Jericho Vasley sat in his wide chair, his eyes fixed on the newest reports spread across his desk. Each sheet screamed the same thing: Losses.

His retailers were gone. His distributors were gone. Advertisers gone too.

And the worst part of it? Every single one of them was now tied to one name: Glitz and Glamour Cosmetics.

Jericho slammed his fist on the desk. “Damn it!” The glass pen holder rattled, a pen rolling to the floor.

His jaw twitched as he flipped through the newest reports again, as if rereading them would change the numbers. But it didn’t.

His gaze caught on the headline of a trade article:

Glitz and Glamour Takes the Market by Storm.

His hand tightened around the paper until it tore. “Elsa,” he hissed. “That stupid girl again?”

“I made sure she was all locked up at Quiltore Hex, yet Felix was able to come release her quickly. I would have paid more attention if it wasn’t for this damn scandal!” He swore and hurled the paper across the room.

“Elsa!” Jen cried, rushing over the moment she saw her. She threw her arms around Elsa, pulling her into a tight hug.Elsa hugged her back, clinging as if she would never let go. Both of them were already in tears.“Jen!” Elsa’s voice broke with relief, sobbing into her shoulder. “I thought I’d never see you again.”“I knew Felix would find you,” Jen whispered, her own tears falling freely. “He never stopped looking until he did.”Elsa glanced at Felix, who stood a few steps back, typing something quickly on his phone. Just seeing him there made her heart steady. They pulled back slightly but still held each other’s arms, as if afraid the other might vanish.“Tell me everything,” Jen urged. “How did you escape?”“It’s a long story,” Elsa said softly, forcing a weak smile. “Felix outsmarted Vasley at his own game. I’ll tell you the details another time… but right now, I don’t want to think about it anymore.”“You don’t have to,” Jen reassured her. “What matters is that you’re safe.” Sh

Kimber’s hands trembled on the desk. Everything was coming as a major shock to him. His eyes darkened with fury as the truth sank in. “That… bastard.” His voice was a low growl, filled with the rage of a father and king who had just realized the depth of betrayal they’d suffered. He shot up from his chair and paced the room. “All these years… how did I never realize this? How did I never see the glaring truth right in my face?” His jaw tightened. “He used Alejandro’s weakness, bled our accounts, killed Victoria, and even dared to lay hands on Elsa. Over twenty years of deception. Twenty years of circling like a vulture.”He paused, looking up. “And now… he thinks he can take our empire?”The fury inside him could no longer be contained. Kimber grabbed the cup on the table and hurled it against the wall, the porcelain shattering. His chest heaved with every breath.“Where is he?” Kimber demanded, turning to Felix like he’d know.Felix met his gaze, unflinching. “Planning his next move

“I will take him down slowly and make sure he feels every bit of it. He’ll watch his empire crumble before his eyes. That’s what’s coming. I’ve already started.” Felix spoke calmly, but his eyes were intense as he turned to look at Elsa. “Your note about leveraging the drug abuse scandal? That was brilliant."Elsa's brow furrowed, and her lips parted slightly in surprise. Confusion crossed her face before her eyes widened, realization dawning on her like a flash of lightning. “You saw that…??” she stammered, her voice trailing off at the thought of what he would think about her after reading all that. She felt exposed, as if Felix could see right through her. She remembered her bold plans to bring down the reputation of Vasley Group and Gregory's construction company using the scandal involving Diane and Jerry. That was really controversial. Did he think she was a bad person for planning to do that? Would he judge her? Felix noticed the surprise and uncertainty on Elsa's face, a sof

  • 197: When realization hits

Without hesitation, Felix lunged forward, wrapping his hand around Elsa and pulling her down behind a table, just as gunfire erupted in the small room. Bullets ricocheted off the furniture, sending splinters flying from it. “Get down!” Felix yelled, pulling Elsa closer, feeling her body press against his. He could feel her reaching into his pockets as he returned fire, the sound of gunshots ringing in his ears. “Don’t tell me you didn’t bring me a spare gun! What am I going to use?!” Elsa shot at him when she noticed his pocket empty, her eyebrow raised in disbelief and a hint of frustration on her face. She felt like slapping him for forgetting something so important, her annoyance mixed with adrenaline. Felix glanced at her, guilt and exasperation on his face. He wanted to kick himself for not being more prepared. “Never mind,” she waved her hand sharply and began looking around the cluttered room for something that could help. The guards shouted commands to each other, tryin

Felix smirked as the heat washed over him. But the smirk vanished immediately; he didn’t have time to celebrate. He dashed down the corridor, taking the stairs two at a time, heading toward the floor where he suspected Elsa might be held.Reaching the upper level, he paused, his breath coming in sharp bursts. His eyes fell on a door marked “Staff Only.” He approached cautiously and leaned in closer, straining to listen for any signs of life on the other side. The silence was deafening. He placed his ear against the door, concentrating hard to hear anything on the other side. Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed down the hall. Felix's pulse quickened. He had to get inside, now. With a swift kick, he forced the door open and slipped inside, closing it quietly behind him.The room was dimly lit and filled with old furniture and dusty boxes. There was a table in the center of the room. His eyes scanned the space, everywhere, searching for any clue that Elsa was there. She had
