Zhang Wei believed it was time for Xiao Chen to step into the harsh world of martial arts. The arrival of warriors seeking the sacred weapon was the perfect opportunity for his only disciple to experience the brutal reality that awaited him once he left the Thousand Ghost Hill.

Yet, he also wondered whether his disciple was ready to fight, given that he had only just regained consciousness.

“This place has never been touched by outsiders, Xiao Chen. Are you sure you’re ready for battle? Remember, you’ve never fought anyone before. Your movements will still be stiff,” Zhang Wei warned.

“Who said I’ve never fought?” Xiao Chen replied with a mysterious smile, glancing toward Benggala, who was sitting by the cave entrance.

Zhang Wei immediately understood the meaning of that glance. “You sparred with him?”

Xiao Chen smiled again and nodded slightly. “We’ve sparred many times, Grandpa. Though we never went all out, Benggala’s claws have scratched my chest before.”

Xiao Chen loosened his clothing to show the scar from their training bouts—but his eyes widened in surprise when he saw that his chest was completely smooth, without a trace of injury.

“Where is it?” he muttered to himself in disbelief.

Zhang Wei smiled at his disciple’s astonishment. The old man had his own theory. “Turn around and face that way!”

Xiao Chen furrowed his brows in confusion but obeyed without question.

“The scars on your back are gone as well, Xiao Chen. This means your rare body has activated—it will heal any open wound on its own,” Zhang Wei explained.

Xiao Chen turned back to face him. “Rare body? I don’t understand.”

“Listen carefully. While you were meditating, I sought answers about you and about the Benggala you saw in your visions. I visited a hermit friend of mine on a distant mountain,” Zhang Wei said, taking a deep breath as he recalled the explanation he had been given. He took three steps toward a wide stone and sat down.

“That Benggala you saw now resides within his own body,” he continued, glancing toward the great beast at the cave’s mouth.

Xiao Chen frowned in confusion, realizing there was still much about the outside world—and the martial realm—that he did not know.

“As for the rare body you possess, it is both a blessing and a curse. Such a body appears only once every ten thousand years, and it is truly extraordinary. But it comes with reversed blood flow—something that can become a great misfortune if no one capable of restoring it to normal appears in your lifetime,” Zhang Wei explained.

“What’s the danger of reversed blood flow, Grandpa?”

“You cannot fight for long. You will never be able to use your full inner strength. If you force yourself to battle for more than two hours, your heart will explode, and you will die.”

“I see… But can’t you fix it so my blood flows normally?” Xiao Chen asked.

Zhang Wei shook his head. “Only certain people can do that. One day, if fate allows, you’ll meet such a person. That is—if you’re still alive, hahahaha!”

Xiao Chen frowned at the unpleasant remark but soon laughed along.

“I understand now. Out there, I will face countless warriors. If I can’t survive, then I’ll never meet the one you speak of.”

“Hahahaha! Good, then remember this—never show mercy to your opponent. End every fight quickly, because you will also be fighting against time and your own inner strength,” Zhang Wei said.

The old man then recalled the flash of blue light he had seen bursting from within Xiao Chen’s cloth bundle. But before he could ask about it, he remembered that he needed to meditate.

“Xiao Chen… Go out and train! But stay away from this place so your energy doesn’t disturb the natural balance here. I’m going to meditate,” Zhang Wei instructed.

“Can I bring Benggala with me?”

“Leave Benggala here to stand guard.”

“Very well, Grandpa. Then I’ll train at the waterfall,” Xiao Chen replied.

“Go! I’ll join you later.”

Xiao Chen nodded, took the Demon Wolf Sword, and strapped it tightly to his back. Walking to the cave’s entrance, he gently stroked Benggala’s head.

“Don’t wander off—watch over Grandpa.”

Grrrrrrgh! Benggala growled as if in response.

Xiao Chen looked up at the bright sky above. “A perfect day for training,” he murmured.

With sharp features, a strong jawline, and eyes as keen as a hawk’s, the young man jogged away from the cave.

His pace grew faster—three to four times faster than normal—without him even realizing why. His inner strength was naturally reacting, creating what the martial world called Light Body Technique. But in his case, it wasn’t intentional; it was purely the instinctive awakening of his innate power.

Since Zhang Wei had never taught him this technique, Xiao Chen didn’t recognize it. All he knew was that he felt incredibly energized, not even slightly fatigued despite his speed.

Before long, he reached the waterfall where he had once meditated—only to find the pool beneath it nearly filled with rocks and boulders.

“What happened here? Who did this? That wretch! If I find them, I’ll snap their neck!”

Suspicion flared in his mind. He suspected someone was trying to bury the pool so he could no longer bathe there.

Before starting his training, Xiao Chen quenched his thirst with the cool water. Then he walked to the open clearing where he often sparred with Benggala.

The waterfall was surrounded by dense forest, and even the towering cliffs above were thick with trees. To Xiao Chen, it was the perfect training ground.

But what he didn’t realize was that, while he practiced and rehearsed the techniques he had memorized, four pairs of eyes were watching him from the shadows of the trees.

While watching the course of the battle, the old woman spoke again to Sekar and Martha,“You two still haven’t answered my question. Why is that young man’s opponent now only one?”“One of them was killed by the young man, and the other two fled. Now only that old man remains. But I don’t think he can last much longer, Master,” Sekar replied.“Your observation is sharp, Sekar. Even though you’ve only been my disciple for three weeks, you’ve already learned much,” answered the old woman dressed in light green, her gaze still fixed on the ongoing fight.Sekar’s observation was indeed correct. Song Im was truly being pushed back. The combination of Xiao Chen’s Blind Wolf Fury technique with his swordplay made it difficult for the old man to even defend himself.Xiao Chen’s unpredictable movements finally left deep claw marks across Song Im’s back. This was followed by a sword slash aimed directly at the back of the old man’s neck—ending not only his resistance but also his life. There we

Song Im welcomed Xiao Chen’s attack with movements as swift as an eagle. His body twisted and leaped nimbly, dodging while unleashing equally fast counterattacks. The close-range battle was truly intense, and it was still unclear who had the upper hand. Countless blows had already been exchanged. In terms of speed, Song Im was still inferior, but his vast experience managed to cover that weakness.Xiao Chen thought he might die if he continued to rely on his inner energy to resist his opponent’s strange technique, which made it difficult for him to move. But on the other hand, he could also sense that the pressure from his opponent was gradually weakening. From that, he figured it was time to use a different technique once Song Im’s strange art was no longer active. While waiting for his assumption to become reality, Xiao Chen prepared a technique that he believed would trouble the old man. There was one peculiar move Xiao Chen had learned from the Demon Wolf Manual—the Blind Wolf’s F

Song Im’s eyes widened in shock. Xiao Chen’s sudden shift in movement was so fast that Song Rui couldn’t anticipate it.Xiao Chen had already regained control over his emotions after killing Song Rui—quite different from when Qian Hao’s life had slipped away by his hand. He thought to himself that perhaps it was because the four masked men he was fighting bore grudges against his master.“You vile brat! You killed my comrade. I will never forgive you!” Song Im roared with fury. His two remaining companions, however, reacted differently. They had realized that no matter how much they forced themselves, they had no chance of defeating the young man. Especially now, when their bodies were already etched with several of Xiao Chen’s sword wounds.“Attack him!” Song Im barked, commanding his companions. But what happened next was far from what he expected. The two masked men stood still where they were, not moving an inch. This only fueled Song Im’s anger further.“Why are you standing stil

From a distance that was still close enough to see clearly, Sekar and Martha could only gape in astonishment at the young man being besieged by the Four Wicked Masks. They were both bewildered—how could this young man hold his ground against four opponents who were clearly much more senior in age and experience? Not only was he holding his ground, but he was also pressing them with powerful attacks. Sekar thought that compared to herself and Martha, this young man’s skills were far superior.“Stop...!” The long-bearded figure shouted loudly, bringing the fight to a halt. He had finally recognized the technique the young man was using, especially after seeing the wolf-head carving on the hilt of his sword. The other three masked men immediately leapt back after hearing their comrade’s command.“Damn it! • Fighting the Four Evil Masks

Xiao Chen halted his rapid steps. In front of him, two masked figures stood blocking his way, while behind him, two others positioned themselves to prevent his escape.“Where do you think you’re going, young man? Hand over your sword if you wish to leave!”Xiao Chen let out a deep sigh. On the very first day he set foot into the martial world, it seemed battle after battle awaited him. Not that he was afraid to fight against these four masked men who had surrounded him from both front and back—but he wondered whether the two-hour limit mentioned by Zhang Wei was cumulative within a day or per fight?Furthermore, he had no idea whether the restriction of using only half of his inner energy could still be lifted at this moment or not.“Even in death, I will never hand over my sword to you! If you want to claim it, you’ll have to step over my corpse first!” He had no choice but to issue such a challenge; surrender was simply not an option. The mandate to protect the Demon Wolf Sword entr

  • The First Kill

Qian Hao could only shake his head in disbelief. He still refused to believe that someone so young could possess inner strength greater than his own.Judging by age, the gap between them was nearly double. Qian Hao had spent more than twenty years in the martial world, so it was difficult for him to accept that his inner power was still weaker than that of this young man.“Are you just going to stand there daydreaming, or are we going to continue this fight? If you want to daydream, don’t do it here—this place is full of spirits that might possess your body,” Xiao Chen taunted.“Bastard! Ghosts, demons, or even devils wouldn’t dare possess me. Prepare to die, and that sword of yours will be mine!” Qian Hao snarled, his eyes gleaming with greed as he looked at the blade in Xiao Chen’s hand.Xiao Chen could already guess what was running through Qian Hao’s mind.
