lasso family

Chapter: *The* *Lasso* *Family*

The woman had a graceful bearing and kingdom-toppling beauty, her bearing could hint anyone, she is from a noble family and her every movement exuded such grace and nobility. Her skin was pale white and looked without blemish, she looked similar to those K-pop artist in our world.

The white haired man named Hiruzen raised his head and the phantom like expanse of the universe behind his back disappeared, his expression eased up a bit and became more gentle.

"And we ain't a pushover, we have been existing in this sapa nation since time immemorial, almost as long as the imperial family. Talking about history, we have the deepest save the imperial family. If he thinks, he can leisurely pin some blames on us then he's sorely mistaken" A terrifying glint seemingly exploded from his eyes, causing those around to shiver subconsciously.

"Indeed but I don't think, we can go head-to-head with the President just yet. The President had managed to pacify majority of the youths and pinned all his corruptions on us plus the attempted assassination speaks volume. Politically, we're at the losing side and soon, he would think of wiping us out with one stroke, since we're the oldest and longest family standing, the imperial family had moved away into seclusion since, so we're the only ones standing in his way. If I was the one, I will also aim for the biggest fish in the river before the smaller fries. As the saying goes 'Kill the leader and the followers will scatter' " The woman spoke, making gestures with her hands to be more more expressive.

"The imperial family? Haven't you heard, they have declared their support for President and backed him up in saying, we're the corrupt ones plus a few upcoming aristocrat under us have vanished overnight. They're trying to weaken us and cut off our influence" Hiruzen rubbed his forehead in distress, he had a solemn expression.

The imperial family was oldest and longest standing family in existence, infact, it was the one that founded the Sapa land and built most of it, countless years ago, it was the number one ruling power, they had experts as plenty as clouds and nobody even dare think of opposing the imperial family until one day, they angered a mysterious terrifying existence and he wiped out most of them save a few then placed a curse.

After this grievous injury to the imperial family, they managed to find a way to lift the curse but their numbers, strength and influence had weakened dramatically, to the point, they chose to seclude themselves from the world, successfully turning the Sapa Nation from monarchy to civilian democratic rule. Ever since then, they rarely ever interfere with the business of the government or the people but as it is now, the imperial family have blatantly given it's support for the president and even as weakened as it has become, the imperial backing still held sway on the people, pacifying them a bit especially when the people supposedly found out, Lasso family was actually the biggest corrupt people and were the ruthless ones.

"This is a bit problematic. Are the Sublime stream sect still in our favor?" The woman found a chair and sat down, her eyes were like phoenix.

"Of course, yes. But we're like sitting ducks at the moment, our every action is now under strict surveillance. One wrong move and we're out" Hiruzen's voice was trembling in rage.

The Lasso family had never been in such precarious situation like this before and it's utterly vexing to him.

"Have we gotten any contact with Parker?" The woman's voice grew more gentle.

"Not yet. It's like he just vanished out of radar, sent out men to comb through the country but no word since" Hiruzen's expression grew darker.

"I swear it. If that boy dies then I don't mind waging a full-blown war with the government, two of us won't exist under the same sky, one must die" The woman's expression grew fierce and twisted into savagery.

"Relax, they won't kill him. Sighs, if you look at it, it's actually because of him, we're in this situation" Hiruzen sighed deeply and shook his head.

"That is true but it doesn't mean, I won't protect my nephew. Looking at it from a broader perspective, we had always planned to overthrow the government and this push might just be what we need" The woman stroked her chin thoughtfully and spoke out loud.

"Hm. From this perspective then I think it's about time" Hiruzen's voice grew so cold, frost seemingly appeared in the room.

A figure ran through the doors in haste, it stumbled and fell on the floor.

"Chief Hiruzen, t-the t--" A feminine voice sounded out, it was obvious, it was a maid.

"Speak, child!" Hiruzen's voice was very authoritative, an imposing aura shot out of him.

"The government has seized our port and banned us exporting our goods outside of Star city!" The maid hurriedly spoke, afraid, she might incur the ire of the chief.

"DAMN!" The sound of broken wood shavings and wood works reverberated across the room. Broken splitters shot around the surroundings, it was a messy sight.

Hiruzen's expression was twisted in rage and his eyes was constantly emitting murderous light.

The horrifying cultivation base of a revered gold ranker abruptly erupted from his body. A frighteningly enormous universe phantom appeared behind him, it looked so corporeal, one might think, they have been teleported into the starry skies.

The woman sitting on her chair radiated a layer of frosty bearing, her eyes narrowed into a slit, there was undulations intending to erupt from her.

The maid was trembling on the floor and kowtowing several times, trying to pacify the anger of the chief.

After a while, Hiruzen collected his cool and took a deep breathe.

"Fetch me Thomas at once!" His voice low but very audible.

"You want to verify the news?" The woman asked by the side.

"That and I need to know my enemies clearly. I have an inkling, other major clans and sects are making a move against us"

Without wasting much time, a blue haired decrepit old man swaggered into the room, his back seemingly straight and a smile was drawn on his lips.

The moment, he passed through the doors, he bowed his head and cleared his throat.

"Your loyal servant, Thomas greets you Chief Hiruzen and Madame Keeley" Thomas bowed almost a complete 90° degree.

"Thomas, do you know the dire situation we are in at the moment?" Hiruzen's voice was extremely cold. He stared hard at the old man.

"Of course, yes. I have received Intel that your port has been seized and your goods banned. Very tragic." Thomas shook his head in pity.

"Do you know who else is responsible for this? I think, the government is just a font" Hiruzen ran his hand through his hair and asked.
