002. Betrayed

Without wasting another second, Cyan quickly flagged down a cab and slipped inside.

The moment he settled into the seat, he pointed toward Stella’s car ahead.

“Follow that car!”

The driver nodded at once. “Alright!”

Without hesitation, he started tailing Stella’s vehicle through the busy streets.

Every route she took, he followed.

Every turn she made, the cab stayed close behind.

The pursuit continued in tense silence until—

SCREECH!

Stella’s car suddenly came to a halt in front of Five Star Hotels, one of the most luxurious hotels in the country.

Seeing her stop, Cyan immediately instructed the driver to pull over as well.

Then he saw her.

Stella stepped gracefully out of the car, adjusted her long hair, and walked toward the grand banquet hall with calm, measured smile almost like someone going to meet an important figure.

Cyan’s eyes narrowed as he kept his gaze fixed on her.

What is she doing here?

Why does she look so happy?

And Why is she carrying herself like she’s about to meet some big shot?

Could it be that she’s…

“Sir, your fare is ten bucks.”

The driver’s voice abruptly pulled Cyan out of his thoughts.

“Oh… right. Ten bucks?”

Quickly, Cyan counted the money and handed it over before stepping out of the cab, the divorce papers still clutched tightly in his hand.

“Stella…” he muttered under his breath. “I hope I’m wrong. I truly hope my instincts are wrong because I still have so much planned for the both of us. You can’t possibly be cheating on me… can you?”

The countless questions tormenting his mind all had only one answer—

and he was determined to find it the moment he entered that banquet hall.

Holding tightly onto the fragile hope left in his heart, Cyan quietly followed behind Stella without her noticing until they both GOT into the grand banquet hall.

The moment Cyan stepped into the banquet hall, his eyes were instantly met with several familiar faces.

Stella.

Judy Rogers—Stella’s mother.

Brittney Rogers—Stella’s younger sister.

And even Stella’s close friends were all present.

At that moment, Cyan finally realized he had calculated everything correctly.

This was no ordinary gathering.

This party had clearly been carefully planned.

But for who?

The answer came the very next second when his gaze landed on the giant portrait hanging above the stage.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FELIX STONE!”

Cyan’s pupils widened instantly.

Standing boldly on the stage was Felix Stone himself, dressed elegantly in a luxurious suit. In one hand, he held a microphone, while the other held a bouquet of flowers.

Felix Stone was Stella’s ex-boyfriend—

the very man who had shattered her heart in the past.

But if Felix was here… then why was Stella also present?

Why would she attend a banquet hosted by the same man who once hurt her so deeply?

Before Cyan could process his thoughts further, Felix’s voice echoed loudly across the hall.

“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for coming to celebrate my birthday tonight!”

The crowd erupted into applause as Felix smiled brightly on stage.

“Tonight,” he continued smoothly, “I want to use this opportunity to make a very important announcement. I want to introduce someone incredibly special to me.”

Felix smiled even wider. “Right here in this hall is the woman of my dreams. My queen. I’ve been in love with her for years, and recently, I proposed to her…And she said yes. In just a few weeks, we’ll officially become husband and wife. Ladies and gentlemen…”

Felix stretched out his hand toward the crowd.

“Please welcome to the stage my beautiful fiancée—Stella Rhianna Rogers!”

Instantly, thunderous applause exploded across the hall.

Some guests clapped excitedly.

Some smiled warmly.

Others stared with admiration and envy, hoping they too would one day find such love.

But standing among them, utterly shattered, was Cyan.

His entire body froze.

Disbelief filled his eyes as the words replayed endlessly inside his head.

Stella… is Felix’s fiancée?

She’s going to marry him?

At that moment, rage slowly began to consume him from within.

“So this means… She’s been cheating on me all this time. And now her wedding with Felix is only weeks away…”

As he stared at Stella walking gracefully toward the stage, Cyan clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug painfully into his palms.

Finally, Stella stepped onto the stage.

The instant she reached Felix, he wrapped an arm possessively around her waist, grabbed her ass, and kissed her passionately in front of everyone.

That was the final straw for Cyan.

Rage exploded inside him.

After the kiss ended, Felix grinned proudly at the guests.

“Here she is, everyone—my lovely fiancée and soon-to-be wife!” he announced proudly. “Isn’t she beautiful?”

“Yes, of course she’s beautiful… But she can only be beautiful in the eyes of her husband—not in the eyes of her gold-digging ex-boyfriend!”

A sharp voice suddenly cut through the banquet hall as the entire hall instantly fell silent.

Every head turned toward the source of the voice, and shock spread across the guests’ faces the moment they saw who it was.

Cyan?

Whispers immediately erupted from the invited guests.

“Isn’t that the Rogers family’s son-in-law?”

“The same useless pauper Stella married?”

“I heard he’s completely broke!” another sneered. “A generational poor rat!”

“His name is probably on search engines already. Just type ‘poorest man in the country’ and boom—his face will appear!”

The mocking laughter and side comments echoed around him, but Cyan ignored every single one of them.

He was already used to their insults.

And besides, he hadn’t come here for them.

He came for Stella.

“Cyan?!” Stella snapped the moment she saw him. “What on earth are you doing here? And what the hell did you just say?!”

Before her anger could settle, Felix spoke up as well.

“Babe, who exactly is this guy? And why is he causing a scene on my special day?”

Before Stella could reply, Cyan spoke up.

“Are you kidding me right now, Mr. Stone?” Cyan asked mockingly. “You’re saying you don’t know who I am?”

He stopped directly in front of the stage.

“Well then, since you apparently don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself properly.” He said coldly.

“I am Cyan Sean—the husband of the woman you just introduced as your future wife. So tell me, Mr. Stone… in what country does one woman marry two husbands at the same time? Because last I checked, it certainly isn’t legal in this country.”

“What kind of nonsense are you talking about?” Felix barked angrily.

“The nonsense I’m talking about is the fact that Stella is my wife! My legally and lawfully wedded wife!” Cyan fired back immediately. “I will never stand here and watch another man marry the woman I’m still married to—”

SLAP!

A sharp, stinging blow landed heavily across Cyan’s face, instantly cutting off his words.

The entire banquet hall grasped.

Slowly, Cyan lifted his head, to see who had slapped him.

Standing before him was Stella. She was the one who slapped him.

Seeing the scene unfolding right in front of him, Felix smirked.

Then Stella suddenly grabbed Cyan by the collar and yanked him forward aggressively.

“Can you just shut up?!” she shouted furiously. “Can you shut the fuck up, Cyan?!”
