“Sis, you are thinking too much,” Veronica hissed at her sister.

“Am I?” Rebecca immediately slapped Veronica. “Shut your mouth, will you? Don’t take me for a dumb woman just because I mind my business, Veronica.”

Her slap was neither weak nor strong. It was just hard enough to make Veronica feel the pain, both physical as well as emotional pain.
