offer

Chapter: *Offer*

Roy assessed his current condition and didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

But thinking about it logically, his life and death was indeed within this man's hand. If he was at his peak condition, perhaps he had a chance of resisting the man and even successfully escape with his life intact.

But as it is, he couldn't even muster a hundredth of his strength, he was almost no different from a regular human. Just slightly stronger but this little bit of strength is negligible.

"Very well. Apart from getting cover from the presidential gaze, what else do I get in return?" Roy has sense an elaborate scheme in this and he was just going to be one of the little pieces.

"Well, as an honorary guest of my clan, anywhere you go, you will reserve preferential treatment and we assure you cultivation resources but pertaining to the merits you have performed for the clan. And if you add the cover up then it isn't a bad offer, no?" Syrie leaned against the wall. The smile of his face looked very reminiscent to someone that has everything in plan.

"Alright. I accept your offer but as you can see, you might need to hasten up healing me" Roy had accepted his fate and had to make do with it. And even in all honesty, the offer given wasn't half bad, afterall, considering his previous status as a wanderer, this one was much better albeit, more restraining and controlled.

"Good, good. You're wise. Since you have agreed, that 3 months would be shortened to 3 weeks. Be rest assured. After that, I will take you away and bring you into the clan properly" Syrie spoke reassuringly.

"But what about my party members?" Roy had to ask. He wanted to know what role they play in this and if they're going to be used as well.

"The main character in this is Parker Lasso. As for Sharon? She will be recruited as well. There's no much choice to it" Syrie casually explained.

"Parker Lasso? Wait, Lasso? So that guy is actually linked to the monstrous Lasso family in Star City? Fascinating. I guess, this entire thing will revolve around the Lasso family since Parker Lasso is the main character. What's going on?" Roy inquired, his mind in a state of shock, it seems the matter is deeper than he expected.

"Alrighty, I will tell you. After your incident at the Presidential secret chamber, well, the president found a means to pin most of his corruption and crimes on the Lasso family, considering their involvement especially because of Parker. And everyone knows, the Lasso family and the presidential cabinet have been having frictions since ages. At the moment, the Lasso family is at the losing end, the people had openly supported them during this mass protest but the incident of trying to claim the president life had turned the table around. The president claimed, Greenwood and you guys was sent by the Lasso family to assassinate him" Syrie didn't mind divulging this piece of information, he had received from Ignox several weeks ago.

"So it's like this then. Are you also a Lasso family?" Roy managed to open his eyes and stared at the man, he was quite curious as to why the man was hell-bent on recruiting him and Sharon despite the president's bounty and the involvement of Parker.

"Lasso family? At all. I'm not even a side branch. Anyways, my clan is every bit a match for that family and I will only tell you this much" Syrie's expression was indifferent and he spoke slowly.

Of course, he wouldn't divulge his entire plan and personal information to Roy yet. Although, Roy would majorly be involved in the plan.

"If I may ask, what are you doing here? I doubt, you predicted where we would arrive and all" Roy asked a bit curious. This man had suddenly appeared and came from a powerful background. Of course, he couldn't be a native of this Obsong Town.

Syrie tilted his head and scratched it awkwardly.

"Well, I came here to gain worldly experience. After spending majority of my life in my clan, my father decided for me to go sharpen and temper myself in the world. I shouldn't be back into the clan for another 5 years but it seems, some pressing matters at hand has come and should I say, I was lucky enough to meet you lots here" Syrie spoke, his eyes shining with sincerity.

Roy nodded his head in agreement, just not physically, in his mind that is. It's quite common for young nobles to be sent out of the clan once in a while to gain worldly experience and tempering. Staying in the clan would harbour an inexperienced child and no noble would want that.

"Oopsy, Sharon should be waking up any moment from now. I have got to go" Syrie beamed a smile.

"I will signal the nurses to send in some pills and medicine to heal your wounds in a few days. Rest well" Syrie's voice still reverberated across the room, even after he had left.

Roy sank into a deep thought after he was gone and re-evaluated his new life, after what seemed like a long time to Roy, he sighed and closed his eyes.

......

In what seemed like a spacious office or more accurately, room. A valuable velvet carpet, a silver crystal chandelier, the soft red brocade, the large curtains embroidered with green daffodils and lastly numerous men made it clear, that this room was atleast owned by a wealthy noble/aristocrat.

A streak of light darted into the room, suddenly fusing with a ball of light hanging in mid air.

A man with a head full of white hair sat at a chair situated at the middle of the room. Numerous figures at the sides hung their head low.

The man stretched his hand to the ball of light. The ball of light squirmed and formed a letter, that unfurled itself.

Dazzling light was emitted from the text and only the white headed man had the opportunity to read through the letter, his expression growing fiercer with every passing second. A bloodthirsty suddenly erupted from him.

Everyone else in the room grew pale, they knew, this white haired man was evidently boiling in rage.

"Damn that Wang Lixang. He thinks, because he's the president, he could firmly just manipulate the media and try suppressing us to the point of even threatening our existence" A phantom of an enormous universe appeared behind him.

"Calm your temper, Hiruzen. The President might think, we're just pushovers" An elegant voice sounded out from the door of the room.

A slender and exotic woman strolled into the room, thick perfume pervaded into the surrounding, almost strong enough to make one light-headed.
