a cold, damp mist that clung to the asphalt. As the first pale rays of dawn broke through the heavy cloud cover, a fleet of pristine, midnight-black luxury sedans pulled up to the entrance of the Nightshade Tower—the crown jewel of the city’s financial district. The lead car’s door opened, and Calvin Hudson stepped out. His custom-tailored suit was immaculate, completely untouched by the elements. Walking half a step behind him was Vivian Nightshade, holding a sleek leather briefcase, her expression a mix of absolute professionalism and deep respect."Master Hudson," Vivian said as they stepped into the private, high-security elevator that led directly to the penthouse suite. "The liquidation of the Vance family assets is proceeding exactly as scheduled. By noon today, their villa, their luxury vehicles, and their remaining domestic accounts will be fully seized by our legal team.
