CHAPTER 9

After pondering for a long time, Philip knew that the other party's words made sense.

However, he couldn't swallow his pride when he thought of the contemptuous look that Dora gave him, which was similar to that of Lux Arden.

He carefully calculated in his mind.

It was true that the Blackwood family was wealthy and influential, but they had never had any dealings with him.

Compared to that, the Elliott Kane that Lux Arden held was a money tree that was hard to find even with a lantern.

If he let Lux Arden go today, not only would the Blackwood family not appreciate it, but he would also suffer huge losses.

But when Philip saw who was speaking, he suddenly sobered up.

"Paxton.. Director Paxton, what brings you here?" Philip looked panicked.

"We came to observe and learn from you, Philip, on how to handle cases!" Director Paxton said with a smile.

Behind Director Paxton, Anthony, the mayor of Marlowe City, appeared and said something that made Philip's face turn ugly.

But they were not the only ones who came. Following behind Anthony were several officials of all sizes, an unprecedented grandeur.

To everyone's surprise, under Anthony's lead, the officials all bowed and paid their respects to Lux Arden.

Philip was stunned.

Dora was also surprised. She whispered to Wynn, "Wynn, what is Lux's identity?" But Wynn just shook his head and smiled bitterly, just as confused as Dora.

Only Elliott Kane was not surprised at all. His face turned gray and lifeless, and the arrival of Director Paxton and Mayor Anthony had confirmed his Suspicion.

Lux Arden was the Black Dragon, and today, Elliott Kane was undoubtedly doomed!

Anthony shouted at Philip, "What are you standing there for? Put away your gun now!" Philip was startled by the shout and regained some clarity.

Although he didn't know who had alerted these big shots, it was undoubtedly all for Lux Arden.

"Paxton, isn't this inappropriate? He has killed so many people and still has a hostage in his hands!" Philip retorted with a dark face.

Paxton was so angry that he couldn't speak, and his hands were shaking.

Anthony, the top person in Marlowe City, was also furious and shouted at Philip for disobeying orders.

But Philip didn't care at all. Now he was like an arrow on the string, he had to shoot it.

"Kid, I warn you, release Elliott Kane now and surrender, or l'll kill you right now!"

After hearing this, Lux Arden released his grip on Elliott Kane's neck and threw him heavily to the ground.

The bullet shot towards Lux Arden's forehead, and it looked like it was going to blow his head apart.

The twin sisters screamed in horror, covering their eyes and unable to bear to watch their savior die on the spot.

Paxton and the top people in Marlowe were pale, as if they had seen the end of the world.

Dora was in tears, her whole body weeping like a bereaved person.

Just when everyone thought Lux Arden was bound to die, he moved.

He was like a ghost, and his figure disappeared in a flash.

"Ah!!!"

When Lux Arden reappeared, everyone realized that Philip's gun had been held in his hand and turned into a pile of parts.

Philip was lying on the ground, his legs broken, and he was screaming in agony. But the screams lasted for less than a moment before disappearing without a trace.

The bullet hole on his forehead, still bleeding, announced his death.

Everything happened too fast. The crowd could hardly believe that a human could do such things.

But compared to all of this, Dora was more concerned about the consequences of Lux Arden's actions.

After all, Lux Arden had killed a captain of the Public Security Bureau in front of the heads of the Marlowe Police and Political Departments!

She couldn't help but worry deeply for Lux Arden. However, Paxton and Anthony and others just glanced coldly at the still-warm body of Philip.

They all remained silent.

After all, how could they interfere with the decision made by the Black Dragon Sentinel?
