Xiao Kwan, who was on top of Li Lan’s naked corpse, immediately turned his head. He, who got the last turn to violate the body of the beautiful forty-year-old woman, looked visibly irritated.

While his three companions had already finished satisfying their vile lusts, Xiao Kwan—who had just started—was suddenly interrupted. What enraged him even more was that the one interrupting him was the son of the very woman he was violating.

“Catch him! Let me finish this first,” he ordered the other three men.

“You beasts! I will kill all of you!” shouted Xiao Chen, burning with rage. His rationality had left him—he knew full well that he was no match for the four demonic warriors. But he thought it better to die than to see his mother’s corpse defiled.

The sword in the twenty-year-old’s hand was raised high, ready to strike the man on top of his mother’s body.

But he had barely taken three steps into the room when a powerful kick struck him hard, throwing him back and crashing into a cupboard that shattered into pieces. The sword slipped from his hand and landed near one of the members of the Four Demon Sickles.

“You stupid brat! Hold him down and force him to watch! Let him suffer while he sees his mother’s body defiled!” Xiao Kwan shouted.

Two of the men rushed to seize Xiao Chen, forcing him to kneel and face the bed.

“Look at this, boy! Even as a corpse, your mother’s body still feels incredible,” Xiao Kwan sneered with sick delight.

Xiao Chen tried to shut his eyes, refusing to witness the cursed act happening to his mother’s lifeless body. But a brutal kick to his ribs made him gasp in pain.

“Open your damn eyes!” Xiao Kwan barked as he continued thrusting into Li Lan’s corpse. “Force that bastard to watch!”

One of the Four Demon Sickles tried to force Xiao Chen’s eyes open. But the young man resisted, still refusing to look. Another savage kick landed on his side, followed by a punch to his head.

Despite the physical and emotional torment, Xiao Chen refused to cry out in pain. His parents had never raised him to be weak or to complain.

Infuriated by the boy’s resistance, one of the four finally pried open Xiao Chen’s eyelids. He was forced to watch, at close range, as Xiao Kwan violated his mother’s body.

Tears streamed down Xiao Chen’s face, unable to hold back the agony and fury boiling inside him. “You monsters! I swear I’ll take revenge for what you did to my parents!” he screamed.

But once again, a fist landed squarely on his body. This time, his face was the target—beaten by one of the men who had destroyed his family.

Satisfied after violating Li Lan’s body, Xiao Kwan pulled up his pants. He then grabbed Xiao Chen’s bloodied face and said coldly, “Tell us where your father hid the Sky Sovereign Manual. Speak, or we’ll torture you until you do.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, you beast in human form!” Xiao Chen spat in his face, refusing to show fear.

Fury surged through Xiao Kwan. Xiao Chen’s defiance sent him into a blind rage. He no longer cared to extract information from the boy.

Repeatedly, his brutal fists crashed into Xiao Chen’s face until the young man finally lost consciousness.

The other three didn’t bother stopping Xiao Kwan’s savagery. They only sighed in frustration—Xiao Chen had been their only lead to finding the Sky Sovereign Manual.

“Why did you knock him out? Have you forgotten that we still need him alive for information?” asked Yuan Fu, a tall, muscular man.

“There’s no point in questioning him, Yuan Fu. I’m sure he doesn’t know anything about the manual. Look at him—he hasn’t even learned the most basic martial arts. That means Xiao Yu hid everything about his true identity from this weakling,” Xiao Kwan said, glaring at the unconscious Xiao Chen, whose face was drenched in blood.

“Damn it! We’ve been hunting the two of them for almost twenty years. And what do we get? Just a dead woman to violate,” Yuan Fu said bitterly.

“Let’s go. We’re done here. Even though it doesn’t make up for the years we’ve wasted, at least I finally got to feel Li Lan’s body,” Xiao Kwan said while staring at the naked corpse.

Since seeing Xiao Yu’s wife twenty years ago, Xiao Kwan had been obsessed with tasting the voluptuous body of the famed beauty. Though the chance came only when she was a corpse, his twisted ambition had finally been fulfilled.

“If it weren’t for the other three, I wouldn’t tire of using your body all night,” he muttered to himself.

The Four Demon Sickles, notorious black-clad martial warriors, then left Xiao Yu’s house. They didn’t bother to check on Xiao Chen, certain he would bleed to death anyway.

---

The next morning, the villagers—who had hidden in fear the previous night after hearing the fierce battle between Xiao Yu and the four men wielding large sickles—gathered and rushed toward Xiao Yu’s home. They wanted to know what had happened that led to Xiao Yu being attacked by four men at once.

They were also curious about the true identity of Xiao Yu. All this time, he had lived so quietly—no one would have guessed he was a warrior. He always appeared gentle and would avoid conflict at all costs.

When they reached Xiao Yu’s home, the villagers were surprised to see the door still tightly shut. Unlike most homes in Qincheng village, which were usually wide open in the morning, this one remained sealed.

Sensing something was wrong, one of the men took the initiative to knock. He called out the names of the family members inside, but no one responded.

“Just open it. Maybe it’s not locked,” another villager suggested.

The man nodded and tried the handle—it was indeed unlocked.

The moment he opened the door, he was shocked to find the inside of the house looking like it had been hit by a tornado. Tables and chairs were overturned, and the cupboards and other furnishings lay in ruins.

His suspicion growing, the man stepped further inside. He checked the front bedroom—Xiao Chen’s usual sleeping quarters. It was the same—completely wrecked.

He decided to check the next room. But as he stepped in, he froze.

What lay before his eyes was a sight no one should ever witness.

  • The Black Scorpion Sect

“As far as we know, no one followed us, Elder,” one of Zong Rui’s men replied respectfully.“Of course you wouldn’t know,” Zong Rui said calmly, his tone neither harsh nor forgiving. “Your attention was fixed on the ground, never thinking that the one tailing you might have been above.”He wasn’t scolding them, merely stating a fact. His subordinates’ spiritual perception was far too weak to sense the presence of a cultivator whose inner energy exceeded theirs by many levels.“You mean the person was leaping across rooftops?” Liu Zen asked in disbelief. As a man without any martial cultivation, the idea sounded nearly impossible to him.“That’s exactly what happened, my lord,” Zong Rui answered with a faint trace of pride. “You saw yourself how I could leap onto the roof with ease. Others with far greater skills could move from house to house without leaving a sound.”Liu Zen nodded slowly, still struggling to accept such an incredible re

Both of them were clearly puzzled, for it was impossible that they had any acquaintances in the royal city of Zinan."Wasn’t that man a friend of yours?" asked the woman who owned the eatery, noticing the subtle change on the young men’s faces."I’m not sure—perhaps an old friend whose face and name we’ve already forgotten," Xiao Chen replied casually. He had no intention of lingering there any longer; he needed to find out who that mysterious man was—someone who dared to claim they were friends. After bidding farewell to the woman, the two stepped toward the door and paused for a moment. They spoke quietly, then went their separate ways. • The Plan to Eliminate Xiao Chen and Xiao Ji

“It’s without question that those two are the ones, my lord,” said Zong Rui, shifting slightly in his seat. “But what puzzles me is their motive. Why would they do such a thing? Could they have been sent from the palace to inspect the villages? Or perhaps they bear some grudge against Duke Tian Long and seek to turn the people against him by forbidding the tribute payments?”Liu Zen leaned back into his cushioned chair, his brows furrowing deeply as his mind turned over the possibilities. A heavy sigh escaped from his nostrils—a sign of deep contemplation.“Whatever the reason,” he said slowly, “we must be cautious, Elder. If they truly are agents of the imperial court, then Lord Yao Li surely knows of them, for his position in the palace is one of great power. Still, whether he knows them or not, one thing is certain—those two young men have come to believe that Duke Tian Long is not a good ruler. That belief alone could work to our advantage.”“Every advantage has its danger,” Zong

  • Proven Truth

Booking an inn room for an entire week without being a merchant was, to Li Lan, an undeniable cause for suspicion. Something about the two strangers felt off, and she was determined to uncover the truth behind her growing unease. As the First Elder of the Black Scorpion Sect, Li Lan possessed both the authority and the experience to act decisively. To confirm whether her suspicions were valid, she decided to assign a trusted subordinate to watch over the two mysterious men.“Go. Keep an eye on them from outside the inn. My men will arrive later to replace you,” Li Lan ordered firmly.“Yes, Elder,” replied the soldier before bowing respectfully and hastening away.Li Lan returned to her seat once the soldier had departed. Not long after, Liu Zen entered the chamber. Before he could even ask, Li Lan began to report.“The two young men reserved a room for seven days at one of the inns, Sir,” she said calmly.“How peculiar,” Liu Zen muttered, his brow furrowing. “Make sure to find out wha

  • Zong Rui’s Doubt

One of the guards suddenly raised his arm, blocking Xiao Chen and Xiao Ji as they were about to climb the stairs.“Stop! What business do you have upstairs?”“We came here to eat,” Xiao Chen replied calmly. “Since the upper floor is open to certain guests, we believe we have the same right to dine there.”Realizing that the two young men were warriors, the guard immediately changed his tone. “Very well, you may go up—but please, do not cause any disturbance. Lord Liu Zen is holding a private meeting.” He lowered his arm respectfully.Xiao Chen gave a faint smile and started up the stairs, Xiao Ji following closely behind. When they reached the upper floor, Xiao Chen’s eyes quickly found the nobleman he had seen earlier. Now that he could see more clearly, he was certain this man was Lord Liu Zen—the one mentioned by the guard. Beside him sat the white-haired elder from before, as well as two other men, one of whom was dressed in fine garments not typical of officials or nobles, yet ca

  • A Different Truth

Ling Er could hardly believe what had just unfolded before her eyes. Never in her darkest imagination did she expect her own father to become a merciless killer.“Father… how could you stain your hands with the blood of these vile men?” she asked, trembling.“It’s all right, Ling Er,” her father said in a low voice, his eyes shadowed by years of silent resentment. “For so long, the villagers and I have harbored hatred toward Bai Shan and the headman, yet none of us dared to resist. The arrival of these two young heroes must be Heaven’s way of freeing us from their tyranny.”The villagers indeed felt relief over the death of Bai Shan and the corrupt headman, but that sense of freedom was far from complete. They all knew it was only a matter of time before Duke Tian Long learned that his tribute had not been paid.“Tomorrow morning, we’ll continue our journey,” said Xiao Chen firmly. “I hope all of you can reorganize this village and choose a leader who truly serves the people.
